I had a wonderful stay at the Friendly DH Naissance Hotel in Seoul. The absolute best part about this hotel is its fantastic location. If you love food, you will be spoiled for choice—it is within easy walking distance to a huge variety of local restaurants and places to eat.
Getting around Seoul from here is a breeze as well. It is just a few minutes' walk to both the nearest bus stop and the subway station, making sightseeing incredibly efficient.
The convenience factor alone makes this hotel a hidden gem. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Seoul!

As always, Brown Dot is always satisfying, no matter where you stay.
It's incredibly satisfying for the price.
It's easy to find, and it's cleaner and more comfortable than most places, which is great.
I've been disappointed with many accommodations that I've only seen in photos, only to find they're a mess in person. But Brown Dot is a place where you can trust the name and be sure to have a great time. ^^
I had a great rest. ^^

Great hotel. The room was clean and spacious. The location is very strategic, with a minimart just a few steps away. They also have twosome cafe at their lobby. Sungshin woman univ’s subway station is only about 100 meters away and doesn’t require crossing the street. It’s on the same line as Myeongdong and Dongdaemun, which is very convenient for shopping. We even went back and forth to the hotel twice to drop off our purchases after shopping in those areas. The staff were also very helpful.

This was my solo trip to Seoul, and the room was very cozy. Although the bathroom was shared, everyone kept it really clean. The host even prepared a welcome gift, which I truly appreciated! I happened to be there on a Sunday and got to enjoy the host's tteokguk (rice cake and dumpling soup). The location is super convenient, right at Exit 2 of Yongdu Subway Station. If I come to Seoul alone again, I'll definitely choose to stay here!
At Seongbuk (Bomun-dong) Piano, every guestroom is provided with convenient amenities and fittings to ensure a comfortable stay.Certain rooms offer in-room amusement features such as the television for your enjoyment.

It was my first time in Korea during the National Day holiday. I traveled with friends for a few days, and then they returned home. As a solo female traveler, I saw the price was decent, so I casually booked this hotel for two nights without much research. Once confirmed, it couldn't be canceled! This hotel is only suitable for a one-night layover, not for shopping or leisure tourists. I'll break down the pros and cons below. Also, you can find this hotel's address on China's Gaode Maps and Uber can get you there, but surprisingly, South Korea's local Naver Maps couldn't find the hotel name... Unless they improve their luggage policy, or if you only have a backpack, otherwise, tourists should look elsewhere.
Price Pros: Compared to other options nearby during the National Day holiday, the price of this hotel was acceptable to me, around 290-300 per night. No other pros come to mind.
Transportation Pros & Cons: ❌ It's quite far from the subway. The nearest subway station is Sinseol-dong Station on Line 1, a 10-minute walk. If you're not good at using Korea's Naver Maps, don't just walk, because I once got lost...
❣️ Taking the bus is more convenient. The nearest bus stop is just dozens of meters away: Bomun-dong Community Center. From there, take one stop to Sinseol-dong Station Crossroads, and then take the subway from Sinseol-dong Station on Line 1.
❌ Check-in time: If you arrive early, you can't check in early. You need to check in at 7 PM and check out by 12 PM the next day. If you check out after 12 PM, you'll be charged separately for the extra time. Also, no matter how many nights you've booked, by 12 PM the next day, you have to pack your luggage and take it with you. Then, you re-check in at 7 PM that evening. If you store your luggage at the hotel, there's an extra charge, and it's not cheap – you could book a decent hotel for that price. Having to take my luggage with me was a major pain; I stayed two nights and dragged my luggage around for a whole day, it was exhausting.
Environment and Hygiene: I used my own towels and toothbrushes, not the hotel's. Rooms on the third floor are quite small. For those with no other options, choose a larger room on the fifth floor. Also, there's no deadbolt chain on the door, which made me, as a woman, feel a bit unsafe.
Later, I read other reviews and it seems this hotel might be a couple's 'love hotel'? That would explain the different check-in times and luggage rules...
Great care is taken to ensure guests experience comfort through top-notch services and amenities. Remain linked during your visit by utilizing the complimentary internet access available. Reception services featuring luggage storage are available to cater to your requirements. The motel is completely smoke-free. Crafted for coziness, every guestroom provides an array of features, guaranteeing a tranquil night's sleep while maintaining the level of comfort. For a more enjoyable stay, select rooms at motel are equipped with blackout curtains and air conditioning. For certain chosen rooms, guests can enjoy in-room amusement like television, in-room video streaming and cable TV as a part of their stay.Rest assured that your hydration needs will be met, as some guestrooms are equipped with a refrigerator and bottled water. Maintain your cleanliness and comfort using a hair dryer and toiletries available in select guest restrooms.

Kinda over my expectations, really had a good experience, the staff are so friendly and nice. If u're finding a mini budget staying, it's a good option, to the central city everything it's just about half an hour (not really far for me imo) and the area there is safe and are happening even at nigha as well. Also, didn't expect that the room was kinda big (as a single room) and comfortable!!!

The hotel is close to the station, and there are many restaurants and other establishments around, so I had no trouble finding places to eat. The room was also clean. However, I couldn't figure out how to use the refrigerator and it ended up leaking water. Since I had a late check-in, my arrival was already late, so it wasn't a big issue for me, but I think early arrivers might be concerned about that point.

Great
GGuest UserThis hotel's location is absolutely perfect! It's right by the Hongdae subway station, and downstairs you'll find Olive Young, Adidas, and Musinsa. It's truly in the heart of Hongdae, the 'universe center.' You can also tell it's popular with international guests because they provide universal power adapters, disposable slippers, and even a capsule coffee machine. Aside from the room and bed being a bit small, everything else was 100% perfect. I'm so satisfied!
GGuest UserTraveling during the May Day holiday, prices were inflated, and after comparing a few options, I felt Nine Tree offered the best value for money. I stayed for 4 nights and saved almost 2000 KRW compared to staying in Mapo, which I then used for taxis – a good deal.
The hotel is quite close to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village. For other destinations, we took taxis. A taxi to Myeongdong was only about 10-odd thousand won, so taxis in Korea weren't as expensive as I imagined.
The surrounding area is very quiet, giving off a vibe of a developed place that's also peaceful. Jogyesa Temple is right across the street, and Insadong is nearby.
There were many foreigners staying here.
The service, facilities, and cleanliness were all good.
My only minor complaint was that the duvet cover felt a bit stiff and crinkled loudly. Also, the windows couldn't be opened, making the room feel a bit dry.
YYuenahezhujishiI've stayed at this hotel in Kyoto before and wanted to see if the Seoul branch had the same great environment, but there's a noticeable difference. The air conditioning was simply unacceptable; it was so hot! The AC system is clearly outdated and couldn't regulate the temperature. Even with outside temperatures at -5 degrees Celsius, I was sweating in a short-sleeved shirt and couldn't sleep. The breakfast was pretty much the same every day and quite mediocre. It's fine for a day or two if you're in a pinch, but having it every day at the hotel was a bit much for me. ☹️
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent. It's very close to Sinsa Subway Station, and if you stick to the main road, there's no steep hill like some photos online might suggest.
It's right next to Seoul Forest, and you can walk to Apgujeong in about 10-15 minutes. There's also a three-story Olive Young just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, which is super convenient! While the rooms aren't huge, the soundproofing is pretty good, and the shower water pressure is absolutely fantastic!
If you stay here, definitely make sure to check out the cafe on the top floor – the views are amazing. Overall, highly recommend. (Pics 1 & 2: Hotel rooftop cafe/bar. Pics 3 & 4: Views from the room)
GGuest UserMy stay at HOTEL BOTANIK's Deluxe King Room in Myeongdong exceeded my expectations. The room had a modern, apartment-style feel with brand new facilities and full amenities, making it ideal for those planning a longer stay in Seoul.
The in-room amenities were definitely the highlight. The air conditioning had a control panel for temperature adjustment, and it came equipped with an AirDresser, a washer-dryer combo, a separate fridge and freezer, an induction hob, and a microwave oven. Inside the cabinets, there was even a wine cooler, wine glasses, and mugs, giving it the feel of a small boutique apartment. Charging was also convenient, with both USB and Type-C outlets available, and the bidet toilet had a full range of functions. The bathroom featured a wet/dry separation design, and the water pressure was consistent, making for a very comfortable shower.
However, there were a few things to note:
The kitchenware provided was quite basic, with only two plates, which might be insufficient if you plan to do a lot of cooking. Also, laundry detergent wasn't provided in the room, but you could purchase it at the front desk if needed.
There are several construction sites near the hotel, but surprisingly, the soundproofing was excellent during my stay, with no noticeable noise at night. My sleep quality was quite peaceful.
Overall, this hotel is more of a ”high-functional type” accommodation. The facilities are new and highly practical, feeling more like staying in a well-designed apartment than a traditional hotel. It made for a very comfortable stay.
GGuest UserThe room was comfy and there was bidet available. The location was strategic, near convenience store and you can easily find restaurant, good coffee shop, and also access to MRT. There was washing machine in the room and you can buy the detergent at GS25 at the lobby area. The minus point was the space on the service area is narrow and you have to bring your luggage downstair and believe me It was really hard to bring big luggage from downstair because the stair space was also narrow.
MMattyFThe room is small and a little boring but you’re paying for the location, and it’s comfortable and clean. There’s a good beer bar, Seoulista, on the ground floor. There’s is an aerial walkway connected, which goes to Seoul Station. You can also use the metro Exit 7 (I think) but it will charge you just for walking through if you are coming from the AirPort Express. The breakfast arrangements are quite eccentric, but I had a good breakfast.
GGuest UserThe microwave in the lobby and the spacious room were great. There was plenty of space, so even with two of us, we didn't feel cramped with our luggage. The staff were super friendly and wonderful! We stayed for two nights with my friend and had a peaceful stay without any noise or issues.
ほほのりんI'm Japanese! I stayed here with my mother. The front entrance was straight ahead from Myeongdong Exit 5, on the right side. The bathroom had a shower and toilet together, but there was a shower curtain so no water splashed onto the toilet. The location was great and it was affordable, so I'd love to stay again!
GGuest UserClean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy. Clean and hygienic, quiet and tidy.
Some top places to stay in Seoul are near popular attractions like Myeong-dong and Heunginjimun Gate (Dongdaemun)—so you can quickly get to top landmarks and amenities you need.
