The Mena House's views and location are truly unbeatable, one of a kind in the world. You can only fully experience the pyramids from sunrise, midday, to sunset by staying here. As night falls, without the pyramid lights, they appear exceptionally serene and mysterious, framed by the hotel's lights and palm trees. This is an experience that simply can't be replicated by just visiting for a quick photo. The hotel also carries immense historical significance. The Cairo Conference was signed here, and photos of the 'Big Three' from that era hang on the walls, full of historical resonance. For me, paying for this unique scenery and historical ambiance was absolutely worth it; I have no regrets. However, frankly speaking, the hotel's amenities, service, and attention to detail absolutely do not match its price (you're paying for the location, not the service). The hairdryer has weak power, leaving my hair dry and frizzy at the ends. The toiletries, especially the toothpaste, are of poor quality, like a product without any brand or quality assurance. There's only one type of pillow, and it's so soft it offers no support whatsoever. After one night, my neck was aching – not what you'd expect from a high-end hotel. The restaurant experience was also terrible: I ordered soup, and it was served without a spoon. I couldn't find one anywhere, and by the time the waiter brought one, the soup was completely cold. The restaurant staff would even specifically ask if everything was satisfactory, but by then, complaining felt pointless, so I could only say 'it's fine.' What was even more unsettling was the fake, superficial service. When I genuinely needed help or efficiency, no one was around. When checking out, my suitcase had spinner wheels and was very easy to push, but a staff member insisted on 'helping' with it, performing this kind of meaningless, superficial gesture. In summary: Staying here means paying for the pyramid views and the historical sentiment, not for comfort and service. Those who value scenery and historical significance might find it acceptable, but anyone seeking genuine service quality and a premium lodging experience will definitely be disappointed.

I didn't have high expectations for accommodation in Egypt, so overall, I thought it was pretty good. The room was quite large, a bit old but reasonably clean. The bathroom was okay, but the sink was too small with no space for toiletries, and most importantly, it was leaking. The bed was comfortable, the bedding was clean, and the pillows were very comfy, so we slept soundly and rested well. They provide two complimentary bottles of water daily, and you can ask the front desk for more if needed. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The hotel offers disposable slippers but no toothbrushes or other toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options and good taste, enough to fill you up before starting your day.

Rock-solid throughout the hotel – a lifesaver for uploading all those epic photos and staying connected. What truly elevated this trip was the team, led by the incredible owner, Mohamed. He's got this genuine warmth that's rare in hospitality – like chatting with a knowledgeable friend. He hooked us up with insider tips on the best ride-sharing apps to navigate Cairo's wild traffic, spot-on restaurant recs nearby, and even curated a day tour that blew us away. The price was super reasonable, and our guide, Mo Karam, was an absolute standout. Thoughtful, packed with Egyptian history knowledge, and brimming with passion – he fielded my endless questions (seriously, a million of them!) with patience and extra stories that made the sites come alive. Booking him felt like unwrapping a gift. We love venturing out solo, but Cairo's energy is intense – constant traffic from dawn till dusk, and haggling with taxis can eat up your day. With Mohamed's help to hire a driver and car for city jaunts was spot-on; it saved us hours and stress. He was always there for backup, too. The personal touches sealed the deal: When I woke up with a pesky cough one morning, Mohamed sent over a steaming ginger tea to soothe my throat – talk about heartfelt! Then there's Mo, who brews Turkish coffee that's honestly better than anything I tried at local cafes. And the chef? She's a quiet force of kindness – doesn't speak much English, but her caring energy shines through in every meal. The whole staff is like that: friendly, chatty, and eager to help with whatever's on your mind, from hidden gems to quick translations. We stayed only for one night, and it was acceptable level of comfort only for one night. However, at first, we were upset by the absence of the elevator for several floors. Two big luggages and.. Had to carry it two times by ourselves. Breakfast was available up to 12:00, but they called us to the room by 9:00, when we were sleeping. No money changing service at the hotel, helpless description of the ATM location (it didn’t work, and we had to ran for a while to find a working one). And there was an irritating clog in the bathroom, sorry( All in all, the view and the bed were good.

This was such a lovely place, it was clean, newly created and the staff were all so helpful. The view was amazing, both in the room and rooftop, you can wake up, use the loo or shower and the view of this ancient site will be visible through the window, a beautiful experience. (I chose the pyramid view room) The rooftop was lovely, the view was immaculate, you can see the city around and the view of the pyramids with lights at night, you can see the sunrise and sunset, and the moon cycle too. The staff are always at your service, they often check in on you, unless you want to be alone and they treat you with respect and kindness. I met the managers of the hotel too, who were so welcoming, they offered me tea, good conversation and were overall good genuine people. The room was comfortable, I was alone but had the choice of two beds, you can see the view from the bed, the room was very clean, you are provided with everything you need, and if you don't have it you can ask. The room was also temperature regulated with Aircon above the bed, and a remote to control the speed and temperature, much needed in the Egyptian weather. Overall the experience was great and I met other people who were staying in the hotel who said good things, which is always good to know when you are alone, staying somewhere new. Although odd, the hotel being close to the highway was great for getting taxis, bikes and crossing over to walk into the city and town. When you are in your room, and the windows are closed, you rarely hear anything, beside light sounds, it doesn't disturb my sleep at all. The staff were great, the owners were great, the location was great and it was a good experience which I recommend.

Everything is great. Good locations to visit the Puranas. Just right outside the pyramid entrance. The view from the roof top is magnificent. Food was average.. but it’s edible. However, the only thing I like to mentioned is the amenities in the room isn’t too complete. We booked 2 rooms and Some of the rooms come w table lamp but the other doesn’t. Some of the room comes w plugs but another has no plugs at all so we request for a change of rooms. Couldn’t charge my phone or I have to sacrifice the Tv 🥲. So we asked for a change of rooms They also do not have hairdryer in the room and you need to ask for it. Of course they are very kind people but it’s just a hassle for customers. Another issues we encounter is the poor wifi connectivity and that gets into our nerves. Basically is weak connection thus it gets cut off or totally couldn’t locate the room number at all. Besides, room was comfortable and staff was very helpful and kind. I guess it’s consider a very good place to stay despite those little issues.

The view of the Pyramids (at least the room we had) are splendid. Also the view from the cafe at the 5th floor is excellent. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but manageable. The water heater is very small so hot water lasts only few minutes. The location is close to the GEM and Pyramids but you depend on a taxi as walking around is not really user friendly especially for people with reduced mobility.

The hotel has pyramid view on their rooftop, you cN enjoy the view while havinv your breakfast..the room was ok, but lack of amenities..the breakfast was good..the staff is friendly..overall we have a good tine while staying there

Facilities: Very old, far from 4-star standard. WiFi is incredibly slow, and my 4G/5G mobile data (from an Orange SIM card bought at Cairo Airport T1) was completely unusable once I entered the room. Cleanliness: The hotel is only 20 meters from the pyramid entrance. The downstairs area and the entire hotel lobby reeked of horse and camel manure! The room itself was slightly better. Ambiance: The rooftop dining area offers a nice view. Service: The owner and staff were quite friendly and helpful, which was probably the best aspect of this hotel.

My one-night stay on the 4th floor was incredibly disappointing. After arriving exhausted from my travels, I finally settled into sleep, only to have my rest cut short at 8:00 AM by the floor supervisor. Instead of maintaining a quiet environment for guests, he treated the hallway like a social club—shouting at staff, laughing loudly, and using his phone on speakerphone for everyone to hear. I even knocked on my door to alert him to the noise, but he completely ignored me and continued his disruptive behavior until the moment I checked out. I was actually planning to book an additional night, but after this experience, I wouldn't dream of staying here again. It is shocking that a supervisor would have so little respect for paying guests
