Location 8/10: close to the JR station where the buses are as well. close to a convenient store where you can buy all your necessities. for those who wants to take a taxi, there's one station nearby. Restaurants are a little too far, the closest sento is a little too far. Staff 8/10: mostly self services, teas and water and other stuff near the check in counter. they have staff to clean your beds for your, if you wish (open or close the door to your bed in the morning). facilities 5/5: Shower, sinks, and toilets are very clean. They provide the towels for every night you stay there.

Overall: This hotel is superb! Location: It's about a 10-minute walk from Wakayama JR Station. There are restaurants on the south street nearby and a FamilyMart, but generally, the area feels a bit desolate. However, that's perfectly fine. Service: Excellent! You can store your luggage. When checking in, you choose your breakfast and delivery times. We tried Japanese, Western, curry, and udon, and both of us thought they were all very good. Room Amenities: This is absolutely incredible! They even have a curling iron in the room! Plus, many other items like hair clips and hair ties – basically, everything you could think of is provided. Additionally, on the first floor, they have various brands of shampoo and shower gel available if you're interested (there are also some in the room). Every day you can pick up some snacks and drinks on the first floor (limited per person). Although I never used this service because I was always full after eating out, I really appreciate it! Cleanliness: Very clean! Room Size: Satisfied! It's a very spacious room for Japan, with a separate wet and dry area.

Nice view nice place, keep you relax staying in the hotel, free parking right beside the hotel, new experience of dinner with great cheese, and a set of breakfast with unlimited coffee give you refresh in morning. But beware of their dinner time at 5:30 and breakfast time in 7:30 that may different than expected.

The hotel is situated at a secluded corner of Wakayama prefecture. It is much preferable to drive here rather than relying on the infrequent hotel shuttle. Public transport is otherwise non existent. There are no restaurants around the hotel. However the hotel provides delicious meals with abundant fresh seafood. The in room dining experience is superb. The hotel staff service is impeccable. The room has a spectacular sea view allowing you to see the sunset on clear days. The onsen also faces the sea which provides a relaxing experience. A downside is that the hotel does not seem to sanitize the slippers for indoor use. All hotel guests had to change to their slippers to access their indoor facilities.

The room was clean and the facilities were complete. The front desk gentleman was warm and polite to take me to the room. The location was not far from Wakayama Jr. The downside was that there was no elevator and it was not suitable for girls with large luggage.

They also thoughtfully provided a bucket for us to indulge in the glowing enchantment of firecrackers and even tidied the mess up afterwards. But the best memory of our stay here was definitely the culinary experience given by the chef extraordinaire — Master Chef Matsuki. His creations were nothing short of a gastronomic revelation. Each dish was a testament to his unwavering dedication and profound respect for the ingredients. Oh, the flavors — titillating all our taste buds in every bite. And the generosity of Chef Matsuki in sharing his culinary wisdom, guiding us on how to savor each morsel, elevated the entire dining experience to sheer perfection. The language barrier was no obstacle to the remarkable team of staff members who graced us with their presence. Their command of the English language was commendable, and even those who were not entirely fluent went above and beyond to cater to our every whim and need. Their genuine desire to assist us was palpable, leaving us feeling truly valued and cared for. I am already making plans to return with my beloved family, as I know they too deserve to bask in the unparalleled warmth and luxury that this establishment exudes. This hotel has set the bar impossibly high, redefining the meaning of hospitality and creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Great place to stay close to the train and us station. Staff super nice and friendly, they helped me accommodate on a quiet room as I'm a light sleeper. Very recommended, I would definitely stay here again!

Smile Hotel Wakayama is conveniently located right beside Wakayama Castle, making it a great choice for sightseeing and exploring the area. Overall, we had a good stay and a pleasant experience. Although the hotel’s renovation and interior are slightly outdated, the room was still clean and comfortable. Considering the price and the excellent location, it is more than acceptable and offers great value for money. What truly stood out was the excellent service from the front desk staff. They were extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. We encountered a problem with our car during our stay, and the staff kindly assisted us by contacting the police and helping us handle the situation, which we really appreciated. Overall, it’s a great option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly hotel with a fantastic location and outstanding service.

The room is small and the location is remote, but the hotel scenery is really great! The hotel restaurant needs to be booked in advance, and there are no convenience stores nearby, and the restaurant is also far away. Remember to book a restaurant when you check in, otherwise you will have to go hungry. The hotel does not have Chinese service, and English communication is a bit difficult. The hotel's public bathing is free, and there are open-air bath seats. It was windy and rainy on the day I went there, and it was super cold. It was very comfortable to bathe. The location of the men's and women's bathrooms will be swapped, so remember to look at the sign at the door and don't go the wrong way.

The hotel owner's service is generally the same, a little impatient, obviously the phone number registered on the self-check-in machine is not my phone number, I have not registered, I don't know what's going on, the boss said that this is a very serious problem. In addition, I wanted to cancel the reservation because of my stomach pain, but because the order is not cancelled and refunded, even if the platform communicated with the boss, the boss still resolutely refused, so I felt a little bad, I could only go there on the same day to check in  Facilities: There is a bathtub, there are few places, the bed frame is wooden, the mattress is clean, there are small lights and small fans on the side of the bed, and the fan connection can be used as USB charging. There are two tables in the living room, wash basins, wash basins for combing, disposable toothbrushes, lockers, boiled water you can boil hot water yourself. The environment is 10 points clean, and there are not many people when I checked in. There are only two or three people in 10 beds.
