"Airport shuttle [round trip]: I called the hotel for a pick-up from the airport, and they picked me up right at Gate 1. If you're not sure where Gate 1 is, you can ask the airport staff. In the morning, you just wait at the front desk to be taken to the airport to pick up your rental car. Facilities: The hotel has a long history, which is detailed in a description next to the front desk. Despite its age, the room facilities are quite good, and I'm very satisfied for the price."

"Stayed here for 11 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout my stay. The location was very convenient, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The room was cozy and provided everything I needed for a longer stay. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever assistance was needed. After staying here for nearly two weeks, it really started to feel like a home away from home. I checked out today and was actually a little sad to leave. Thank you for making my stay in Christchurch so enjoyable. "We arrived late at night on our first day, and after collecting our luggage, I called, and they responded very quickly. Within a minute or two of us finding Gate 2, the car arrived. Since it was so late, the driver even handled the check-in process for us, which was incredibly convenient. The next day, we had arranged to pick up our rental car and asked if they could drop us directly at the car rental company (I had originally booked a service where the rental company would pick us up from the airport). They readily agreed! We booked a one-bedroom suite, and while it looked a bit basic, it was very spacious and clean, so that was perfectly fine. _The hotel's restaurant was also good; we had one breakfast and one dinner there. Highly recommend for transit travelers."

"The location is excellent. Following the hotel's directions, it's only a 10-minute walk, a route you won't find on Google Maps. There's a large supermarket and several restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. The bathroom in my room type didn't have an exhaust fan, so there was a constant damp smell. The common area is spacious, and the kitchen is well-equipped, but I strongly recommend bringing your own cutlery for hygiene reasons. The public cutlery is washed by guests themselves, and on the day I was there, several dirty dishes were left in the sink, and some tabletops weren't wiped clean after use, making the kitchen look untidy. Overall, it's a good place for a short stay, especially if you're catching a flight."

"The Hilton Garden Inn Christchurch Airport is a true treasure. Its English castle-like estate and beautiful sprawling gardens are perfect for photos. Upon check-in, we were greeted with warm cookies. The room was spacious, the king bed was comfortable, and the heating was excellent. They offer a free, large parking lot and it's conveniently located near the airport and the Botanic Gardens. The breakfast even caters to Chinese palates with fried rice and dumplings. Plus, there's a heated pool and a gym. On the downside, the building shows its age a bit, breakfast isn't included, and it's a bit of a walk to the city center. This hotel is definitely a top choice for those traveling by car."

"Along the stretch of Riccarton road, many motels to choose. This location was alright. Not far from Westfield shopping by car. Stayed for 2 nights."

"I recently stayed at the Golden Hotel in Christchurch and had a mixed experience. The location is convenient, with easy access to local attractions. However, I found that it is more like a motel than hotel because our room is situated on ground floor that opens directly to the parking area. And the most unpleasant part of the experience is - after the stay, we found out we got double charged by the hotel mistakenly, but the staff handled the credit card refund very quickly after we reported the issue, but we still suffered a loss due to exchange rate variation."

"The owner is Chinese and can speak Chinese! The hotel is very close to the University of Canterbury, so it is very convenient to go to the school for exchanges and check-ins. Checking out before 10 am is a bit early, but the luggage storage is very friendly. You can also pay for a shuttle bus ~ The environment is good! A motel with New Zealand characteristics"

"On the trip advisor website, it said payment WAS NOT TAKEN until ARRIVAL…and YET it was TAKEN, IMMEDIATLY!!! It said it was NONREFUNDABLE  AND a PENALTY FEE would APPLY for a CANCELLATION!!! Albeit a LAST minute EMERGENCY, we were COMING, it was STRESSFUL upon ARRIVAL! The Hotel STAFF..EXCELLENT! The Food….GOOD, but LIMITED Menu, Especially after the second night! The Airport Shuttle was Absolutely USELESS to us, because of LIMITED EARLY HOUR “service” and advice on how to access Christchurch Central…Poor! BUT the OVERALL Christchurch/New Zealand  Experience was…FANTASTIC,  We would HIGHLY recommend it to ANYONE!!!!"
