"As the title says, Ylang Ylang created the wedding of our dreams. From the earliest stages of planning through our final day at the resort, Moraya, Emma, and the entire team treated our celebration with genuine care, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail. Our welcome cocktail party, beachfront ceremony, reception dinner, and dance party were all absolutely perfect. Each event felt effortless, intimate, and uniquely ours. The setting was breathtaking, the food and cocktails were exceptional, and every detail came together better than we could have imagined. As a bonus, they worked with us to create custom signature cocktails inspired by our pets. As a same-sex couple, it was especially meaningful to feel completely comfortable, genuinely celebrated, and cared for throughout the entire experience. We never felt merely accommodated. The entire team embraced our wedding wholeheartedly and made us feel that our love and celebration were just as important to them as they were to us. Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming, but we could feel that our celebration was in capable and caring hands. Emma and Moraya handled every request with patience and flexibility, allowing us to be fully present with one another and the people we love. We never felt like just another wedding on the schedule. They made the entire week feel deeply personal, and we felt heard every step of the way. The food throughout our stay was absolutely delicious and exceeded every expectation. Every meal felt fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. They even prepared fresh tuna that some of our guests caught on a fishing expedition earlier that day and added it to the menu for dinner after our welcome cocktail party. Our family and friends are still talking about the food, the incredible service, most notably from Francesco and Patricia, and the warmth and attentiveness of the entire team. We stayed in the Treetop Canopy, which gave us the perfect balance of privacy while still allowing us to feel closely connected to our guests. The capuchin monkeys quite literally come and hang out with you on the porch. I will never forget sitting beside one on the outdoor sofa as it slept peacefully on the railing only feet away from me. Ylang Ylang gave us far more than a beautiful wedding venue. They created the setting for some of the happiest and most meaningful moments of our lives. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding week, and this incredible resort will always hold a very special place in our hearts. We will absolutely return, and we will enthusiastically recommend Ylang Ylang to every couple looking for an unforgettable destination wedding in Costa Rica. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. "The views over Montezuma were lovely, but the stay didn’t meet expectations. The road in was sketchy, the pool was more the size of a small spa, and the beds were so stiff we couldn’t stay the night. We were promised a 70% refund and are still waiting. While some guests said they loved it, for us it felt more like a hostel than a sanctuary."

"We came to hotel NYA for our honeymoon and were very impressed by the service! By far the best hotel stay we’ve had so far, the rooms were very clean, breakfast was delicious, and staff were very kind and helpful. Every day the staff delivered a little dessert to our room free of charge, and surprised us with a honeymoon gift of a bottle of champagne and a charcuterie board with warm fresh made bread and a handmade card. We highly recommend NYA for anyone staying in Montezuma!"

"The good: the hotel is located a short walk from the beach, right in the middle of the tiny town of Montezuma. Through their sister hotel Ylang Ylang, I booked a fantastic birding tour with eagle-eyed Eduardo. It was inexpensive and included breakfast and air conditioning. The not so good: the mattress was quite hard. I thought there might not be hot water, but it was just very slow. The layout is that there's a hallway with side by side rooms. The room had a window that looked out onto the hallway, but no exterior light. There were also noisy neighbors and there was no sound dampening. You have to ask for the wifi password. I tried to walk down the beach to Ylang Ylang for the pool, and maybe it was just me, but it was much more than a 10 minute walk! There is a shady dirt road, but nobody seemed to know how I could get to it. "

"Excellent place with a nice pool and correctly mounted aircon. Staff is super friendly and the free morning coffee, biscuits and bananas are delightful. Rooms are on the small side but cozy and clean. The garden in which the hotel sits has plenty of bird life, even a hummingbird that comes to feed on the many flowers several times throughout the day. Highly recommend."

"I stayed here for 3 nights after walking out of my hostel I had originally booked. Hotel Aurora had a lovely room, fan, fridge, coffee maker, hammock, table, and chairs outside my door. Very clean shared kitchen. From the balcony, I saw howler monkeys and even an armadillo, as the property overlooks a park. Good for the budget conscious in low season."
