To my surprise, it exceeded all my expectations! Hygiene, environment, service, and facilities all scored a perfect 5, making it the highlight of my trip. 【About the Room and View】 As described during booking, I stayed in a room with club lounge access. The moment I opened the door, I was truly amazed – a huge floor-to-ceiling window directly overlooked Sakurajima volcano! Whether it was watching the volcano faintly appear through the morning mist or admiring the city lights come alive in the evening, this view was absolutely breathtaking. The room's interior design was modern and simple with excellent natural light. Staying in such a spacious environment by myself instantly lifted my spirits. 【About Facilities and Service】 As someone meticulous about details, the hotel's cleanliness put me completely at ease; every corner was spotless. - Gym: The equipment was new and comprehensive. Running on the treadmill while enjoying the view outside made the workout feel effortless. - Club Lounge: This was a major highlight of my stay! The environment was elegant and quiet, offering not only comfortable sofa areas for relaxing and reading but also dedicated dining areas and a bar. For a solo traveler like me, it provided both a sense of social security and the freedom of personal space. 【Highly Recommended: Natural Onsen and Foot Bath 🛁】 This was definitely the biggest bonus of my stay! The hotel has its own natural onsen, which is a savior for travelers who have been walking all day. The most thoughtful touch was the outdoor foot bath. If you're traveling alone like me or are a bit shy about public large onsens, this foot bath is absolutely perfect! Sitting on the wooden steps, soaking your feet in the warm spring water, and looking up at the indoor garden scenery – the feeling of relaxation is truly indescribable. You get to enjoy the healing benefits of the onsen without any awkwardness, offering maximum privacy! 【In Conclusion】 If you're traveling to Kagoshima alone or looking for a place to relax and enjoy the scenery, the Sheraton Kagoshima is definitely worth a second visit. The hotel is centrally located near Tenmonkan shopping area, around 2-3 bus stops away from Kagoshima-Chuo station. (May take a while to walk) The room is comfortable and clean, and room space is surprisingly decent for 2 ppl with opened luggage. Wifi signal is not the strongest but acceptable. There's also public onsen available which is good

Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient. It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking. Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

The location is great, right in front of the tram stop, and there are many good restaurants nearby. The public bath is also a nice touch for unwinding after a long day. I booked a twin room, and as expected for a Japanese business hotel, it was small. I had to open my suitcase near the entrance as there wasn't a separate luggage rack. On the second floor, there's a reception area where you can enjoy unlimited coffee and other drinks. While the amenities aren't extensive, they are well-stocked at the reception. There's also a gym, and the breakfast restaurant offers a fantastic view, especially for catching the sunrise over Sakurajima in the morning.

It was our first time travelling to Kagoshima and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. There are no keys or cards issued for room access, and all you need is the pin code or QR code. I really like that the room has the essential items that you will need during your stay - microwave, stove, washing machine. The hotel do not do housekeeping on a daily basis but it was all good for us as they do refresh the towels everyday. They also provide a water dispenser and ice machine at Level 1. The location of the hotel is fantastic - bars and food joints are just walking distance away and there is a 7-11 at each end of the street. I would highly recommend the hotel for any travellers.

Make sure to book Banvina Coffee in advance, otherwise you might end up like me, walking to the back door thinking it was closed. If you want a convenient location, this is definitely the place. It's very close to the central station, less than a 10-minute walk. The café downstairs has great taste; hotel guests get a free coffee every day, which is fantastic! The receptionist, although her English wasn't very good, was very cute ☺️ She even turned on the lights and air conditioning before check-in. The hotel is really generous. The environment looks quite clean overall. I would definitely choose this place again if I have the chance to go to Kagoshima again.

I was impressed by the friendly staff, all of whom had the biggest smiles. Kagoshima Chuo Station is about a 20-minute walk away, straight along the main street in front of the hotel. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of local Kagoshima ingredients and traditional dishes, as well as a wide selection of sweets, making it a delightful experience from the start of the day.

Room a little too small, but smack in the middle of Kumamoto. Had the pleasure of witnessing the Ohara festival during our tripl.

Let’s start with good things. There is little kitchen you can use. There is free tea. There are two showers and one toilet room near the former entrance. Washing machine is free. The place is opened 24 hours. Wifi is fine. The mat and pillow are comfy. English-friendly. Now, some bad things. It seems that the place knew much better days. Now, as many others, it became a home for those who work, not travel. It means it is still noisy after 22:00 in the dorm room. Guys can turn on the lights and leave them on. Locker doors slamming, etc. A few tenants did not care about clearing shower after them, same with the toilet slippers that are mandatory but tenants use the ordinary ones. If you are sensitive for this, consider choosing another place or at least a private room.

The hotel is about a 3-4 minute walk from Takamibashi Station on the Kagoshima City Tram in Kagoshima City. It's also close to Kagoshima Chuo Station, making it convenient for dining and shopping. While the building itself is old, there's a water server and coffee machine behind the front desk that guests can use free of charge. Amenities, with the exception of toothbrushes, were chosen from a table next to the front desk and taken to go. There were a few inconvenient points, rather than issues that bothered me. Luggage cannot be stored here before check-in. You must store your luggage at the affiliated Hotel Taisei Annex, located a 3-4 minute walk away. The front desk is also closed in the morning, so you must take your luggage to Hotel Taisei Annex. This may be unavoidable in order to cut labor costs, but as a guest, I found it inconvenient when encountering rain or strong winds. The room itself has a workspace for working on a laptop. However, the Wi-Fi environment was poor, with frequent disconnections and timeouts making it unusable. These are areas that could be improved. Concerns The shower water pressure was fine, but the stop positions for the shower and faucet were a bit awkward, so when I came home from outside and went to the bathroom, the water was still running. The faucet switch would be fine if it was tight, but it was loose no matter which way I turned it, making it difficult to adjust. I think repairs are necessary to prevent the water from running continuously. The walls were thin, and I could hear the escort next door, so I couldn't sleep. The front desk staff were very helpful and explained any questions I had clearly. Prices vary greatly depending on when you book, but I might use it again if it's cheaper.
