"Great place, extremely relaxing in this month of April. Being outside the tourist season and in an extremely hot period we were able to take advantage of the swimming pool, great on the banks of the Mekong. It's actually not very far from the main street of Pakbeng. We were even able to see the elephants bathing opposite. If you stay long enough, go and spend some time at Mekong Elephant Park, it's a magnificent project."

"We stayed for one night during a cruise down the Mekong. Our room was lovely, probably the best location in the hotel complex. Comfortable and well equipped. It appears that all of the rooms are in detached buildings. We had a delightful outside area with a shelter and a great view across the river. The pool is large and has a handy bar. The restaurant is up the hill so be prepared. We did not sample the main menu as our set menu meal was prebooked. Breakfast was adequate but unremarkable."

"The slow boat from Luang Prabang stops off at Pak Beng befor continuing the next day. This hostel is close to the Mekong river. The dorm was clean and quiet. You have to walk through the reception to access the toilets and shower. It is next to the main road and they close the shutter at night for security. In the morning the roosters wake you up to make sure you do not miss the boat which leaves at 08:30 for Thailand."

"This was be far the best hotel we stayed in Laos. The room was dreamy and like being in a film. Romantic, incredible views of the Mekong and a mind blowing sunset. It’s not luxurious but rather shabby chic. The only slight disappointment was the quality of the food but the rest of the hotel experience more than made up for this."
