Hotels near Tay Ho, Hanoi

Not very happy with my stay. Firstly I’m a solo female traveller and was allocated a room on the same floor as the lobby. Upon checkin I realised the double lock in the room is not functioning so I voiced out. Staff told me not to worry as nobody can enter from outside without the key. I mentioned I’m a female traveler i don’t feel safe & that my room is on the same floor as lobby. He told me their technician is busy right now and will help fix the lock later. Before I went out of the hotel I have informed the lobby staff that I’m going out and to remember to fix the lock staff said ok. However when I am back in the room at night I realised it’s still not fixed! Another staff this time reassured me that everything is alright and that nobody can enter from outside and even showed me. I insisted that I still want it fixed and he said next morning will send someone to fix it for me. It was late so I agreed, I slept with a chair against the door. When I was half asleep at about 11pm I suddenly heard a loud knock on my door. Thinking it’s the hotel staff want to fix my lock? So I opened the door and to my dismay there was 2 officer in the green uniform together with hotel staff. I was shocked and scared as I wasn’t expecting police officer! What happened? The police asked when did I check in and also asked for my passport and took picture of it. When I asked if everything is alright, is the hotel safe as I still have 2 more nights here they just say all is good. Rest assured I did not sleep well that night!!! Next morning I insist I would like to change room as I really do not feel safe and they said they will “upgrade” me to a higher floor. Upon getting my new room I realised it’s the exact same room type and size as what I got on 1st floor only difference is the painting on the headboar! They should have given me a higher floor room in the first place. There was some flying insects in the room other that that nothing to shout about. Room was basic and clean enough, bed was comfortable. Toilet need some upgrade. I will not be coming back to this hotel again! Would not recommend. Location is only good if you like to stay at Westlake area else don’t bother.

No elevator, so if you have heavy luggage, avoid staying on a high floor. The owner is very welcoming. The location on the map is a bit off, so you'll need to confirm with the owner, otherwise, it's hard to find.

Breakfast not exiting. Not even bean coffee. Only instant coffee. I booked for 2 people, then i got 2 breakfast’s. At least then enough.   Receptionist speaks good english and is very helpfull. And as guest i should not have to park my motorbike outside. The room itself is exactly like in the pictures. Nothing to complain. It looks like it have kitchen, but its not. The provided bottelwater is very little.  Swimmingpool is ok.

I stayed here for 2 nights and everything went great. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, no problems with the soundproofing. There are a fan, a conditioner and one window is opening. The only thing is that the steamer doesn’t work and the shower head is leaking. The support is good - I asked for a late check out because of illness and they permitted to stay for an hour longer (after that the new guests were coming). The location is great- currency exchange in the cafe next door, the lake is in a minute walk.

Pro - near airport than old quoter (40 min) - 20 min to old quoter - no car horn noisy - can cook in room - lake view (some room) - have waste machine in room - have security at lobby Con - far from Michelin restaurant (almost of them located around old quoter - hot water need to Waite around 5 min - view some room block by front building (you will see wall of front building)

All the staff were incredibly friendly. The breakfast was international, offering both European and Asian options. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the kitchen facilities were fully equipped, making cooking extremely convenient. (There's a small supermarket right by the hotel entrance with a few simple vegetables, frozen meats like steaks, and rice and noodles, which is perfect for basic cooking.) The gym was huge with a super comprehensive range of equipment. The hotel also has a small gate providing access to the lake, and there's a shuttle bus service to the city center.

A89 Hotel was a wonderful hotel to stay at. Everything was great and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Thank you Lizzie for your support and kindness. I will most definitely stay at the A89 Hotel West Lake again. Everything is in walking distance and restaurants close by and the Lotte mall just across the road. Buses are available and very good to take you anywhere in Hanoi.

We had a little issue upon check in because the configuration of rooms allocated to our group were wrong. But kudos to the Receptionst for sorting it out rapidly in a very professional manner. The room is simply awesome. very clean, bed is comfortable and amenities are good. The gym is fantastic, together with the steam room. There are a few surrounding restaurants near the hotel, but not a whole bunch. Location werent that fantastic, but its compenaated with all the quietness and away from city feel.

1. It was great that it was close to West Lake, making it perfect for walks, and it was quiet. 2. The breakfast was average, but not to the point where it felt like a waste of money. 3. The swimming pool is really big and quite long, so you can swim to your heart's content. 4. The massage at the hotel was excellent value for money, and the massage skills were absolutely top-notch. I don't think there is another hotel massage place that offers this level of quality at such a reasonable price. If you have an evening flight, it is perfect to get a massage, shower, and then head out. 5. Everyone was kind and provided excellent service. In particular, the person named Adam was incredibly kind and seemed like a very competent worker. I highly recommend him and will remember the service I received. 6. Having a washing machine and oven was fantastic. I did laundry every day, washed and dried my clothes neatly, and wore them everywhere. 7. It takes about 35 minutes to the airport by Grab if there is no traffic. It was great that it was close. 8. It was also good to get to the market if there was no traffic. There was some congestion on weekends due to traffic control, but otherwise, everything was great. 9. It is a comfortable accommodation with no inconveniences. As for improvements... it would have been perfect if there had been a clothes drying rack. Thank you.

I rented this place on Airbnb from August 22–31, 2025, room 602. Everything was cool. It wasn’t perfect, but I loved this place until I left food on the kitchen counter… and you probably guessed it, the next thing I knew, there was an army of ants. They were coming from under the silicone, which wasn’t completely sealed near the sink. The owner offered me to put some ant killer, but at this point, after seeing 100+ ants, there was no way I was staying. And every exterminator will tell you that you don’t kill ants just by putting down some product, you have to find the source/nest. Anyway, Airbnb contacted the owner and offered me a 50% refund for the remaining unstayed nights, which was a take it or leave it kind of deal, so I agreed. If I’m not mistaken, there were 5 nights left. This was my first time using Airbnb, so I have no idea if the owner/Airbnb could have done better. I’m not the type to leave a bad review (a.k.a. 1 star) even after a bad experience unless i really have to,, but to be honest, a 100% full refund would have kept my mouth shut. In the end, I guess this is good for the community, and I hope this was the first time they were aware of it, because if they knew and didn’t hire an exterminator, that’s another story.
