The Apartment Hotel 11 Nagoya was a very convenient stay. It was super clean and comfortable. It's a walk to the subway and a short walk to other spots. There's lots of stores and restaurants close to the hotel as well. We used the airport bus from Sakae station to Nagoya airport NGO and it was super convenient (cashless service). They also have a bus from the airport that stops at Nagoya Tokyu hotel, which will be even more convenient. Looking forward to the next stay in Nagoya.

The hotel is located near Taiko-dori Exit, but the name is a bit misleading. It's not actually by the Shinkansen exit, but closer to the Meitetsu line. It's still a bit of a walk from the station, and when coming from the airport line, I initially had no idea which way to go to find the hotel. The room was a typical Japanese-style room, as expected—quite small, but perfectly fine for a stay. The bathroom was an integrated unit, and also very clean. The breakfast was really bad ✗✗✗. While it was a ”buffet,” the selection was extremely limited. A few meatballs and some hash browns pretty much made up the entire offering. The dining area was also tiny, only about the size of two guest rooms. However, the service was something I was quite satisfied with ✅✅✅: The front desk had a dual-sided translator that supported multiple languages, making communication very easy. Before checking in, I emailed the hotel about room types and luggage delivery, and they responded quite quickly. The front desk can arrange Yamato Transport (Kuroneko Takkyubin) to send large luggage ahead to your next destination, which saves a lot of effort during your trip. The price varies depending on the luggage size, and delivery usually takes one day (for the Takayama-Hokuriku region).

The biggest plus is the location. As a solo female traveler visiting Nagoya for the first time, I felt very safe. It's only a few minutes' walk from Nagoya Station, and there's an LV store right downstairs. The area reminds me a bit of the shops above Guangzhou's Taikoo Hui. There are plenty of dining options nearby too. However, I had to request housekeeping; my room wasn't cleaned until the fourth day. I later found out it was because I hadn't hung the 'please clean' sign on the door. Other than that, everything else was fine. Hotels in Japan at this price point tend to be on the smaller side. The complimentary breakfast from the bakery downstairs was nice – a donut, a croissant, and a drink every day. It's definitely better value than buying it separately. If you're traveling solo and prioritize safety and convenience, this hotel is a great choice.

The location is great, about a seven to eight-minute walk from Nagoya Station. If you turn right out of the hotel entrance onto another street, there are three other large hotels and a Lawson convenience store – very convenient! The hotel facilities are good, with the breakfast area on the first floor. It's clean, the environment is pleasant, and the service is good, although they no longer have a Chinese translator. I paid 1200 yen to check in early, but why was I assigned a room directly opposite the laundry room? I had to request a change to a west-facing room. A local guest who checked in after me was assigned a superior east-facing room! This needs to be improved!!

Sanco Inn Nagoya I recently stayed at Sanco Inn Nagoya, and overall it was a very pleasant experience, especially for a short trip. 👍 Pros Excellent Location The hotel’s location is one of its biggest advantages. It’s very close to Nagoya Station, which makes it extremely convenient for transportation, whether you’re arriving by Shinkansen or exploring the city. Getting around was easy and stress-free. Plenty of Restaurants Nearby There are many restaurants within walking distance, offering a wide range of options—from local Japanese cuisine to international food. It was nice to have so many dining choices just steps away from the hotel. Convenience Store Nearby There’s also a mini shop (convenience store) close to the hotel, which was very handy. We could easily grab snacks, drinks, or small essentials anytime. Good Breakfast The breakfast was surprisingly good. There was a wide variety of dishes, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. It was a great way to start the day before heading out to explore. 👎 Cons Small Room Size The only downside was that the room was quite small. However, this is quite common in Japan. For us, it wasn’t a big issue since we mainly used the room just to sleep at night. ⭐ Overall If you’re looking for a clean, convenient, and well-located hotel near Nagoya Station, Sanco Inn Nagoya is a great choice. It’s especially suitable for short stays or travelers who prioritize location and practicality over room size. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Every time I come to Nagoya, I stay at this hotel. I love it! It's very close to the JR station, there's a convenience store downstairs, and the room has a huge floor-to-ceiling window! The view is absolutely amazing!

The best choice for a budget solo traveler. It offers free unlimited drinks all day, unlimited curry with rice for breakfast, unlimited fresh ramen noodles at night, and free alcoholic drinks in the evening. There is a lounge on the 11th floor, a public bath with a hot pool and sauna, and free shampoo, body soap, conditioner, hair gel, hair spray, and face and body lotion. It also provides free toothbrushes and razors. The locker fits a 20kg size luggage if not, you can put it at the large luggage compartment and ask for chain with lock at the lobby. There are coin washing machines and dryers available as well. Heads up to those with tattoos: this hotel only has a public bath, and tattoos are not allowed.

My main reason for visiting Nagoya this time was due to bus travel (the Inotani Sugihara line breakdown affected the Hida Limited Express and Takayama Main Line, impacting my Toyama-Takayama-Nagoya itinerary). This led me to discover that Nagoya Station has two bus terminals. One is the JR Nagoya Station (Shinkansen Exit) terminal, located on the plaza outside the Taiko-dori exit. It's very close to the hotel, easily visible, and I timed it at a 5-minute walk. It's very convenient for taking buses to and from Takayama. Although there was road construction, you just follow the barriers and cross the road to get there. The other is the Meitetsu Bus Center (Nagoya). When we arrived via the Meitetsu line from the airport, we dropped off a suitcase at the hotel first, then came back to the Meitetsu Bus Center to catch our bus. This detour took about 40 minutes round trip. Specifically, you walk from 'Sakura-dori Exit' towards 'Taiko-dori Exit' and 'Shinkansen North Exit'. Once you see 'Shinkansen North Exit', walk a few more steps out the door, and that's the JR Nagoya Bus Station. Cross the road to get to the hotel. So, for those using the Meitetsu line, Meitetsu buses, subway, or Takashimaya, it's a bit of a distance. The hotel allows early luggage storage, and check-in is at 2 PM. You can pick up toothbrushes, toothpaste, coffee, and tea from the lobby yourself, but there are no makeup removers or skincare products. You need to use your key card to access the elevators, and two bottles of water are provided daily. The room was new and spacious, allowing us to fully open two large suitcases at the same time. Staying here on our last day was great for organizing our luggage. There's a convenience store next to the hotel and a drugstore across the street.

Although the last renovation was in 2015, the facilities, cleanliness, and service are still quite good. The public area on the first floor is small but includes a microwave, and free hot water and Miso soup are available all day. The location is excellent, very close to the train station. I recommend visiting Atsuta Jingu Shrine and Osu Kannon Temple; Nagoya Castle was just okay. For getting around, the 24-hour subway pass is a great deal, especially since passes in other cities are usually day passes that expire the next day.

It's really clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. There's a coin laundry at the 3rd floor as well as vending machines. There are also toiletries provided for free. One can also rent a night wear for free. The limousine bus stop to the airport is across the street. It's also 4-5 mins walk to either Fushimi and Sakae train stations. You can easily walk from the hotel to the heart of Sakae, Nagoya's downtown.
