nnystIt was the most impressive accommodation to rest and live in this trip for me. The price is reasonable. Staff/ owner is very helpful and kind. She introduced me about her own place even I arrived hostel quite late. Her decoration and facility is superb. The kitchen has a lot of stuffs that traveler will be need. It feels like living at home but in the hostel. Location is good to locate near the tram. Also, common room, roof top, the bathroom are nice to rest. The private room (bedroom) is not too small - too big but it was very cozy to stay and manage your stuffs. I can do a little morning stretching in there. Love it! highly recommended for girls and other travellers 💗

Zhuyuanyurun1106Because my bookings were split, my second reservation was for a superior room instead of a deluxe room. However, since it was on a higher floor, the bathroom odor was gone. The room was slightly smaller than the deluxe, but still acceptable. So, I'd recommend trying to get a high-floor room if possible. The parking lot near the hotel is excellent, costing 1200 yen from 3 PM until 11 AM the next day. You can ask the hotel for a discount coupon. When checking out, insert the parking ticket first to calculate the fee, then insert the discount coupon, and finally pay with cash. The ramen shop across from the hotel is quite good too.

Fantastic new hotel! We took a 37sm corner room, large for japan standard Breakfast soread is good and delicious. Hotel beds are also the best so.far (for tjis 10days trup Kyushu) location is ver central, food plentiful..only issue we had is carpark (due to the central location and probably due to Golden Week,), no parking anywhere near the hotel and ended up waiting for more than an hr to park at Times parking which cost 3600 yen till next day. Overall, we highly recommend this hote.l

Guest UserWhen we arrived at the hotel, we couldn't find a parking spot, and then one of the staff members—I think Elly—helped us tremendously to find a parking spot. The staff is very helpful and super friendly.
The hotel is centrally located.
It is very quiet in the hotel itself. The surroundings are also extremely quiet, so we were able to sleep well. The beds were very good.
One minor downside is that they didn't offer drinking water. So you had to get it yourself, and the 7-Eleven was around the corner, so that wasn't really a huge problem.
We enjonyed our stay. Thank you!

The location is great, near to the malls and Kumamoto Castle. The room is great, nice street view and rather spacious. The buffet breakfast is fine, and the coffee served is really good. The only problem I was facing is the room temperature. It was a little warm and stuffy without AC, I could not have a good sleep because of that.

Anonymous UserWe had a pleasant stay at HOTEL MYSTAYS Kumamoto Riverside. The hotel is conveniently located near the city center, making it easy to explore Kumamoto Castle, shopping streets, and local restaurants. The riverside setting also provided a nice atmosphere, especially in the evening.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with the amenities needed for a short stay. The staff were friendly and professional, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient.
The reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that the room space was a bit limited for travelers with larger luggage. However, everything was well-maintained and functional, so it did not significantly impact our stay.
Overall, HOTEL MYSTAYS Kumamoto Riverside offers great value, a convenient location, and reliable service. We would happily stay here again when visiting Kumamoto.

The tea cup in the room was not clean, i wish the hotel payed more attention to that. The hotel itself is very close to the station and the breakfasts are good, I've been there twice and each time the food was a little different. The staff at reception desk is very helpful

Guest UserPros:
1. The hotel is directly opposite Kumamoto Castle, making it very convenient for sightseeing. It's also close to Kumamoto's Kamimachi area.
2. The views are excellent. From the 10th-floor restaurant, you can see Kumamoto Castle, and there's a free self-service beverage machine for unlimited drinks.
3. The room size is generous; a 26-inch suitcase can open completely. The facilities are new and very clean, and the service is good.
Cons:
The streets are very dark at night, and it's quite a distance to the nearest convenience store.

Overall, a fantastic stay! I really appreciated the complimentary drinks and the spacious bathtub in the room. The service was excellent, and I'll definitely be returning for another visit. My only minor critique is that the location isn't the most convenient, but despite that, I found the overall experience to be very satisfactory.

Guest UserI honestly do not know where to start, I booked the hotel without really knowing much about Kumamoto Prefecture. After arriving in Kumamoto City and then realising Ueki Onsen is another 40 minute bus ride I was thinking oh dear where am I staying. After arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the manager of the hotel who showed me to my room and gave me a tour of the facilities. Once settled in I realised there isn't great public transport around and I primarily wanted to see Beppu and Yufuin during my stay, I enquired with the manager on where I might be able to rent a car, with little to no Japanese language under my belt he took it upon himself to reserve a vehicle for me and offered to drive me himself to collect it. He then also said he would take me back to return it a few days later. After my trips to Beppu and Yufui village (Not to be missed) and not to miss the outstanding and beautiful surroundings in Uekimachi and the Aso region. The manager and I set off to return my hire car, on the way back he took me to Kikuchi shrine to pray and also gifted me coffee and cake. They also accommodated me with use of the on site onsen (amazing) after hours as I'm heavily tattooed. I feel truly grateful to have found this hidden gem of rural Japan and if you are thinking of traveling this great country I emplore you to go off the beaten path. I experienced untold kindness during my stay and have memories of a life time. Thank you so much guys
