"Kendwa really is one of the best spots on the island—especially since the beach is clean, white, and doesn't pull out nearly as much with the tides like other parts of Zanzibar, making it perfect for swimming whenever you feel like jumping in. Here is a quick snapshot recap of what makes your stay there so great: * The Rooms: Spacious and comfortable, giving everyone plenty of room to relax and unwind after a full day out in the sun. * The Vibe: A great mix of quiet relaxation by day and lively energy by night—from chilling on the sandy shore to taking in the beachside atmosphere, live music, and dancing. * The Hospitality: Friendly, welcoming hotel staff keeping things running smoothly so you can just focus on enjoying your trip. * Great Location: Being steps away from local cafes, great dining right at the main bar, and easy access to ocean activities makes it super convenient. Enjoy the rest of your time taking in the ocean views and relaxing on the beach!"

"I strongly recommend this place. 1. Cleanliness is awesome. Brand new renovation. Spotless and you can hardly find any dust. The cleaning lady actually swiped the floor thoroughly. 2. Best location. Across the road is Junction Mall. The Carrefour in there supplies you with a lot of very affordable foods and goods. 3. Service is perfect. Agent 24 hours online and promptly responded to messages. 4.Reliable WiFi. The sofa and TV made me forget to check out the gym and pool The only drawbacks are occasional power outage and mosquitos at night, but these are not something the host can control. Good value for the money."

"I booked this hotel two months in advance, paying 980 RMB per night including breakfast. However, on the day I checked in, my colleague found the price was 580 RMB per night with breakfast. Early check-in cost an extra $30. I appreciated that the power outlets were universal Chinese type, so I didn't need an adapter. The breakfast offered steamed buns, noodles, and chopsticks. While it was nothing special, it was decent enough. The outdoor seating at the restaurant was very comfortable. On the downside, the room facilities were outdated, and the hygiene was just average. There was a strange smell from the wardrobe and the sink, and some areas were quite dirty. On the positive side, the staff were all very nice. If the price had been under 500 RMB per night, I would have found it acceptable. But paying nearly 1000 RMB per night, I felt like I got a raw deal."

"My stay was good and safe, its near the supermarket and easily accessible area, quiet, i would definetely go again next time and he was quite supportive when i didnt know that this wasnt an actual hotel but just a room in an apartment complex, He even changed a room for me when i thought the first one was underwhelming, not an actual room, check first photo but he later transfered me to a proper room. It was a good travel experience and learning for me as it seems i wasnt informed enough on the terminologies in accomodation. Thanks."

"I am quite satisfied with the overall facilities of the hotel, but the body odor of the cleaner (male) is so strong that I can still smell the odor on my body after cleaning my room. No one came to clean the room from the first day to the second day."

"I stayed for several days and it was genuinely good. I was upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment, and having a Chinese-speaking front desk for service inquiries was incredibly convenient. It's so much better than staying in hotels run by locals (Black or Indian staff) where communication is often a problem. It's also very close to the Chinatown supermarket for shopping, and the 24-hour security made me feel safe."

"we spent 4 days in this superb well-located hotel. The meals were varied, the room very clean, and special mention goes to the many attentive staff members especially to the lady at the travel desk who gave us great advice for our safari in Nairobi National Park and to our Uber driver. One negative point: the pool is not heated."

"We loved staying at this hotel which is absolutely steeped in history. Staying here feels like taking a step back in history and the art deco design of the bar was just gorgeous. However, it was the staff that really made our stay memorable. They made us feel special and welcome from the moment we walked into the hotel. It just happened to be my birthday and they went out of their way to make it feel so very special. In particular, Kanja and Christine, were just fantastic and made us feel very welcome. Thank you so much for going above and beyond!"

"Very comfortable hotel to live in. The security check in the store is very strict and safe. The front desk service is warm and meticulous. There are more breakfast styles. The dinner price is OK and tastes good."
