The staff was friendly, welcoming and made me feel at home. There is construction going on in the area at the moment, but besides that, I would highly recommend staying here. "This is not my first time visiting this place but this time I don’t want to lie I was very disappointed. I got charged 200 rand cause my pillow had oil(hair oil) I have braids on and additional to that they said there was blood on the sheets which was so weird cause I did not bleed Mind you this blood was only mentions after I told them that I will come back tomorrow cause paying 200 Rand for small smudges of oil on the pillow cash didn’t make sense then the receptionist went on to say we saw blood Then they said there was food sauces as well ..I mean I’m staying there and I was here for 2 nights ain’t no way am I going to leave the place spotless But the receptionist was just being rude which was unnecessary Like I said this wasn’t the first time coming here I always come and never have I ever gone through this even after staying for more days with friends I just think it’s drama to charge me for oil on my pillow cause I slept on it it’s bound to happen a"

"This was a truly delightful and satisfying stay. The hotel's location is superb, right on the V&A Waterfront – it's quiet, safe, clean, and convenient. All the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, and always willing to help with any issues. There are so many restaurant options nearby, it's a foodie's paradise, and the quality is consistently high. The hotel's breakfast was excellent, from the dishes to the beverages, especially the coffee, everything was top-notch. Definitely worth staying again, highly recommended!"

"HAVN Apartstay Hotel provided a comfortable and practical base during our Cape Town stay. The location was highly convenient, allowing easy access to major attractions such as Table Mountain and the Waterfront. The apartment-style layout suited our family well, offering sufficient space for luggage, children, and downtime. The room was larger than expected and exceeded our initial expectations in comfort. While there was a slight lingering smoke smell upon arrival, airing out the room improved the environment. Staff were helpful and accommodating, especially when allowing us to store luggage prior to check-in. The overall experience balanced independence with hotel-style convenience. It was especially helpful during a busy sightseeing phase of the trip. HAVN offered a reliable, well-located option for families seeking flexibility and space in Cape Town."

"The hotel was lovely and staff very helpful. Breakfast was good and fresh.alp the decor around the hotel was just like photos. There was an incident regarding security of my room and reception were very supportive and patient in reviewing all the CCTV footage. I was ensured staff would be formally approached about the incident. The hotel gave me a room stay for the day afterwards and accommodated any request."

"I had heard it was in a not-so-safe area, but there were no issues as cars could pull right up to the hotel entrance, and there's a security guard at the parking entrance, which made traveling by ride-sharing app perfectly fine. However, I'd definitely advise against walking, even for short distances. The staff were very helpful, and my stay was comfortable. I was too lazy to go out, so I ate at the hotel's restaurant several times, and it was excellent – delicious and inexpensive. I'd love to stay here again when I next visit Cape Town. I've attached photos of the delicious burger and T-bone steak I had at the restaurant."

"We visited the hotel in January 2026. We loved everything, the studio room with a balcony was absolutely top-notch! 🔥 The location is convenient, and there's parking available. The only downside was that the washing machine in our room wasn't working, and we constantly had to ask for access to a laundry room, which was a bit annoying. Also, a rather unpleasant incident was being charged 350 for a stained sheet. This was purely accidental due to unavoidable feminine circumstances..."

"Disappointing — Not the Taj Experience I Expected I stayed one night at Taj Cape Town and, having stayed, worked, and studied at other Taj properties worldwide, I left feeling that this hotel does not deliver the signature “Taj” experience. Location: Excellent — centrally located and convenient for business and sightseeing. Rooms: Very good. The guest room was well-appointed, comfortable, and met the standard I expect from a five-star property. No complaints on accommodations. Food & Beverage: Below expectations for a Taj. The breakfast buffet was serviceable but average — acceptable for a quick meal, but nothing memorable in terms of variety, presentation, or quality. The on-site Asian restaurant is extremely small (about five tables) and suffers from poor ventilation: the exhaust does not appear to function adequately, so the space quickly fills with an oily cooking smell that lingers and detracts from the dining experience. The food itself was below the quality I would expect from a Taj-branded restaurant. Service & Brand Feel: This is where the hotel most noticeably misses the mark. While staff were professional, the overall atmosphere lacked the warm, polished service and attention to detail that distinguishes other Taj properties I have experienced. It felt more like a standard city hotel operating under the Taj name rather than a hotel delivering the full Taj brand promise. Value: Concerning. The hotel charges approximately INR 2,000 per day for parking — a steep add-on that should be clearly communicated up front and factored into the overall value proposition. Summary: The location and rooms are strong points, but the average breakfast, a small and poorly ventilated Asian restaurant, and an overall absence of the characteristic Taj hospitality leave this property short of expectations. If you are seeking the classic Taj experience, this particular hotel may not meet that standard."
