"The room was dated but clean and spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel felt like you were staying in his house and was felt like we were an inconvenience to him. We got told off for taking alittle sand into the hotel ( ridiculous) and told to make sure we clean our shoes before we go in. Breakfast was nice. It was a shame he wasn’t there to welcome you as we had never been to the area and did not know where to eat and we thought his restaurant would be open but it wasn’t. The write made the hotel look a lot nicer than what it actually was. The hotel was ok but not great. I. Would not recommend this to families as I feel he doesn’t like people making the slightest mess of his house."

"We had a lovely, bright comfortable room with a terrace and view of the sea, plenty of storage and a clean, modern bathroom. Bed comfortable, pillows squashy and locality quiet enough to sleep with the windows open. The area has varied and impressive coastal paths and the intrepid can learn to sail/surf/windsurf. The non-intrepid can hire electric bicycles. We liked being able to visit the pool etc without booking, and the public areas were very inviting and cosy. We felt at home. The local restaurants were all very good and friendly. We had dinner once at the hotel, and were not impressed. When my main course arrived I thought they had brought someone's little starter plate by mistake. I asked if the veg came separately but a smear of green was my spinach and three minuscule slivers of potato were concealed under a tiny sprig of decorative cress. The fish had not been cooked fresh to order as I would expect at these prices and one fillet was half the size of the other. We had cheese to follow to try to recoup some calories and the kind young man who served it gave me an extra morsel of bread, bless him. We cut our losses before dessert, as I had visions of someone elaborately bisecting a raspberry and serving it with a flourish, and went to bed hungry. We decided to see the funny side and it didn't spoil our fantastic holiday. To end on a high note, breakfast is superlative. I have never had better. "

"A nice surprise. The business is primarily the restaurant, but the rooms above are refurbished to a high level given the price bracket, with lovely views out over the beach and bay. Definitely recommend the breakfast which was a big step above the standard cheese & croissant. You cannot reserve dinner with the room and have to phone to book in advance as it is very popular. We were fortunate that they were able to make space for us, and so glad as the food was lovely. Very good service. Only problem here is parking (which is not the fault of the hotel). People circle the village all evening to dive into the few spaces as soon as they are vacated (although it is free to park once you do get a space)."
