"Pros: Great location, right next to UCL, a five-minute walk from Euston Station, and about a ten-minute walk from King's Cross Station. You can get there by bus, just get off at Russell Square. The British Museum is also within walking distance. There are many restaurants and convenience stores around the hotel, which is very convenient. Cons: The facilities are old, and small rooms are common in London, so I won't dwell on that. The sink is incredibly small, only about 30 cm wide, which feels very cramped. My biggest complaint is that the window is as thin as paper; I've never seen such thin windows in the UK. It offers absolutely no sound insulation, and the street noise outside is enormous. The walls are also thin; you can clearly hear even the slightest movement from next door. No wonder the hotel doesn't provide any other disposable items, only two pairs of earplugs."

"Overpriced and certainly not “Superior” We stayed at the Strand Palace expecting a much higher standard considering the price and reputation of the hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The “Superior” Room Please don’t call a room “Superior” when it’s the size of a shoebox. The room was incredibly small and certainly didn’t feel superior in any way. Even the television was so tiny that you practically needed binoculars to watch it from the bed. Water Dripping From the Ceiling Outside our room there was a bucket on the floor collecting water that was dripping from the ceiling. Seeing this in a hotel charging these prices really doesn’t give the impression of a premium establishment. Poor Bar Service We went to have a drink in the restaurant/bar and approached the bar to order. A member of staff specifically told us not to order at the bar because a waiter would come over and take our order. We then sat waiting for around 10 minutes . If you’re going to tell customers they can’t order their own drinks and must wait for table service, then you need to actually provide the table servicei in adequate time The Price The price for one night was extortionate for what we received. I appreciate that this is a prime central London location, but location alone doesn’t justify these prices when the room, facilities and service don’t match the standard you’d expect. Overall For me, the Strand Palace felt like a glorified hotel charging a huge premium because of its location and name recognition. A “Superior” room should actually feel superior, the building shouldn’t have buckets catching water from the ceiling, and guests shouldn’t be left sitting around after specifically being told to wait for service. Great location? Absolutely. Good value for money? Definitely not."

"The location is excellent, very quiet and safe, but transportation isn't very convenient. It's quite far from the train station, with only a bus stop nearby. There's a pier, Milebank, about a 5-minute walk away, but the RB6 service is infrequent and ends early. There's a Sainsbury's also within a 5-minute walk. The room is a bit small but not cramped, and the design is nice; you could even call it a suite. It has a modern feel. However, the amenities are truly lacking. For a price over 2,000, there are no slippers or toothbrushes. Many of the front desk staff are Indian, and the service feels very stingy. On the positive side, the hygiene is good, it's very clean, and business seems to be doing well. The rooftop gym is unique; although small, it offers great views."

"I booked a windowless room, and it was truly windowless. If that bothers you, then don't book this room, as you really can't tell if it's day or night outside. Before checking in, I saw some comments saying the hotel would transfer guests to a partner hotel, so I was relieved that I was able to check in smoothly without any transfers. The location is convenient, not far from Chinatown or Big Ben. Overall, it was good, but they do charge for luggage storage after check-out."

"The location was convenient for getting around. While it's close to the station, it's not right in front of it, so it might be a bit challenging if you're lugging a big suitcase. You could tell the building was a bit old from the creaky floors, but the room itself was clean and the air conditioning worked well, making for a comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet had the same menu every day, but the food was delicious."

"Pros: Great location! Super close to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the Thames, the London Eye, St. James's Park, and Buckingham Palace. Plus, the Tube station is just a 2-minute walk away. The breakfast was good, and the front desk offered free luggage storage. Cons: There are so many fire doors! You literally encounter one every few steps. From the front desk to my room, I had to go through 6 doors, which might be a bit much for those with trypophobia. My room had a small window, but it was completely sealed shut, making it feel a bit stuffy, even though there was a ventilation system. I'm not sure if this is common in other hotels. I didn't dare to turn on the AC, fearing poor air circulation, which left me feeling a bit uneasy. The mattress was too soft, causing back pain."

"Lovely stay! This was my 3rd stay in this hotel, and have never had faults before. The staff were lovely, attentive, and access was easy at all hours. The location is amazing and cleanliness was flawless. The original room we had booked was unavailable, so we were ‘upgraded’ from a 3 person room, to a 4 person room on the third floor. However, we had requested a room close to the elevator as a family member has a disability, but this was overlooked, and couldn’t have been further away. In my previous stays, the rooms were soundproof, but this time, we were clearly placed towards a nightclub, and could hear ‘thumping’ while in the room until 3am both nights. And unfortunately we couldn’t be provided with more pillows ‘due to demand’. Despite this, it was a great stay, would stay again and would recommend, understanding that demand is high and the sounds of London are almost impossible to block out entirely! And I do believe the staff sincerely tried their utmost to accommodate our requests where possible!"

"An affordable 4-star hotel, located just a 6-minute walk from Paddington Station. This station is a major hub with multiple Underground lines, offering direct connections to and from the airport, plus train services, making transportation incredibly convenient. There are also supermarkets and restaurants nearby, providing excellent amenities in a safe and quiet neighborhood!"

"The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to Trafalgar Square, making it easy to reach all of London's famous attractions. There's a wealth of tube and bus connections nearby. I mostly took buses to enjoy the scenery, rather than the underground. The hotel is also within walking distance of Chinatown, perfect for a stroll and a bite to eat. However, the hotel has an annex, and I was assigned a room on the ground floor of the annex, which initially felt like it was all underground. While the hotel has been refurbished, the building itself is still quite old overall."
