"It was my first time in Meizhou. The meticulous service and friendly smiles of the hotel staff made me fall in love with this city. The hotel environment is very beautiful, especially suitable for bringing the elderly and children. We were also impressed by an electric car driver named Huamei, who was very friendly. "Couples with pets, enjoying a road trip to Meizhou – this accommodation offers excellent value for money. Firstly, it's relatively quiet. It's near the Thousand Buddha Pagoda to the east, the Catholic Church to the north, and several university campuses to the south and west. The view from the window is of a somewhat desolate, rural area – not exactly scenic, but you can sleep in. It would be even better if the cleaning staff weren't talking loudly in the hallway. Secondly, it's conveniently located with free parking. The hotel is about 3 kilometers from the Hakka Museum, Dongshan Academy, and the Meijiang River night cruise. Lingfeng West Road/Zhongshan Road and Wanda Plaza are about 5 kilometers away for dining and shopping. Yinna Mountain Cherry Blossom Garden and Lingguang Temple are about 40 kilometers away. Thirdly, the rooms are spacious. At 250+ RMB per night, each room is 38 square meters and features a quiet sleeping area with wooden floors and a wash area with cement floors. There's a shower and bathtub (disposable bathtub covers are provided). The windows in the sleeping area seem to have some soundproofing, but the windows in the washroom area weren't very soundproof when it rained at night. Thankfully, there was a wooden sliding door separating them. It would be great if they could replace the toilets with smart ones… Fourth, it's pet-friendly, but only in terms of the check-in policy… The front desk required an extra 20 yuan for pet cleaning at check-in, which wasn't mentioned on the website beforehand, making the user experience a bit strange. We extended our stay in the same room the next day without being charged again. We brought our three-month-old, 1.3kg Maltese puppy, who had brought its own bed and sleeping mat, and was already trained to only urinate and defecate in its crate and on the pee pad. If pet-friendly hotels provided additional services like sleeping mats, crates, pee pads, small toys, and treats for pets, and charged extra, we would be more willing to accept it. Fifth, the front desk staff were very friendly. They even gave us a large bottle of white tea shampoo before we left, which was very generous! Hoping the owner will prosper! Perhaps develop the wasteland downstairs into a scenic area with a green garden outside the window, and come back in the spring."

"I brought my mom here based on a travel blogger's recommendation. The blogger mentioned that the front desk helped with luggage upon arrival, but we didn't receive that service. The location is excellent; it's lovely to stroll along the river after dinner, and it's very convenient to get to the old town. We were given complimentary fruit. The cleanliness was just so-so, and some areas felt a bit dated. My main complaint is that the floors are thin, and the soundproofing from upstairs is poor. We unfortunately had children staying above us who were running barefoot at 11:30 PM, during naptime, and again at 6 AM. I reported it to the front desk staff, hoping they could speak to them, but instead of potentially offending the guests, they offered to move us to another room. I declined because I didn't want the hassle of packing and moving all our luggage. Unfortunately, the noise continued on the second night. This was quite bothersome to me."

"The guesthouse is located inside the Hakka Cultural Square, in a nice environment. It's right next to the scenic area, bustling with people. Behind it is a river, and along the riverbank is a large grove of pomelo trees. Meizhou is famous for its Shatang pomelos, so this place is called Pomelo Isle! Changsha has Orange Isle, and this is Pomelo Isle. It feels a bit like a poor imitation! We booked a five-room guesthouse as a group of friends and family, thinking that at least there would be a living room where everyone could sit and chat over tea. However, I didn't check the facilities carefully and assumed they were there. Another guesthouse looked better in the pictures, and since the price was the same, I assumed the layout would be similar. But upon arrival, I realized there was a significant difference! The customer service was excellent. We arrived around noon, before check-in time, and they arranged for us to have tea at a large tea table in the back garden. It was almost 2 PM when they finally cleaned up and let us in. The rooms are on either side of the building, and the bathroom is in the middle of the corridor – four people share one bathroom. This was a bit inconvenient. Everything else was fine! The breakfast was also good! Overall, it's worth a try!"

I had a fantastic experience staying at Jingwan Hotel, conveniently located near Songkou Ancient Town, a charming historic area known for its peaceful atmosphere and cultural heritage. The room was very spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was especially comfortable, which made it easy to relax after a day of exploring. What truly made this hotel stand out, however, was the exceptional customer service. I received tremendous help from Xiao Zhu, who went above and beyond to make my stay smooth and enjoyable. She guided me on how to get to the hotel, recommended places to visit and eat, and patiently communicated with me through WeChat despite the language barrier. Her kindness didn’t stop there—she even gave me a ride to the bus station on her bike, which I deeply appreciated. I highly recommend Jingwan Hotel to anyone visiting Songkou. The warm hospitality alone makes it worth the stay!"
