This was a last-minute trip to Tohoku and Hokkaido. Since I was staying in Sendai for the last few days and wanted to enjoy breakfast, dinner, and onsen (hot springs) at a nearby hotel, I decided to visit Akiu Onsen, which I hadn't been to before.
The hotel thoughtfully provided a shuttle bus between Sendai Station and the hotel, which was very convenient.
The front desk service was excellent. The onsen area was large, and the dinner was very good (including any extra meals I purchased).
The breakfast was relatively disappointing; there weren't any particularly appealing dishes, and the quality was just average.
Although I always chose to bathe and soak in the public bath, I also used the bathroom in my room, and my family members weren't used to going to the public bath. However, the problem was that even when I adjusted the temperature to over 50 degrees Celsius, the water temperature in the room's bathroom was only between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, and adjusting it further didn't change anything. I wonder if there's something wrong with that.
In conclusion, for a hotel with a normal temperature, I believe there are other better options in the Akiu Onsen area.
The Hotel zuiho provides ideal accommodation in the Akiu hot spring spa resort for a wide range of travellers.

The dinner buffet was great, with a wide variety of choices, including Sendai specialties like charcoal-grilled beef tongue, crab legs, Shiroishi Umen noodles, and Hirata pork. The onsen uses 'Tabibijin' bath products. There's also a good selection of souvenirs for sale. The room was quite spacious too.

We came to Akiu mainly to see Lu Xun's former residence, but the hotel itself was also great. Although there wasn't much of a view outside the window, Akiu Great Falls is just a short drive away. The front desk gave me a room on the top floor. The food, especially, deserves a special mention. My boyfriend ate 6 plates of the freshly grilled beef tongue, but he was still outdone by the Japanese gentleman next to us – I counted, he had 7 plates! I won't post other pictures as I see everyone else has posted plenty; I'll just share one of the massage chair. You can enjoy the view while getting a massage. It's very quiet during the day, and you can use it as much as you like without needing coins, which is much more generous than many other hotels. The parking lot is also spacious, so there's no need to worry about not finding a spot if you return late.

Stayed one night in the main building. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with good amenities. Our package included both buffet breakfast and dinner, which was a nice touch. At check-in, guests are asked to select their preferred dining times. Since the restaurant can get quite busy, I recommend choosing the earliest slot for a more relaxed experience. The onsen facilities were decent and provided a chance to unwind. Overall, it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

I've stayed here about 5 or 6 times now, and every visit, the cleanliness is impeccable and the service is excellent. The staff's polite language and their commitment to ensuring guests never feel uncomfortable truly put me at ease.
This time, for the first time, I opted for a room-only stay as I wanted to enjoy a relaxing hot spring trip without any interference. (Previously, my best friend and I always chose plans with breakfast and dinner.)
This kind of stay is also very reasonable, and given the reliable service, I'll continue to choose Rantei for all my future visits to Akiu Onsen, rather than trying other inns.
Having just turned 60, I'm not sure how many more times I'll be able to visit...
Thank you so much for everything.

The old large hot spring hotel is well decorated, the lobby is beautiful, the koi is very beautiful, the room is very large, the hot spring is relatively lackluster, especially disappointed is the semi-buffet dinner, I have lived in many hot spring hotels with one berth and two meals, this one eats worse. The free shuttle bus from Sendai Station is good.

The hotel staff are friendly, polite and helpful.
The dinner dishes are exquisitely presented, and the breakfast buffet has a wide selection of food.
The bedroom facilities are complete and tidy, and the wet and dry toilets are separated.
The hot springs are comfortable, but you need to walk up more than 40 stairs to get to the outdoor open-air bath.
The only drawback was that the toilet could not be flushed. After calling the staff, they immediately provided assistance but could not repair it immediately. In the end, I had to use the toilet in another room.

A cute surprise with a welcome drink
What is this💕I'm so happy
Keyless
It's a Japanese-style room, but it's a comfortable twin bedroom
It looks old, but it's been renovated wonderfully
The amenities are also fine
There are things like a small handbag for the bath
The best thing about it is
The food
The concept is to value privacy
It's rare to find a place where you prepare food next to each other. It's more fun to be next to each other than facing each other!
Beautiful food
And delicious
A series of impressions
For dessert, you can choose your preference in a separate room
The hospitality was better than that of a first-class hotel.
The service was also wonderful 💓
You can order drinks online
But it was difficult to get through
It was a bit slow
I felt like an old man
Nice support👍
There is no shower or bath in the room
But it was a hotel of impeccable quality

The location is in the center of Hot Spring Street, but the curtain is small and easy to miss. Parking is inside. It belongs to a small and beautiful Japanese-style hotel. The hot springs are said to be directly hung at the source. The open-air hot springs are very hot. excellent service. The hotel is small but the facilities are complete, clean and tidy, good value for money

Amazing
CcocozhengwenExtremely satisfied with my stay! The room was quite spacious. I'll definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Sendai next time, and I'll recommend it to friends who need a place to stay. The drip coffee provided by the hotel was also surprisingly good.
MMuhammad Irsyad Bin ZainiExceeded Expectations – Perfect for Business Travel
I stayed at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Sendai Nishiguchi PREMIER on May 3, 2026, for a quick business trip. I was thoroughly impressed by the overall quality of the experience.
Why I Recommend It:
Flawless Experience: I rated every category—Location, Cleanliness, Service, and Facilities—a perfect 5 out of 5.
Ideal Room Setup: The Moderate Double Room was clean and well-appointed, providing a comfortable space to rest and work. It was specifically a non-smoking room, which was appreciated for its fresh atmosphere.
Great for Professionals: As a business traveler, the hotel’s location and efficiency made my logistics effortless.
The ”PREMIER” branding truly reflects the higher standard of service and amenities offered here. If you are visiting Sendai and need a reliable, high-quality hotel, this is an excellent choice.
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite new, but it's just a standard business hotel. It doesn't offer any significant advantages over competitors like Toyoko Inn; the facilities and environment are pretty much the same. I'm not sure why it's priced higher 🤷♀️ The only unique feature is the Refa hairdryer and shower head, which are both quite good~
GGuest UserJust a few minutes' walk from Hirose-dori subway station, the hotel's location is extremely convenient, surrounded by numerous dining options. Having a convenience store on the ground floor is also a reassuring plus.
We stayed in a moderate non-smoking room for two. While the queen-sized bed was comfortable, it felt a bit cramped for two, though it would likely feel quite spacious for a solo traveler. The mattress firmness was just right, and the air purifier was a welcome amenity.
The bath area was nicely separated from the toilet, preventing any concerns about water splashing out, and the rain shower was a pleasant feature.
The front desk staff were friendly and left a positive impression.
One minor point is that the air conditioning throughout the hotel, including the lobby and hallways, felt a bit too strong. The complimentary coffee service in the lobby was a nice touch, but it was a shame that it couldn't be taken back to the room.
Overall, it's a clean hotel with excellent service, and we left feeling very satisfied.
GGuest UserA very comfortable stay. The hotel is close to Sendai Station and there are several carparks nearby. It was also very convenient to have a FamilyMart next to the lobby on the ground floor. The laundry area is quite small and would have been nicer if there were more machines available. The dryer was unfortunately not very efficient. Service was great and the hotel was very clean. Rooms were of a good size. Would return.
GGuest UserThis hotel in Sendai is extremely friendly to international travelers. One of the staff members can speak Chinese, which was incredibly helpful for us. She assisted us with many things during our stay and helped arrange luggage storage before check-in, making everything very smooth and convenient.
The room is also slightly larger compared to many hotels in Japan, which made the stay more comfortable. The location is excellent as well — it is very close to Sendai Station, and there are supermarkets and many shops nearby, making it very convenient.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay and there is really nothing to complain about. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers visiting Sendai.
AAnonymous UserWe were to people during 3 nights.
The pictures are from after our stay, that’s why it’s a bit messy. It was very tidy and nice before we moved in for our stay.
It was quite close to the station and a lot of restaurants close by, and extremely close to the morning market as well, which was nice.
The room was very nice and clean. A little bit spacious as well. If you have a suitcase I think you maybe manage to open it somehow. We didn’t use any cleaning service. They also had a sign you could use if you didn’t want new towels (which I thought was good from the environmental perspective).
The people were nice and polite. The amenity was good as well. They had de basic stuff, which was good.
Overall we think we had a very nice stay at this hotel.

Reception is helpful even though we arrived at 11am, she helped to store our luggages snd gave full explanation.
Close to Sendai station but aware of losing direction so be sure to ask local for direction first when heading to hotel.
Breakfast is excellent and those ladies worked in the canteen were professional.
Quiet and sleep well.
Lots of amenities were placed near the elevator at G/F.
Lucky that day were sunny so using the Loople bus to get around but the next day (4/Apr/2026
Unfortunately it rained and getting cold at Matsshima
GGuest UserLocation a little away from the centre, no that easy to get to but in a quiet residential area. Very friendly staff with good service. Also allowed to leave baggage after check in. The lady who helped with that also had perfect English. Unfortunately I ended up at a time where the prices were extortionate due to some event happening but this was the most affordably priced option without sacrificing too much, also one of the very few with rooms available at that time too. Happy with this and would recommend if you don't mind a bit of distance to the centre.
みみっさまI was a bit worried because the price was so low, but it turned out to be a great hotel with good access and it was clean for the price. I'd definitely stay here again if I get the chance.
