"I usually stay in Premier Inns as I find them very reliable. This was my first time staying in this one in Matlock. It did'nt disappoint. Check-in was quick and easy, my room, on the second floor, was exceptionally clean, quiet and as expected was very comfortable. I chose to have a full cooked breakfast every day and it was excellent. I also booked several dinners in the hotel, all were excellent. The hotel team were all really friendly and helpful but I must give a shout out to Russell who was a star!"

"I now remember the value and personal service you can get from a small B&B compared to larger establishments. From initial booking Ziz was excellent in the way she communicated and engaged with us. She provided some excellent recommendations for restaurants and places to go and visit. She gave us suggestions for walks in the area and local stately homes etc... When we arrived the room was ready and we stayed at the top of the house in "The Loft". The room was bright, airy and extremely comfortable. Excellent Tea Tray and storage etc.... The accommodation is literally a 10 minute stroll to the centre of Matlock. Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent quality. A full Derbyshire is highly recommended! I would recommend Sheriff Lodge to anyone wanting a good quality accommodation, with an excellent host who is highly regarded in the area."

"Lovely B&B. The owners have thought of everything! Rooms are individually decorated. The whole place is warm and cosy, spotlessly clean. Up a very steep hill, but lovely views across the valley. Not too long a walk into Matlock and Matlock Bath, but remember coming back is all up hill! Breakfast was lovely, with everything being sourced locally. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners."
