"Overall, the hotel was pretty good for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room had hot water, which was nice. The room had no window, but it was okay for a short stay. It was a bit funny that the door didn’t really close properly, but honestly it didn’t bother me much. In general, a decent place to stay in Cagayan de Oro. Sa pangkalahatan, okay naman ang hotel para sa presyo nito. Mabait at matulungin ang staff, at may mainit na tubig ang kuwarto na malaking plus. Wala lang bintana ang kuwarto, pero ayos lang para sa maikling pananatili. Medyo nakakatawa lang na hindi masyadong nagsasara nang maayos ang pinto, pero hindi naman ito naging malaking problema para sa akin. Sa kabuuan, maayos naman itong matuluyan sa Cagayan de Oro."

There's no fridge in the room, and you have to go to the first floor to get water, which is inconvenient. Room cleaning is also only done every two days. The breakfast at the restaurant on the first floor is decent enough, though."

"This is actually my third time staying at New Dawn Pensionne House in Cagayan de Oro, mainly because of its convenient location and affordable rates. The hotel is well-located near malls, restaurants, and other establishments. If you need personal items, Watsons is also nearby, which is very convenient. However, during my stay I noticed that the Wi-Fi inside the room was very slow. I also tried switching to mobile data, but the signal inside the room was still weak. I even had to step outside the room just to get a stronger signal. Considering that Cagayan de Oro already has 5G network coverage, it was surprising that the signal could barely reach inside the room. Another thing to note is that the room does not provide free toiletries like shampoo, toothbrush, or toothpaste, so you need to buy them outside if you forget to bring your own. There was also confusion about the check-out time. The booking app indicated that check-out was 2:00 PM, but the hotel informed us that the check-out time is 12:00 PM. The staff even knocked on the door and called the room before the 2:00 PM check-out time stated in the app, which was a bit inconvenient. ✅ Pros - Convenient location near malls and stores - Affordable place to stay - Nearby convenience stores and Watsons ⚠️ Cons - Very slow Wi-Fi inside the room - Weak mobile signal inside the room -No free toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste) - Confusion with check-out time ⭐ Overall: Since this is already my third stay, the hotel is still a practical choice because of its location and price. However, improvements in Wi-Fi, signal reception, and clearer check-out policies would greatly improve the guest experience."

"I would say the overall check-in process and stay were good. Since we are mostly outside for work, we were able to get to relax when we stayed in our room. It's also nice that they extend their hand by messaging us to confirm the booking."

"The location is fantastic. There's a large shopping mall, a big supermarket, a 7-Eleven, and a cheap and delicious fried chicken place nearby. The Agora Bus Terminal (EastBound Terminal) is also within walking distance. However, the cleanliness was a major issue due to a significant cockroach problem. When I entered the room, I saw about two on the bed, which then scurried under it. There were about five more in the bathroom. While none were large, they were around 2cm long. I had to buy insecticide from the supermarket to deal with them. The elevator was convenient, but there was a notice stating it would be out of service from 10 PM to 6 AM. I had an overnight bus at 2 AM, so I planned to take my heavy suitcase down to the lobby before 10 PM and asked the front desk to store it for me. However, the front desk staff lied and told me the elevator would be running all night. In reality, it wasn't working in the middle of the night. I had to carry my suitcase, which weighed over 20kg, down the stairs myself. Another incident occurred when I returned in the evening after 6 PM. While I was showering, there was aggressive knocking on my door. Since there was no peephole and I was in the shower, I couldn't open it, but the knocking persisted for quite some time. After several minutes of relentless knocking, I reluctantly opened the door to find a young man who said he was there to collect trash. This hotel doesn't provide 'Do Not Disturb' signs for the doorknobs. I stayed for two nights, and there was no room cleaning or towel replacement, but I certainly received aggressive and annoying knocking from the staff. The internet speed was decent, around 5Mbps. The front desk staff during check-out was very kind and polite, and the security guard outside was also very friendly. Overall, the location is excellent. There are both wonderful and unhelpful staff members, plus cockroaches, but also air conditioning and free WiFi. I guess the low price reflects both the good and bad aspects of this hotel. Given that it's not a luxury hotel, I'd rate it 3/5 for a hotel in the Philippines."

"Staff are nice. They should improve their breakfast choices. Gym area is not ideal since it has limited equipment, area is small, and no proper ventilation."

"The overall experience was good. We had a good sleep and good room service. The breakfast buffet options must be enhanced and upgrade the quality of the food they serve. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth. They must think of a space giving other amenities such as a gym and a massage area."
