Staying in Guangzhou for Canton Fair, the hotel provides easy access to Pazhou since it's only 1 metro stop. I expected a lot from this hotel because the rating at Trip.com is very high. Let's start with the positives: - Friendly staff, I even left my luggage there before going to airport - Room was clean and spacious enough - Room was pretty quite despite in the middle of village - near MRT exit, ca 3 mins walk Now The downside: - it's not really 3 stars, it's 2 star at best - no proper lobby, checkin process was messy - bfast was very average - the bed was a bit hard - it's really in the middle of village Overall I had decent stay, it does the job, but for the price I paid, I could have easily get a 4* hotel (I paid less for a 4* hotel in Futian SZ) Perhaps I won't complain if I pay half of the price and the rating weren't so high.

The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient for getting around. The rooms are clean and tidy, the service is attentive and thoughtful, and the soundproofing is good, ensuring a quiet environment. The amenities are also very comprehensive. I had such a great experience that I extended my stay for another day.

I stayed 2 nights in this hotel for Canton Fair Exhibition. Hotel provided free shuttle bus to Canton fair. Hotel also provided welcome drinks and some dessert , fruits when we came back from exhibition hall. I felt very warm and sweet. I had my dinner at 5th floor Restaurant Long Fa Xuan , which very convenient for us who felt lazy and tired to take DIDi out for dinner . Overall okay to stay and hotel fulfill my request (arrange non smoking room). Thanks a lot for everything and I will recommend this hotel for business trip especially Canton Fair. Thank you🙏🏻

It wasn't just a place to rest for a night; it was a process of emotional development. Arrival: Visual 'Noise Reduction' Driving through the traffic of the Pazhou Exhibition Center, the hotel's grand structure unfolded along the river. A photographer's instinct is to seek out 'clean' backgrounds, and the lobby here was my first pleasant surprise—exceptionally high ceilings and impressive depth. There were no superfluous decorations; light streamed through the enormous glass curtain walls, casting long shadows on the floor. While checking in, I instinctively observed the angle of the light and found it to be diffuse, as soft as if it had passed through a softbox, instantly calming my initial anxieties. Room: The Pearl River in My Viewfinder I specifically booked a high-floor Horizon Club River View room. The moment I opened the door, I didn't look at the bed first; instead, I walked straight to the massive floor-to-ceiling window—my natural viewfinder. Composition Elements: In the foreground was the lush greenery of the hotel's 5800㎡ subtropical garden. The mid-ground featured the winding course of the Pearl River, and the background showcased the city's skyline. This layered sense of foreground, mid-ground, and background is a photographer's favorite 'standard composition.' Light's Mood: The 'blue hour' at dusk was the best time for shooting. The lights of cargo ships on the river cut through the water, and the architectural lines of the Pazhou Exhibition Center appeared stark and restrained in the twilight. I set up my tripod and used a long exposure to transform the flowing river water into a silken texture, a healing sensation that concretized time. Gardens: Flowing Vitality As a photographer, I tire of monotonous business aesthetics and crave vitality. The Shangri-La's gardens became my 'outdoor set.' Pool Lines: The 1000㎡ curvilinear outdoor pool, from an aerial perspective, looked like a sapphire embedded in the garden. The loungers by the pool and the reflections of palm trees created a minimalist, geometric tableau. Hidden Spots: The Koi pond and Southeast Asian-inspired vegetation in the garden, with their lighting at dusk, offered beautiful light and shadow play. Here, there was no city clamor, only the rustling of leaves in the breeze. The click of the shutter felt particularly clear at this moment, as if recording a prolonged stillness. Emotional Value: Relaxation Beyond the Shutter A photographer's journey often involves the fatigue of 'rushing between locations,' but here, I let go of the compulsion to 'get the shot.' The Slow Pace of the Executive Lounge: The Horizon Club lounge, located on a high floor, offered an excellent view. During afternoon tea, I put away my wide-angle lens and simply 'shot' the shifting clouds outside with my eyes. The hushed tones of the service staff acted as a kind of background noise reduction, allowing my emotions to completely relax. Evening Introspection: Back in my room, I soaked in the bathtub by the window, gazing at the Pearl River's nightscape. This sense of detachment was incredibly precious—I was both an observer of the city and an享受者 (enjoyer) enveloped by it. The emotional value at this moment wasn't about how many photos I took, but about finally having a moment where I didn't have to see the world through a viewfinder. Summary from a Photographer's Perspective The Shangri-La Guangzhou didn't give me isolated photos, but rather an emotional negative that could be developed. It offered a sense of compositional security with its expansive river views and a visual breathing space with its tranquil gardens. For someone who thinks through a lens, this is a secluded oasis where every spot is a potential shot, without the need to actively seek them out.

I was extremely satisfied with my overall stay at this hotel, it definitely deserves a five-star rating. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient; it's very close to Pazhou, near Keyun Road metro station, just an 8-minute walk away, and there's a bus stop right downstairs. There are also plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, making it perfect for both business trips and leisure travel. In the evenings, you can even take a walk along the Pearl River to enjoy the river views. The room decor is tasteful and elegant, with a modern minimalist style that still feels cozy. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the cleaning was very thorough, ensuring a neat and clean environment. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the chef enthusiastically recommended dishes, which showed great care. The heated pool wasn't crowded, making for a very comfortable night swim. The hotel's location, room facilities, and hygiene standards all exceeded my expectations, offering excellent value for money. I will definitely choose to stay at the East Stanton Hotel again on my next visit to Guangzhou.

I used to stay at the Westin when I traveled for business and exhibitions, but this time I chose the Courtyard by Marriott. Overall, it was great – clean and simple, and the breakfast spread was fantastic. It was also very convenient to get to the exhibition center. The front desk staff, Sunny, Blair, and Nancy, provided excellent service and even arranged a late check-out for me.

The room decor is a bit dated, but it's well-maintained and clean. Parking is shared but there are plenty of spaces, and you can access the hotel lobby directly. A highlight of the hotel's WiFi is that it can bypass the Great Firewall. The breakfast is quite substantial, but the quality is just average for a 5-star hotel; considering the price, it's excellent value for money. The lunch set menu at Ming Court is also great value for money, both in terms of price and quality.

Overall, my stay was incredibly satisfying! The hotel's location is super convenient, and the front desk staff were efficient and polite during check-in. My room was spacious and bright, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The bedding was comfortable, leading to a great night's sleep. The public areas are cozy and stylish, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. It offers excellent value for money. Atour is definitely my top choice for accommodation when traveling, and I've already recommended it to my friends!

This hotel has a wonderfully retro vibe. They offer complimentary coffee, afternoon tea, and even cocktails. It's a fantastic spot for photos! The service is also excellent. The location is superb, right near Gangding subway station, making it very convenient to get to places like Taikoo Hui and Canton Tower. Highly recommend!

Nice room, also very big, but the light controls as well as AC are all in chinese, how am i supposed to use them, atleast put some stickers in english. Also one of the mirrors in the bathroom above the sink is kinda broken, hinge needs to be fixed. They also put plastic slippers, which look like have been used by everyone before, never have i ever seen that. Usually single use slippers are provided. Also no sign to put on the door handle,like ”do not disturb” or ”please clean my room” , but after speaking to the front desk,they said that its more convenient to use wechat to ask for cleaning, since putting a sign on a doorhandle requires a worker to constantly pass through the aisle to check. I would also not depend on getting your clothes dryed, the machine in the room is a washer+dryer (2in 1), but good luck getting your clothes to dry 🫠🙃 Also the location is not close to the attractions or known markets that most people who come to Guangzhou visit, it is more of a high rise banking area.
