Guest UserThe front desk staff were polite but a little cold, though there were no issues with their service. The location is excellent, just a three-minute walk from Taichung Station, and there are plenty of convenient dining options nearby. The room facilities were all in working order, and while the room itself was on the smaller side, it offered great value for money. It's perfect for travelers who just need a place to rest and briefly stay.

This time I brought my wife to Taichung for her birthday, and we stayed at the Norway Forest Cultural Center for the first night. We arrived early to drop off our luggage and immediately experienced the friendly and polite service, which made me feel happy and warm. Although there was a minor issue with the air conditioning in our room when we checked in that evening, the front desk manager came up and helped us switch to a larger and more comfortable room. Their service attitude was also super nice. It's no wonder this hotel has reviews above 9 – it's absolutely deserved. If I have the chance to come again, it will definitely be my first choice! 🥰

Upon check-in, when asked the reason for our stay, I casually mentioned we were celebrating our 100th day together. They genuinely took note and arranged related services. The sense of privacy and exclusive hospitality was exceptional, truly living up to the reputation of Japan's top Hoshino Resorts group. I particularly loved the design of the entire garden and the relaxation pavilions by the pool, as well as the hot springs. Whether it was the expansive window views from the room, the scenery from the private onsen, the women's public bath, or the dining area, every single spot, with its flowers, plants, and water birds, was meticulously designed. Both dinner and breakfast were also thoughtfully prepared and presented using local ingredients. Our 2-day, 1-night stay left us feeling incredibly touched and joyful, both physically and mentally. It felt like we were taken care of in every possible way. Every moment was filled with deep appreciation. I highly recommend staying here.

The rooms and environment are incredibly clean, tidy, and comfortable. As soon as you enter the lobby, there's a lovely diffuser scent, and each floor also has a pleasant aroma, which is very relaxing. The lobby offers complimentary water, cookies, and snacks for guests. What's even better, the room comes with a Nespresso capsule coffee machine and English tea bags. Our family of four stayed here, and it only cost a little over 2,000, which is fantastic value for money. Usually, rooms at this price point have strong cigarette or damp smells, but there was absolutely none of that here, which truly amazed me. It's been a long time since I've come across such a thoughtful hotel! :)

Guest UserVery beautiful hotel. Staff were courteous. There is a KFC next to the hotel and a family mart nearby. Outside the hotel ,you can bus no.5 to taichung station. Overall I am very satified with my stay there.

Guest Userunfortunately i have forgotten to take a photo of the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes from the HSR, so this itself might not be as convenient. However, what I love is that, this is a conveniently located near Miyahara, which is a pick up place for group tours.
Their walls are quite thin and you can often hear people coming back or when they’re too loud.
Overall, for the price, it’s really good!

Guest UserCheck-in at 4 PM was a bit late, but the Taichung Park nearby was a nice bonus. It's within walking distance of the Yizhong Street Night Market. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's great that there's a hot and cold water dispenser in the hallway. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable, so I slept very well. I highly recommend this place.

The hotel's location is convenient, with a small commercial area nearby and a bus stop right outside. The room has been renovated, is spacious, and the TV can stream content on its huge screen. I stayed on the 17th floor and didn't hear any noise, so overall I was very satisfied. The only minor drawback is that the parking lot is uncovered, so it gets quite hot in the summer sun, but free parking is still a good perk. If the parking lot is full, you can park in a nearby lot and the hotel will reimburse the parking fee.

Guest UserThe hotel offers good value for money, but the breakfast selection was just so-so. On our second day, we visited the Second Market, recommended by locals, which was only about a 5-minute walk away. You *must* try the Shan He Braised Pork Rice, beef pan-fried buns, and Lao Lai Black Tea! We had a great time walking around and eating, and our brunch was easily sorted. As for the room, the bed is right in front of you as soon as you open the door. However, the toilet and shower areas are separated (wet and dry), and there's enough space to open a large suitcase. P.S. There are no convenience stores right near the hotel; you'll have to walk a bit to find one.

Kimchi2630I recently spent two nights at The Metro Hotel (豪爵大飯店台中館) in Taichung, and overall, it was a very practical, comfortable, and well-situated experience. Located right on Wuquan Road in the West District, this 3.5-star property strikes an excellent balance between affordability and convenience. If you are looking for a reliable base to explore the city, here is a detailed breakdown of my stay.
The room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and featured a nice view of the surrounding city. The bed was on the firmer side but very supportive, providing a great night's sleep after long days of walking. A major highlight for me was the climate control. I absolutely need a cool sleeping environment and always set the thermostat to 21°C; thankfully, the room’s air conditioning was powerful and maintained that crisp, chilly temperature perfectly throughout both nights.
There are two minor caveats to the room:
• Electrical Outlets: There are very few power outlets available. If you have multiple devices to charge (phone, laptop, power banks), I highly recommend bringing a small travel extension cord.
• Soundproofing: While the room itself was peaceful, the door soundproofing is a bit lacking. You can occasionally hear other guests in the hallway or neighboring doors closing.
The hotel provides all the essential basics without overcomplicating things. The bathroom was roomy with great water pressure and came stocked with standard toiletries. A huge plus for travelers is the self-service laundry room located on the 5th floor.
The front desk staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful with luggage storage. It is worth noting that they strictly enforce their 4:00 PM check-in time—you generally cannot get into your room a minute earlier—but they do offer a generous 12:00 PM check-out, allowing for a relaxed morning.
