Hotels in Kensington, London

Great stay, location is perfect, 2 mins walk to Earls Court. The lower ground room is ok but some windows are high up with electric blinds but one blind wasn't working, so no natural light coming in (gave off jail vibes) but its ok if you're out all day and only come back to sleep and shower was a bit small, Apart from that the apartment was great with a lift, microwave, kettle, cooker and heater in the room with TV. Someone was at reception all the time so the communication was good.

The reception team were friendly at check in, and I was given a beautiful tin of truffles and some drinks vouchers (maybe as a diamond member?). This was really a special touch and appreciated. However the room itself wasn’t great. I’ve stayed in quite a few London hotels so know you don’t get lots of space and for 1 night you don’t need much, but this room was so small it was a struggle to move about. The air conditioning was on but it was weak. Thankfully the window opened slightly but it remained warm in the room. Bathroom was dated, quite small and felt cheap. Minor point but the pillows and duvet didn’t feel like the usual Hilton ones, they seemed thicker… Overall, it was clean, relatively quiet and had great service which is all that’s really needed, but it felt more of a budget hotel with Hilton price tag. I do think they are doing everything they can to make stays as good as possible, since they can’t really do anything about the room sizes.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a good experience. The service was friendly and the location was very convenient. However, I did run into one issue that affected my stay. In the morning, when I went to take a shower, the water wouldn’t get warm at all. Unfortunately, I ended up having to take a cold shower, and since I was rushing to make an appointment, I didn’t have time to report it or get it resolved.

The hotel was in a great location, a quick walk from Kensington High Street tube, and a pleasant 20mins walk to Notting Hill. The hotel itself in entering was very pleasant, looked inviting (with a Starbucks to one side but still within the same atmosphere and decoration) The staff were all friendly, concierge being the most willing and happy to help. The room was a bit disappointing. Appeared very grey and dark on entrance, but everything was clean had what you needed. TV was opposite a small settee, but far more comfortable to sit in the bed so the tv was across to the right, feel the room was too small to have a settee/sitting area as it was immediately next to the door. Didn’t feel inviting. But after the initial disappointment it didn’t need to be much more for our needs. We then used the pool area. Again a bit like the rooms this is a tired looking area, the pool sides stained and peeling bits here and there. The hot tub and steam room were both closed, but swam a few lengths and then used the sauna which was within the changing room area. Sauna was good hot enough too! We were going to have room service as a bit of a novelty, but thought the bar area looked nicer to sit for an hour or so so had a meal there. This was the biggest disappointment and extremely over priced. I was possibly unlucky and ordered the wrong thing, but would not eat here again. I ordered ‘Crushed avocado on a toasted bruschetta with slow roasted tomatoes’ and a side of chunky chips. This can as a dollop of cheap guacamole on a slice of french basic baguette with half a cherry tom on top, 3 of these! I personally can’t eat guacamole on its own so had to scrape most of it off to then eat the bread (and only did because I was by then hungry) Besides that I would stay again but would rather not have paid the price we did.

A lovely hotel in an excellent location - a safe and quiet area. Good room for too people, with a nice and clean bathroom. We also had a small kitchen. Great value for this London area. Close to the tube station and good shops. Would definitely consider it next time.

It was alright the room wasn’t as modern as pictured. The bar and lobby were nice and it was fairly easy to get to via tube links. It would’ve been nice if I could’ve ordered room service as there was a late night menu but unfortunately nobody picked up.

The hotel is quiet for sleeping and conveniently located for transportation. Right outside the lobby, there's a bus stop, and the subway station is just a few minutes' walk away. Kensington Gardens is right next to the hotel, and if you walk down the street, you'll find attractions like Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace all along the way. The restaurant staff are enthusiastic and patient. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in London. However, why hasn't my deposit been refunded to my account a whole month after checking out?

I booked the room for 1 night as I was attending a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. I was very happy with the cost of £73 for the night for a Superior Single room. The staff were friendly & welcoming. My room was on the 4th floor. The lift was very noisy which was a bit of a worry but it worked ok. The room was small with nowhere for me to put my small suitcase. When I first opened my room door I was met with a very noisy portable air con unit. Thankfully the heatwave earlier in the week had eased so I turned off the air con unit. The furnishings & bedding in the room were a little bit tired for a 4* hotel but ok. There were complimentary toiletries, bathroom robe & tea, coffee & a small packet of biscuits. I’d asked for a quiet room if possible & that’s what I got. I had a shower the next morning but it took a while to heat up. Also a non-adjustable monsoon shower head which could be an issue for some. Also part of the shower drain edge was broken. I didn’t pay for a breakfast upon booking as wanted to keep my options open. Both the Trip website & the signs in the hotel stated the cost of the buffet breakfast was £14 but the staff said it was £15. I decided on the breakfast in the end. There was plenty of choice even if the bacon & sausages were a bit dried out but that’s to be expected with a hot buffet breakfast. Caffeine free coffee was also available. I was happy with my short stay at The Rockwell & would definitely book again.

The rooms are quite small, with barely enough space to accommodate two pieces of luggage comfortably. The breakfast selection is very limited and does not offer good value for money, so I would not recommend paying extra for it. They also don’t do room service. That said, the location is excellent - just a short walk from Earl’s Court station, making it convenient for getting around in London.

The environment is elegant and serene. In the mornings, when you open the window, the fragrant scent of flowers from the garden below wafts in. The surrounding area is a quiet residential neighborhood, completely free of any noise. The facilities are comprehensive, clean, and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. The transportation is incredibly convenient, with supermarkets, restaurants, and even a hospital all within walking distance. Both female staff members I encountered during check-in and check-out were exceptionally warm, gracious, and attentive 🌹. A truly satisfying stay! 👍
