"The customer service is young, friendly and lively like Barcelona. The lobby, first floor bar and roof terrace are all modern and comfortable. The rooms are very small but small and are designed to be easy to use. The bedding and chairs are of good quality and very comfortable. The quality of the bedding and furniture is higher than the five-star hotel we stayed in Dubai, and it seems that we are considering the comfort of our customers. There is also a city bus right next to the hotel to Park Guell. It's a shame that the kettle and tea aren't there, but it wasn't a problem as it was about a 10-minute walk to the Bole district where delicious bars and cafes are open until midnight. "
"The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, but they were very small and cramped. There was no door lock on the rooms either. A good place to stop if you are on a budget and passing through."
"From BCN airport, we took the express bus to Plaza Catalonia. Then we walked a hood 15mins distance to the accommodation. It's not a full service hotel, some sort like an inn or hostel. We were mentally prepared to carry our luggage up the stairs but thankfully the building has a small elevator. The check in desk is located on the 4th floor so you have to ring the bell at the entrance for them to unlock the main door downstairs. Check in was fast. The size of the room is just right for 2 people to stay but the balcony is the highlight. All 3 staffs we met were friendly and very accommodating. It's easy to get around as the city bus stops and metro stations are just around the area."
"The hotel boasts a fantastic location, with subway and bus stations nearby, making transportation incredibly convenient. The rooms are quite spacious, comfortably accommodating two adults and one child. Cleanliness was excellent. Additionally, a large supermarket is just a short walk away, which was very convenient for our daily needs."
"The room was quite spacious, but the bathroom facilities were a bit dated. The shower, which was converted from a bathtub, only had a half-glass screen, so water easily splashed everywhere. The hotel's breakfast was very good, with a rich variety of options and excellent service. There was also complimentary lemonade available in the hotel lobby.
The location is fantastic, very close to Barcelona Cathedral and Palau de la Música Catalana. The Gothic Quarter's various alleys are also great for exploring, with an abundance of restaurants and coffee shops."
"I was a bit worried because of some bad reviews, but the reception staff were incredibly friendly and the hygiene was perfectly fine. The bedding was soft and clean. They even cleaned the room and tucked my doll back into bed for me ☺️ haha. The only downside is there’s no shower head 😭. Aside from that, I had a great time at an excellent location for a good price. The hotel's location is truly unbeatable. It's fantastic! There’s a Mercadona supermarket right in front, and the subway station and restaurants are all nearby. The shower is a minor inconvenience, but I highly recommend it!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️"
"The most satisfying hotel from my Barcelona trip! Considering its quality and location, it's probably the best value for money among all the hotels I compared. It's right in front of the cathedral square, and the subway is super convenient. The breakfast offers a wide variety, and it's much more cost-effective if included in the room rate than buying it separately. The shampoo and lotion are from Bulgari. The front desk asked us beforehand if we preferred a street-view room or a quieter one facing inwards. Street-view rooms can be a bit noisy but come with a balcony that offers a view (my room type was a bit to the side). The hotel room also has a free capsule coffee machine. The rooftop bar is very popular because of its great views, but you have to make a purchase to stay. Housekeeping is very clean. The only downside is that laundry costs extra and isn't cheap. The elevator is quite small, fitting a maximum of 3-4 people. I had originally planned to stay a night in a nearby town and pick up my luggage the next day, but the front desk said they couldn't store overnight luggage, which is understandable."
"The location is amazing, but that's it. There's many problems with this hotel. Very thin walls, and is quite noisy. No notice that the pool was not working. It was crossed out of our card. The pillows and blanket was super thin. Towels are very rough, and don't smell very clean. Shower pressure is poor. Flush is extremely aggressive and splashes back at you. Floor easily gets dirty. Shampoo and body wash are no good.
No fridge. AC is super inconsistent. Very cheap blow dryer. Extremely small closet space. Just big enough to hold 3 things. Smart TV doesn't not connect properly as a smart tv should. WiFi constantly asks you to sign back in.
Service was decent if you needed it. No one really greets you when you come and go at the front desk.
They should transparently list what you can request, and what you can't toxmake things easier."
"The hotel is ideally located, the reception is made around the hotel.
There is a place to drink tea or coffee and a lots style cookies.
The room was a little tight, which I asked for away from noise, but during the day there was a sound from an industrial extractor.
The bathroom is very large with bathroom, I would have liked to have to do myself a bathroom. But the hand washing peak was fatal from the use. Indeed the material is not suitable for the use it has.
I'm glad you can leave your bags outside the check-out time 🙏🏽 because the day I was a holiday and everything was closed.
The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.
When I came back in the morning I regrettably found a vomiting in the hallway to my room and in the courtyard the open door, and in the floor a lot of mandarin shells.
The hotel is a very nice hotel, but it is a very nice hotel, but when you see that there are cameras in the hall, the ”people” responsible for these unpleasant attitudes could do something."
"I booked 3 nights, mainly because I saw a photo of a swimming pool on Trip.com. However, when I arrived, the staff told me there is no pool at all, and that the image shown online was not part of their hotel. This was very disappointing. When I went to report this, I saw that the photo had already been removed from the listing, which made it harder to prove. Regarding the deposit, I paid in cash at check-in. To be fair, I forgot to ask about it during check-out. After I returned home, I emailed the hotel, and they replied saying the refund would be processed via bank transfer. However, at the time of writing this review, I still haven't received the money.
Additionally, I had booked a twin room, but I was informed that children were not permitted in that room type. I admit it was written in the booking, but it wasn't obvious. The hotel charged us an additional €49 per night to upgrade to a triple room. However, on the first night, we still had to sleep in the original twin room, even though we had already paid for the triple. We only moved to the triple room on the second and third nights. The invoice was only sent on the second day, which made it confusing – I initially thought I wouldn’t be charged the first night. Ultimately, I contacted Trip.com's customer service, and they were helpful, offering partial compensation. I appreciate their support, but I believe future guests should be aware of these issues."

HHuanqiuyuzhoulvxingjiaHotel Ohla Barcelona boasts an excellent location in the heart of downtown Barcelona, just a few minutes' walk from Plaça de Catalunya, Palau de la Música Catalana, Casa Batlló, and Passeig de Gràcia, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. The hotel's hygiene is impeccable, and its decor is luxurious, with a highly artistic design evident in both the restaurant and the lobby. The staff are attentive and enthusiastic, very proactive, and pay great attention to detail. Upon arrival, we were greeted with complimentary champagne, tea, and iced drinks. The breakfast is high-class, offering champagne, salmon, premium jamón, as well as Chinese pan-fried and steamed dumplings, and miso soup, all of which are delicious. The rooftop outdoor pool provides a spectacular view of the city skyline – truly a luxurious vista! The only drawback in the room was that the shower's temperature control was sluggish, and the water temperature adjustment seemed slightly faulty. Nevertheless, this is an outstanding five-star hotel!
AAndrea_tutiangeThe room was exactly as shown on the booking page. What you see is what you get. Toiletries and disposable slippers were also provided. We arrived late on our first day and didn't have time to buy water, so the hotel gave us a bottle, which was very nice! We booked a standard double room, but it had a small balcony overlooking the pool and outdoor restaurant. The view was lovely.
The security was also very good; nothing was lost during our several nights. We also noticed that the automatic door at the entrance was manually controlled by the front desk, so unauthorized people wouldn't be able to get in.
TTravelBrujaOnix Fira seems like a junior hotel in that it has a great deal of potential, but consistently falls short and seems to be having some crisis of identity and growing pains as a hotel.
TLDR: I would not stay here again at the rate I paid at booking. It is a decent hotel, but one should only pay $105-$120/night for what it offers.
Here’s what’s going right for it:
- very clean facilities and room
- located across from a mall that also has a grocery store , which is great for grabbing anything you forgot to pack or raw veggies
- a nice 2nd floor reading area
- a nice rooftop terrace for doing yoga if you bring a mat
I have 3 years of experience working for major brand hotels. Here’s where I think Onix Fira can stand to improve:
- greeting guests at reception (did a guest have a long journey? Express curiosity, compassion and enthusiasm for the effort they’ve already made. No one wants to be on a 14 hour flight and be received by someone in a bad mood who looks like they have better things to do).
- common sense fixes: a) put hooks on the bathroom doors so guests can hang wet towels, b) have a soap dish for your soap, c) the consequence of imitation stainless steel buttons for the toilet.. they leave fingerprint stains that look gross, d) have a blanket or bedspread available in the room and not just the top sheet even though it’s hot out, e) add hair dryers in bathroom, f) have a complimentary bottle of water ready for guests when they enter tthieir room, especially if it’s 90 degree weather in the summer. That’s humane. And no one charging $200/night+ has any business offering less
- more pool lounge chairs during the summer
- advertise with photos that don’t use a fishbowl lens, be honest that the pool is small
- advertise honestly that one must climb 1.5 slights of stairs to reach pool. That’s an accessibility issue for disabled guests
- have replenished towels available for guests
- have the pool hours actually open during posted hours
- offer activities for solo travelers to socialize; you have a whole beautiful 2nd floor level that could be a great space for games, wine tasting, a silly interaction of your choice. I never saw anyone use this space and activities could make the stay more worthwhile.
- offer concierge services and recommendations
- have a manager on duty available to talk to guests 7 days/week
-consider different hallway lighting than red light; red light feels like a *******
Some specific stuff that went wrong in my stay:
- key card for room stopped working after one night
- power/electricity/AC went out 3x in one night
- no one advertised there was construction in front of the hotel .. a total eyesore and noisy during weekdays
- drunk guy wandering my floor thst no one stopped at reception and/or no one accompanied him to his room to make sure he wasn’t upsetting
- no manager or person with decision making power was available to answer questions
- no complimentary services offered for various inconveniences, not even empathy offered
Hope things get better!
GGuest UserThe room was quite spacious; my friend and I had no problem opening up both our suitcases. The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent, making showers and hair washing quite comfortable. The location is pretty good too – a bit far from the subway but there's a bus stop right outside. It's super convenient for getting to Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, and Sagrada Família. The area feels safe, with plenty of food and drink options nearby. The staff were very friendly and spoke English fluently, so communication was a breeze.
However, there were a few issues. Firstly, there was no shower curtain for the bathtub, so the bathroom floor was soaked every time we showered, and it got quite chilly after a while. Secondly, the duvet didn't have a proper cover; instead, two sheets were used above and below it, and all three layers were tucked in so tightly under the mattress by the staff that we had to struggle to pull the duvet out every night. We ended up asking the front desk not to make our beds for the rest of our stay. Though, I hear this duvet cover situation might be common in Europe. Lastly, the soundproofing was really poor. We were lucky our neighbors weren't too noisy, and my friend and I aren't particularly sensitive to sound, but you could honestly hear every little thing happening next door. All in all, it was a mixed bag, but for the price and location, we couldn't really expect much more.
TtaeliThe room equip everything you need, but it's a bit small. The location is very good, can walk 15 minutes to the beach and 30 minutes to the main spots
GGuest UserAfter a lot of deliberation and some safety concerns, I finally booked this place, and it was absolutely fantastic! The location is super convenient, really close to the subway. The residential area is clean and safe, and there's a supermarket right across the street, which was incredibly handy for getting food. The biggest surprise was booking a room with a terrace – totally worth it! Every evening, I'd enjoy a drink on the terrace while taking in the mountain views. Such a lovely experience, and amazing value for money!
GGuest UserIt was a very clean accommodation and plenty of towels were provided.
It was a little inconvenient because laundry was done in a shared facility on the 5th floor, and I was a little disappointed that they assigned me a room with a rear view without even asking how many rooms had a view of the Sagrada. There is a rest area and a pool on the rooftop, so it would be nice when the weather is nice. The location is far from major tourist attractions, so it's a bit inconvenient to take the subway every day, so if I had to do it again, I think I'd pick it near Plaza Catalunya.
GGuest UserThe room itself was really good: clean, comfortable and spacious. However, my first impression of the stay and the stuff of the hotel was suboptimal, which coloured the whole experience.
I arrived at the hotel at about 1 p.m. First thing that surprised me was the fact that there were actually 2 hotels and only one of them had a check-in desk, to find which I had to ask around. When I finally arrived at the reception, I was second in line as there were some people checking out. While I was waiting a family (parents and a child) came in, and then one more group of travellers arrived. When the receptionist was done with the people who were before me, I asked to be checked in. In response, I got told that she was going to check the family in first. She wasn’t apologetic or nice about, she told me this as if that was what always happened and not that people got served in the order of their arrival. I am sure the family really appreciated what she’d done and I wouldn’t have minded either if that action was followed with acknowledgement of this not being okay and an offer of some services to recover their reputation. Not only had I not got an apology or anything like that but also I was again bypassed for registration as the receptionist decided to invite 5 people who came in later on to check them out. At that point me and other people in the line were quite baffled by the behaviour and understood that there was nothing fair about this interaction.
After I was finally checked in and went back to the other side of the street for my hotel, the room pleasantly surprised me. It was clean and had all the necessary amenities. However, I was a bit confused at first by the thing you need to do to get electricity. I was told by a friend that the system of inserting the key card into a specific slot in order to get electricity is now the norm, but this month I’ve been to 5 different hotels and all of them had different systems and none of them were this particular one, so I personally would’ve appreciated a heads up or an informative poster on the door. The only downside of the room that I found was that that side of the street was quite loud. It was much better with the windows closed, however, if you are a light sleeper, I recommend taking ear plugs.
The rest of the stay went pretty okay for me, but that first experience unfortunately is something I’ll never forget.
If you are travelling as a family, I would imagine this hotel would prioritise you over other guests any time, so maybe that’s just who they cater to. As a solo traveler, however, this was not what I was expecting.
GGuest UserThe check in experience was so horrible. After I presented my passport to the receptionists (3 guys) in hotel front desk, they kept requesting me to show the boarding pass of my cancelled flight. If i could not show it, they don’t allow me to check in. I argued with them why I have to show my boarding pass and how can I have boarding pass if my flight is cancelled. They insisted I have to show, otherwise I could not check in. Their attitudes were so rude and I spent almost 40 min to show all documents I have on-hand, then they gave me my room key. The room assigned to me is not so comfortable because it is on ground floor without window facing outside streets. I don’t think it is tourist friendly at all.
GGuest UserThis hotel boasts an excellent location, very close to Sagrada Familia and the metro station. Although I didn't try the hotel breakfast, there's a cheap and delicious breakfast spot just a two-minute walk away that opens at 7 AM. The front desk staff were all very friendly, and check-in was a breeze.
The downside is that the rooms are generally a bit old and small, and the walls are not well soundproofed. In my room, there was only a duvet cover and no duvet, which the front desk said they couldn't provide, so it was a bit cold at night. There were also no mouthwash cups in the room.
