An old-school Japanese ryokan. While the facilities are a bit dated, they are well-maintained. The onsen (hot spring) is definitely the highlight, though it's a shame there's no outdoor bath. It's mostly locals staying here, which creates a really nice atmosphere.

Our stay at Meitetsu Inn Nagoya Nishiki was very comfortable and convenient. The location is excellent—close to public transportation, restaurants, and shopping areas, making it easy to explore Nagoya. The staff were polite, friendly, and accommodating, providing smooth check-in and helpful assistance whenever needed. The room was clean, well-maintained, and housekeeping did a great job keeping it tidy every day. Breakfast was satisfying with a good selection, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was quiet and relaxing. Great value for money and highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers.

The stay at BASE LAYER HOTEL Nagoya was overall a pleasant experience, with a nice atmosphere and a modern design that created a comfortable and welcoming environment. The location is very convenient, as the hotel sits within walking distance of Sakae Mirai Tower and Oasis 21, while Nagoya Castle is also not far away. This location suits travelers who prefer to explore the city on foot. The room size is suitable for two people, with a well-organized layout that makes efficient use of space. The hotel offers useful facilities, including luggage storage, laundry service, and an iron, which support both short and medium-length stays. The staff are friendly, maintain a warm attitude, and provide attentive service, which enhances the overall experience. However, some dust appears in certain areas, so guests, especially those with dust sensitivity, should take extra care. Despite this minor issue, the hotel provides good value for money, and I would choose to stay here again on a future visit to Nagoya.

The only downside of this hotel is the view – you're looking at a building and a large chimney. Everything else is great, though. The room isn't huge. What's really convenient are the complimentary mini-sized toiletries downstairs. It's so handy when you're traveling and need makeup remover and face wash, and they're actually quite good quality. We also ate at the downstairs restaurant a few times, and it was pretty good. The location is about 500 meters from the subway station, which is a decent, not too far, not too close walk.

I can only say that the price we paid when booking 2 months in advance was somewhat justified for this hotel. The exterior looks decent, but the inside is very old and worn. My biggest complaint is about the escalator. Since the front desk is on the second floor and we arrived around 2 PM, the escalator was only going down 😓. There were stairs next to it, but our luggage was too heavy for us girls to carry up. After searching for a long time, we found that if you want to use the elevator, you have to go through the main entrance, then turn left and follow a 'secret' path. There's a button 🔘 at the entrance; press it to let the front desk know you're checking in, and they'll open the door! However, when we came back in the evening, the escalator was going up 😓. Maybe we just arrived at the wrong time! Service: The female receptionist's attitude was mediocre, no smile, and she seemed rather unenthusiastic. She felt a bit stern! Facilities: The hot springs ♨️ on the third floor downstairs are quite nice and seem to have been renovated recently. They feel out of place with the old, worn-out hotel! The room facilities themselves are quite complete, but the soundproofing is a bit poor!

About 5-7 min walk from the nearest subway, can access the Sakae, Central station conveniently. Was given a connecting room in level 14, Room view has fantastic tower view, night scene was the best. Breakfast is decent, but the place is just too cramp. Not able to enjoy breakfast comfortably.

We stayed in a triple room with three beds, which was quite spacious by Japanese standards. The hotel is within walking distance from Sakae Station, and we walked several times to Osu, which is about two train stops away. The walk itself was enjoyable, with plenty of shopping options and eateries along the way. However, the downside is that the hotel feels very outdated. The beds are very hard, and the windows are quite small. The room is carpeted and feels slightly musty, although an air purifier is provided. The bathroom is especially old-looking — the toilet has a yellowish tone and the bidet system is outdated. That said, from what I observed, many hotels in Nagoya seem to have smaller windows and older designs. Front desk service is basic, with quick and efficient check-in and check-out, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, Nagoya is a great city to visit, but next time I would look forward to staying at a higher-quality hotel. With newer options like the upcoming Conrad near Sakae Station, the accommodation experience in Nagoya will hopefully improve significantly.

Right in the heart of Nagoya's Sakae district, this hotel offers fantastic value for the price. The room was exceptionally clean, and the front desk service was excellent. If you're on a budget, I highly recommend it. Of course, don't expect a five-star experience. Its proximity to dining, shopping, and transportation is incredibly convenient, which I absolutely loved. Thanks to the hotel and Trip.com for a very pleasant stay!

Satisfied! The location is great, within walking distance to major attractions like the Science Museum, Nagoya Tower, and Nagoya Castle. There are also many convenience stores and dining options nearby, making it super convenient. Definitely recommend!

A nice place for its price. It is supposed for pairs who stay for one night, but I was alone and stayed for several nights. There is a choice of 6 types of breakfasts, which were rather hearty. There was no room service (i.e. cleaning) in my room during my stay but I didn't need it anyway. Also, they don't give you a key, the door is locked automatically and you have to ask the staff at the reception to open the door when you return from outside. All in all, it is purposed for one-night stays, but its ok to stay longer.
