"The room was new and clean, as expected. It was a bit small but had everything we needed, including a mini-fridge for our snacks and drinks. We could even open our 24-inch luggage fully. The best part was that the double room came with two beds. The soundproofing wasn't great; we could faintly hear people talking next door at night, but the hotel provided free earplugs. There's also a large rooftop terrace with traditional Korean Yut Nori game equipment. For breakfast, they offered cereal, milk, soy milk, toast, butter, jam, cheese, and ham. I found the cheese and ham combination particularly delicious. They also provide free instant noodles, coffee, and tea 24/7, which was a nice touch, especially enjoying some Korean instant noodles after returning in the evening! The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful, always with a smile. However, I couldn't get the WeChat QR code at the front desk to work. The location is super convenient. There's Daiso, Mega Mart, Kyochon Chicken, duty-free shops, and more nearby. Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gwangjang Market (the Olive Young inside the market has a unique design, as shown in picture 4) are within walking distance. Dongdaemun Subway Station Exit 6 is only a 3-5 minute walk away and has an escalator. With subway lines 1 and 4, you can reach most attractions directly or with just one transfer. If you want to take the high-speed train, you can get to Seoul Station and Cheongnyangni Station without any transfers. The Airport Bus 6002 stop is also less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Overall, the price was reasonable, the location was great, the room was clean, and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to friends."

"Very convenient location between two subway stations. Quite a few shopping malls within walking distance, including one right below the hotel. Lots of eateries within the building and just across the street, kbbq, Korean food, eggdrop, shake shack etc. Hotel room was very clean, with daily housekeeping. Would recommend it!"

"The location is fantastic! There are tons of restaurants nearby, and a convenience store is right around the corner. It was really convenient to be able to stay out late in Dongdaemun and then quickly head back to the hostel. My room was spacious enough to lay out all my luggage, the sheets were clean, and the mattress was comfortable. Everything I needed was provided, and the staff were incredibly kind. You can register for their LINE account using the QR code by the entrance to quickly get in touch with them, and they respond right away. I was a bit worried about the shower and toilet being in one room, but the ventilation was excellent, so it dried quickly. The soundproofing in the room was great; I couldn't hear any noise from other rooms at all. I had my luggage sent from the airport, and they kindly stored it for me, and they'll hold it again when I leave. I was very satisfied with this hostel."

"If you are wondering where to stay for a trip to Seoul, I highly recommend this place. The location was great, making it convenient to get around Dongdaemun, Myeongdong, Euljiro, and Gwangjang Market. Above all, the atmosphere of the accommodation was wonderful. It didn't feel like a typical business hotel with just a bed; instead, it had the vibe of a cozy home or a pretty Airbnb, with a natural Korean aesthetic that made it lovely. The table was large, so it was really convenient to order delivery food. There was a washing machine, a large refrigerator, and a microwave, so it would have been convenient to stay longer, but I only booked for one night, which was a real shame. I had a great time chatting with my friend, and it remains a memorable experience. The room was spacious, and there was even a seating area to relax in. The photos turned out great, and the atmosphere in the common areas was so nice that it really boosted my satisfaction with the trip. It is a place I would love to stay at again the next time I visit Seoul."

"I chose this hotel based on my budget, location, and acceptable cleanliness standards (according to reviews). The closest exit to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station is Exit 8, but Exit 4, across the main road, has an elevator and isn't much further. There's a 7-Eleven next to Exit 4, and a WOWPASS charging machine in the lobby of the Sotetsu Hotel in front of the exit. The bed was comfortable, both in firmness and bedding. The toilet and shower were a combined unit without a partition, which I knew from reviews, but it still took some getting used to. However, I eventually got the hang of it. Basic amenities were provided, and I received a toothbrush set at check-in. There's a charging cable next to the bed, so you can charge your phone without a voltage converter. You take an elevator to get to your room. This hotel was perfectly adequate for a solo traveler looking to stay active on a budget."

"I chose this hotel primarily for its convenient location, and it certainly delivered! It's just a few minutes from Shindang Station Exit 10, and with escalators going both up and down, navigating with a suitcase was a breeze. As for the hotel itself, it's clean and has an elevator. However, the room is small, and the bathroom design means the entire space gets wet when you shower. Because of this, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone traveling with companions, only solo travelers. For my two-night stay, it was perfectly fine! On my arrival day, I couldn't find the air conditioner remote, so I couldn't turn on the heating. But I discovered on the second day that it's combined with the TV remote, which was great. Check-in is late, but check-out is at 12 PM. I opted for a late check-out until 1 PM for an extra 10,000 won, which gave me plenty of time to explore in the morning before coming back. Overall, I was very satisfied!"

"I booked a deluxe king room, which, according to the room type description, should have been on floors 8-19. However, when I checked in, the front desk assigned me a room on the 6th floor. Upon entering, I found the room to be quite ordinary. The bathtub and shower facilities were also poorly designed; even with a shower curtain, water would spray out, leaving a puddle on the floor. I later checked my booking and realized they had given me the wrong room type! That evening, I went to the front desk to discuss it. Initially, they insisted that room 601 was a large room and there was no difference, even claiming other rooms would be smaller... It was only after I insisted that they agreed to move me to a higher floor, 1301, the next day. As expected, the higher-floor room was noticeably newer. What a waste of money for the first night's room difference!"

"I've never seen a hostel as clean as this one! As soon as you enter the lobby, you can smell cleanliness everywhere. I left some of my clothes on my bed during the day and when I came back at night, all my clothes had been folded and my bed had been made! For such a price, having such high-quality service is a luxury! All the amenities are modern and very well decorated. The rooftop is a great place to spend time, and you can even use the washing machine for free! Be careful with the dryer though, it’s really powerful, lots of people had their clothes shrink haha. I really wish I could have stayed longer in Seoul just for this hostel! So don’t be scared by all the positive comments cause it really lives up to its reputation! "Sky Garden Dongdaemun 1 is in a fantastic location. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Dongdaemun shopping area, and there's an airport shuttle stop right across the street, making transfers to and from the airport super convenient. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. The 24-hour front desk had staff who spoke Chinese, which made communication very smooth. There are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. It's definitely my top choice for shopping and getting around – I'll stay here again next time I'm in Seoul."
