Hotel Paulsen ★★★

📍 Meyerstraße 22, Zeven

"Good value for money. Restaurant is better then an average hotel restaurant. Well maintained place to stay for business travelers and small business events."

Hotel Oyten am Markt
8.3 (37 reviews)

Hotel Oyten am Markt ★★

📍 Hauptstraße 85, Oyten

"I have friends who live nearby and I wanted a place that’s convenient for everyone and am happy I chose this hotel. It’s family run, it appears, and very sweet. I absolutely love smaller hotels. Everyone was very helpful, the bed was great, coffee downstairs was fab. I didn’t partake of the breakfast because I met friends for breakfast but I did see the breakfast food and it looked wonderful, very healthy and fresh. The room and hotel uses actual keys which I LOVED! It’s so easy to just use a key. The room was clean, and had what I needed and is close to everything in this little town, and my friends who picked me up really were happy they have parking. I really prefer smaller hotels…private, different, thoughtful. I also like to be left alone…;)"

Landgut Stemmen
8.8 (59 reviews)

Landgut Stemmen ★★★★

📍 Große Str. 12, Stemmen

"A shot in the small countryside is the scenery, very comfortable, the happiest night in Germany. The hotel has a long history but the interior is relatively clean and the countryside is very quiet at night."

Hotel Landhaus Wachtelhof
8.9 (44 reviews)

Hotel Landhaus Wachtelhof ★★★★★

📍 Hotel-Landhaus Wachtelhof, Gerberstraße 6, Rotenburg an der Wumme

"I stayed at this hotel for four nights on a business trip, but, as the title of my review suggests, I don't consider it a 5-star superior hotel at all. From the outside, it looks very nice, German-style, and the umbrellas available for guests are a great service, given the gloomy days we encountered. My room was a comfort double, very large, with a bathroom with a shower (the showerhead was broken and leaking) and a bathtub; there's no bidet. The towels weren't the cleanest and (despite being changed daily) still had stains. There was an incredible waste of plastic, as all the body products—from shampoo and conditioner to shower gel and body lotion—were in single-use bottles. The room, very large, is carpeted, the double bed is actually two singles pushed together, and the blankets are the classic Northern European "duvet bag." A nice bonus was having a couple of apples and two bottles of sparkling water available in the room every day. The downside is breakfast: at nearly €160 a night, breakfast wasn't included, and we paid €38 (!) for it. It's definitely not worth the expense. Fresh products are available (cheeses, cold cuts, jams, juices, yogurt, etc.), but the problem was the excruciating wait for hot items (from the menu), like eggs, pancakes, or crepes (almost 20 minutes in a practically empty breakfast room), or the fact that two out of three waiters didn't speak English. The outdoor parking lot is quite small and fills up quickly; the alternative is to park on the street or on the other side, where there's a Penny Market. I wouldn't stay here again."

Hotel & Restaurant Prüser´s Gasthof
8.5 (32 reviews)

Hotel & Restaurant Prüser´s Gasthof ★★★★

📍 Dorfstraße 5, Hellwege

"After a long trip with a lot of Stau, a fixed rainfall arrived in this pre-booked hotel. All the most friendly reception, a great room and a royal meal. After such a trip, you can't wish anything better. We will certainly come back here."

Hotel & Restaurant Schröder
8.6 (18 reviews)

Hotel & Restaurant Schröder ★★★

📍 Am Kuhbach 1, GroB Meckelsen

"This European car hotel is extremely intimate. Own spacious parking lot, free and safe. The room was bright and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, ten minutes walk to the town center, breakfast had fresh bread and cheese. The perfect place to stay on the way to self-driving, will come again next time."

Heidenauer Hotel im Park
8.1 (18 reviews)

Heidenauer Hotel im Park

📍 Bahnhofstr., 2, Heidenau

"Due to the weather, we stayed there from Saturday, January 3rd, 2026, on our way back from vacation in Denmark. The reception staff were very friendly, and we paid €104 for the night, including our dog. There was no breakfast, nor a restaurant or bar (though these are supposed to open soon). Only cash payments were accepted, as the hotel had just reopened on January 1st, 2026. So far, so good. We're giving it 3 stars because the room was really outdated, as was the bathroom. A new opening, and then unfortunately old furniture and a brown carpet—everything from the 80s, I suspect. I don't mind the age itself, but all in all, it was really very uncomfortable and unappealing. Nevertheless, thank you for the warm welcome."

Haus Biederstaedt

Haus Biederstaedt ★★★

📍 Am Kindergarten 3, Ottersberg

"2nd overnight visit this year - "remote check-in / check -out" super flexible and necessary on the variable A1. Service very helpful, rooms clean with all you need for a good sleep away from light and noise pollution :) !!"

"Overall 3-5. Really nice staff, but hotel is a little bit dated. TVs in the room are old, and no A/C in the rooms. Breakfast is ‘ok’ and parking is good …"

"The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were very nice and clean, and you're only a short walk to both the train and the city center. There are walking paths right around the hotel as well, and it all felt very peaceful. Here's where the problem comes in. I have to eat gluten-free and for dinner (at the hotel restaurant) one night I was eating a piece of gf bread at the start of the meal. Crunch. I bit down on what was either a chunk of plastic or glass. It looked to have a pinkish color on it when I took it out of my mouth, and what I hope was residue from the spread that was on the table. I don't know. I complained, of course, to the staff. They don't make the gf bread in-house, so they said they would send it to the manufacturer for inspection and to find out what it was. And, let me know. I was very upset. Very. I could have choked on it, swallowed it, cracked my teeth (which I had to ask my dentist about), cut myself - you name it. I could have spent my visit in the local hospital. What happened next? Well...I was going to be billed for the meal, which I had to ask to be comped. Unbelievable. As I was told they would get to the bottom of this, I had lunch the next day at the hotel restaurant (with the food they make in-house) and they tried serving me the bread again. I said absolutely not - and that they should absolutely not be serving it to guests. The manufacturer should be issuing a recall given what happened as other pieces could be contained in other bread. This was all in March. Again, I was repeatedly told that they would find out (since I keep reaching out) and in the months since, that they were waiting to hear from the manufacturer. Not good enough. If this is how management handles a situation like this it leads me to question everything else about what they do. You don't treat guests like this. Even if you did not make the bread in your kitchen, you are serving it to guests! And, I sincerely hope that you have stopped. Take some responsibility. I don't want to hear - after three months - that you have never heard back. Or tell me the manufacturer so I could get to the bottom of it, including finding out what material it was and what was on it. I will file a claim since you supposedly are not getting a response. This is all unacceptable."

"Great, unseen hotel located on the street. Very friendly staff. Great decoration concept, beautiful design of the interior rooms. Rooms always very clean. The kitchen uses best ingredients and enchantes even better food from it. Need to test! Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi and the mobile network work very badly. But the hotel cannot do anything for that. It is normal in this region."

"We've stayed at this hotel many times before, but under the previous owners. The new owner has simply taken over the hotel as is. The rooms haven't been painted, nor has anything else been renovated. The grout in the bathroom is moldy, and even the toilet seat is the old one, completely yellow. The price is far too high, especially since there's no breakfast included. There's a bakery next door where you can buy something. There isn't even a voucher for a free coffee. We used to have a breakfast buffet. Even better, there's a bottle of water on the table upon arrival, which is standard service in every other hotel, but here you have to pay for it. Then there's the smell in the room—it's awful. I can't describe what it was, but I found it very unpleasant. I wouldn't recommend it."
