"I booked this hotel two months in advance, paying 980 RMB per night including breakfast. However, on the day I checked in, my colleague found the price was 580 RMB per night with breakfast. Early check-in cost an extra $30.
I appreciated that the power outlets were universal Chinese type, so I didn't need an adapter. The breakfast offered steamed buns, noodles, and chopsticks. While it was nothing special, it was decent enough. The outdoor seating at the restaurant was very comfortable.
On the downside, the room facilities were outdated, and the hygiene was just average. There was a strange smell from the wardrobe and the sink, and some areas were quite dirty.
On the positive side, the staff were all very nice. If the price had been under 500 RMB per night, I would have found it acceptable. But paying nearly 1000 RMB per night, I felt like I got a raw deal."
"This hotel is located in the CBD. While the CBD area can be a bit busy at night, the hotel's security, service, and restaurants are top-notch. The rooms are also very spacious, and there's a gym and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel boasts three dining options: a 24-hour bar and a buffet restaurant. It's also conveniently close to East Africa's largest mosque and a museum, both great for daytime visits. Plus, there are safe bars and restaurants right next to the hotel that you can check out during the day."
"Kendwa really is one of the best spots on the island—especially since the beach is clean, white, and doesn't pull out nearly as much with the tides like other parts of Zanzibar, making it perfect for swimming whenever you feel like jumping in.
Here is a quick snapshot recap of what makes your stay there so great:
* The Rooms: Spacious and comfortable, giving everyone plenty of room to relax and unwind after a full day out in the sun.
* The Vibe: A great mix of quiet relaxation by day and lively energy by night—from chilling on the sandy shore to taking in the beachside atmosphere, live music, and dancing.
* The Hospitality: Friendly, welcoming hotel staff keeping things running smoothly so you can just focus on enjoying your trip.
* Great Location: Being steps away from local cafes, great dining right at the main bar, and easy access to ocean activities makes it super convenient.
Enjoy the rest of your time taking in the ocean views and relaxing on the beach!"
"This is a really nice hotel in the Commercial Business District. The best thing about here is the breakfast which has a really nice spread including an egg station, beef/chicken sausages, and pancakes. I also used the gym frequently where they provided towels and water.
Everyone was always so friendly.
While it is centrally located, it’s not the safest neighborhood at night - during the day it seemed fine (but you must always take care of your phone). We didn’t mind it because we were always out and when we came back to the hotel, we never left again each night."
"Very comfortable hotel to live in. The security check in the store is very strict and safe. The front desk service is warm and meticulous. There are more breakfast styles. The dinner price is OK and tastes good."
"Cons: No hairdryer, even though it was advertised.
Pros: Cheaper than ***********, payment by Russian card, friendly staff, daily cleaning, good location, Noma cafe nearby with incredibly delicious coffee, highly recommended!!!"
"The hotel was actually okay and the price was reasonable
The staff were friendly.
However, the room was very, very noisy
you could hear everything from the neighbouring rooms when people talked at night.
The gym is no longer in great condition.Sometimes when you run on the treadmil, it randomly stops and switches off that’s very dangerous.
Also, the pool restaurant is very overpriced and the service was slow."
"Nice hotel. More upmarket than others. Very clean and offers a good service. I would recommend they do some more maintenance however, especially with the men’s steam room. It’s quite run down."
"A great hotel in the center of Nairobi! We had a room on the 15th floor with a view of the city skyline. The service was excellent, both at the reception and in the restaurant. On the day of departure, the chef even packed breakfast for us at 6 AM so that we had something for the road. On the top floor there is a cool bar with a panoramic view, snacks and a good selection of drinks (beer around 2 USD). If you want to use Uber, the driver may wait on the corner and not directly in front of the hotel because the street is quite narrow. The security staff are at the door 24/7 and will also help you order taxis. We felt very comfortable and safe, thank you very much! (I'm uploading a photo of the view from the bar)"

Amazing
MMatthew HI had a really enjoyable stay at the Swiss Lenana Mount Hotel and would happily return.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. They really made an effort to help me settle in, which immediately set the tone for the stay. A standout moment for me was when the general manager personally came over to introduce himself and check that everything was going well — a small touch, but one that you don’t often experience and it made a big difference.
The rooms were spacious, very clean, and clearly well maintained. It felt comfortable and relaxing throughout my stay.
I also really appreciated the location. The area felt safe and pleasant to walk around, with some great places to eat nearby. While I usually stay in Westlands when I visit Nairobi, this was a refreshing change. You’re still only about a 10-minute Uber ride from Westlands and other key areas, but far enough out to enjoy quieter evenings and avoid the heavy traffic.
Overall, this was an excellent experience — great location, great people, and a genuinely comfortable stay. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserEverything is well appointed. Staffs - whether it is at the reception counter, the pick-up drivers or the staffs at the restaurant were all friendly and helpful. Room is spacious and clean, some with a view of the garden and swimming pool. The free pick-up service was from airport was great too! While it's locaiton is closed to the airport (6-7 mins. by car) but there is really not much to see and go near the hotel. Another thing is that despite there is Netflix and YouTube on the TV, the Netflix is not accessible - on both occassions when I stayed there. It went to the Netflix log-in page but then it just stucked there and no response doesn't matter what button is pressed on the remote control
YYao bukeyanThis is a relatively new and luxurious hotel in Nairobi. Security is very strict, with security personnel questioning guests at the entrance, dogs checking for explosives, and even armed security personnel checking bags in the lobby. However, there's no need to worry about security; it's purely a government requirement. The staff at the hotel are very nice, from the front desk to the concierge and the restaurant. Everyone is friendly and willing to help with any questions.
The hotel has comprehensive facilities, including table tennis, darts, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool. The restaurant offers a rich breakfast and excellent coffee.
The hotel's location isn't very central, so there are no restaurants nearby. You can either dine at the hotel or take an Uber to the nearby village market, which offers both food and shopping. It's very convenient.
GGuest UserThe accomodation is absolutely top range and comfortable and the place has so much to offer. Unfortunately, it appears to be running on auto pilot or poor management. These are the things which really annoyed me: 1. Arriving at night, the signage is not well lit and we struggled to establish whether we had arrived at the right place, especially the security personnel at the gate were not being very helpful. They have never been given any training to help them understand that they are the first point of contact between guests and the residency. 2. We arrived on a ”Jazz Night” but, although I am a jazz lover, it should not be foreced upon everyone. The layout of the dining area is very poorly thought out. There was no maitre d'hotel or someone to direct us as to where we should go if we wanted to eat and not listen to music. Eventually we found someone to help us walk past the music area and squeeze past the tight space to go past th bar to the dining area. The whole layout is kind of back to front. The dining area should be more easily accessible and there needs to be a way to separate the main dining area without getting rid of the dining tables in the music area. 3. The dining area is exposed at the back and there was a strong could draught that night, because the rear part of the dining area is exposed to the elements.
GGuest UserI am quite satisfied with the overall facilities of the hotel, but the body odor of the cleaner (male) is so strong that I can still smell the odor on my body after cleaning my room. No one came to clean the room from the first day to the second day.
YYUSUFMU5What an amazing experience! Me and my wife have luckily travelled to many countries and stayed in a range of hotels and this was one of the most comfortable and welcome experiences. Our first time in Nairobi so we didn’t know too much about where to stay until we spoke to some people. They mentioned the area to be safe and also recommended this hotel as a great way to be comfortable in Nairobi. You have security in entrance and exit and they were super nice. All the staff in the hotel were accommodating and showed us around and had us alll the info we needed. We got breakfast included and stayed for 3 nights. The breakfast was exactly what we needed. You have a range of foods to choose from and I’m sure you’ll find something you like! The food at the hotel is halal which is great for us too. Our room was cleaned and refilled every day and they were respectful and details in their service. We also used the gym which was super great. Enough for you to get a good workout in too. The location is next to Sarit Centre, perfect to access the Masai Market (on specific days) and also shops of all kinds.
Big thank you to the team and everyone involved! Will definitely choose this hotel if I’m ever in Nairobi and also one I’d recommend to friends and family.
GGuest UserI stayed here twice, once on arrival and again the day before my flight home. The first time, I was a bit disappointed because I was on the 5th floor and my window looked out onto a terrace. However, my second stay was on the 9th floor with an amazing view overlooking Nairobi National Park, which really boosted my overall impression! I could even spot giraffes and ostriches with binoculars.
The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with absolutely no complaints. Security was also excellent. I had expected there to be more shops within the building, but aside from about three restaurants, most of the other spaces were vacant. So, for any shopping, you'll need to venture outside.
GGuest UserEverything was good. We spent there one night, the staff was friendly and helpful and they even gave me a complimentary birthday cake and a song in the morning - this was very unexpected and very sweet!
KKRAZY WORKERThey provided three meals, if you are a Chinese tummy I had the chance to stay at Xiaomi Homestay in Kilimani, Nairobi, and it was a refreshing mix of comfort, convenience, and cultural charm.
Location & First Impressions
The homestay is tucked away in the lively Kilimani neighborhood, which makes it easy to access restaurants, shopping malls, and transport. The property itself feels modern, clean, and welcoming — a good balance between homely warmth and hotel-like comfort.
Comfort & Amenities
The facilities were a big plus. The gym was well-equipped, making it easy to keep up with workouts, while the swimming pool was perfect for relaxing after a busy day in the city. Both amenities added great value to the stay, especially for anyone who enjoys fitness and downtime in equal measure.
Meals & Dining Experience
One of the standout features was the inclusion of three daily Chinese meals. This made the stay very convenient, especially for anyone missing home-style dishes or simply wanting a reliable, flavorful option without having to step out. The meals were hearty, authentic, and gave a unique cultural touch to the experience.
Atmosphere & Service
The overall atmosphere was warm and peaceful. The hosts provided thoughtful service, striking a nice balance between giving guests privacy and being available when needed. It truly felt like a home away from home, with just the right amount of care.
KKulateinLovely staff and friendly, everyone was professional and helpful, they ensured my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The location was nice with taxi service nearby, the town centre was walking distance with security fficer always ensuring you are safe and checking on you.
