AAnonymous UserThe location of this hotel is undeniable great as it is just walking distance to many eateries and 四海城 also opposite to Wanda shopping mall and many happening places to hang out at night and shop. I choose this hotel because of its location and their good review, the service of the staff at the counter was excellent for the first night when we arrive, they help us to carry our luggage and manage it to the room, we were extremely satisfied for the first night.
The location was good and the room was spacious, the ammenities in the room is quite old, the washing machine looks like a 20 years old machine which we turn it on everytime the sounds came out from the toilet looks like the machine is going to breakdown, we had to keep the door close when we use the washing machine. The dryer is located outside of the passage way and we first time seeing the old school dryer with a wardrobe and a hot blower at the bottom to dry the clothes. Anyway we just tolerate as the location was good and the room was clean, until the next day we went down to the lobby and requested the reception to help us to order something and they were kind and helpful and after a favour of helping us they requested us the write a review abt the hotel and I said ok and I will do it the next day when I checkout, We were satisfied even though the facilities was abit old and the fridge was not turn on and our cakes were all spoilt the next day.
The next day when we were going to checkout, the same reception staff at the lobby saw us and was smiling and helpful to us and the next moment she again asked if we could write a review now immediately, I say ok and she continue to say that make sure the review has to be 5 star review and if not it will be penalized. I was shocked as even all the old amenities and things in the room I wanted to give a 4 star review with 5 star for the location and 3 star on the amenities as I wanted to have my view to reflect my own experience. Then she continued to explain if the review from me is not 5 star all the staff will be penalized. Then I honesty told her that I apologize and I do not feel that I will give a 5 star rating as I probably do not experience a 5 star service and facilities in the hotel, I would prefer to give a honest review. Then the moment when she heard that, she replied me that in that case pls do not need to review thanks, then I say ok that’s fine and from that onwards they do not smile at us or being helpful to us anymore and it was a total change, we transferred our luggge down the lobby with 5 luggages including boxes, they offer no help at all like the first day, we were waiting at the lobby and when our car arrive we carried the luggages ourselves and they stood at the lobby with no eye contact and no friendly attitude to us even without greeting us like the first day during our arrival or before they request for the review.
I felt a very bad experience with the staff who responded to us in that manner just because we are not giving a 5 star review to them, which I honestly felt a review should be an honest opinion to the rest so that it could help travelers like us before validating an accommodation before booking, which is why now I u begin to understand that the review when we read from the hotel before our booking wasn’t genuine and I read all good review with 5 star and hence i booked the hotel at Xena and I didn’t expect that the reviews all came with an dishonest review and I believe this is not something that a traveler needs before they start booking for their next trip. I hope trip.com would be able to filter all the ingenuity of 5 start which came from the pressure of receptionist of the hotel.
