"We returned yesterday from a holiday in Lixouri in Kefalonia and stayed in this hotel which we absolutely recommend. Convenient as a starting point for the beautiful nearby beaches or more challenging trips. The center is just a stone's throw away, as is the port and the many taverns. The car park behind the hotel, the owner, an exquisite person, pampered us with large quantities of fresh fruit which he also made available for us on the day of departure... It's a pleasure to meet people like that and we will definitely be back. We thank him because he also contributed to making this holiday beautiful!"

"There are no words to express how amazing these villas are. It was the absolute perfect place for our week in Kefelonia. The residences are in a quiet spot near Xi Beach, and are absolutely gorgeous. They are modern and clean. We really don’t have words to express how amazing this place is. The grounds are gorgeous. We awoke each morning to look out the huge glass doors to see the sea and sunrise. We could walk the wooden boardwalk to our own beach to swim in the sea. We felt like we were in our own world of luxury and paradise. The staff was wonderful to communicate with and provided us with a lot of information as we needed. STAY HERE! Absolutely amazing."

"Many thanks to the wonderful owners, beautiful people with a very nice vibe. We had a wonderful week in kefalonia and we were able to recharge our batteries in this quiet and friendly place. The accomodation is located in a very quiet place, 5 minutes to Lixouri and 15 to 30 minutes to the best beaches in kefalonia. The owners are excellent people Ps. Beds are super comfortable!"

"Arrived and checked in straight away. Lovely big apartment, big bedroom with big comfy bed, well equipped kitchen area (hob, microwave, utensils and big fridge with decent freezer compartment). Balcony area massive with sofa and table and chairs. Bathroom and shower really good, plenty of hot water and powerful shower. Both pools lovely and clean with plenty of sunbeds with comfy mattress toppers. Fridge with cold drinks by pool with honesty notepad, write down what you’ve taken and settle up later - very reasonable prices too. Breakfast was good with a great choice of hot and cold drinks and hot and cold choices to eat; toast, omelette, fried egg, bacon, hard boiled egg, fruit, yoghurts, cake, meat, cheese, waffles. Short walk to beach and bars (5 mins) couple of mini markets for snacks and drinks or towels/diving mask and flip flops etc. Some decent restaurants a short walk away too. Not much of the beach left due to erosion but if you walk along the beach to the left and wade around the rocks (knee deep) to Megas Lakkos beach it’s wider and more sand. Water is very shallow and great for kids. Bigger supermarket 5 minute drive away towards Lixouri along with more restaurants and nightlife. would recommend having a car, car hire directly opposite but we hired from the airport as week hire was a lot cheaper than transfers. Can hire a car and arrange transfers direct from Petros if needed. Overall a great week, nice and friendly and quiet and a good base for exploring. Can’t fault anything at all 11 out of 10"

" I decided to visit Kefalonia after seeing a photo of the Petani Bay Hotel. So I had a lot of expectations. The hotel requires a minimum of 3 nights and Mrs. Voula kindly let me stay for the 2 nights I had available after changing my flight date. Before Petani Bay, we had stayed at the excellent Leivatho Hotel, where I paid less than half the price at Petani Bay and they offered us much more. The hotel is very beautiful, well maintained, with an incredible view of Petani Beach. The employee Helena is really fantastic. The room is very spacious, with a beautiful view of Petani Beach. Kitchen utensils scarce. There was almost nothing Great bathroom, shower and amenities. Very good breakfast. What was missing? It had everything to be spectacular but it was a normal accommodation, I even thought the price was high for what was offered. I paid less than half the price at Leivatho and they offered us much more. Conclusion: a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful place but it lacked a touch of affection for the guest and despite having a kitchen in the room, there were almost no utensils. Would I go back: maybe. Although the three-night minimum is too much in a hotel with no restaurant, no attractions other than the pool and neach."

"We have just returned from the Hotel Palatino In Lixouri. What a wonderful holiday we had! The hotel is a welcoming place to stay and although the rooms are basic they have comfortable beds , an unending supply of hot shower water and the cleaning staff visit every day providing clean towels and often changing the sheets. The sea view from the balcony ( we had a high floor ) is breathtaking and it’s a beautiful place to sit with a glass of wine or two admiring the scenery, watching the ferry from Argostoli coming to and fro , letting the peaceful atmosphere in Kefalonia work its usual magic on your heart and soul. I know some other reviewers have been disappointed with the breakfast but we thoroughly enjoyed the fresh melon with yogurt, eggs, sausages, pastries, uncut bread, juices etc. What made the Palatino so memorable for us was undoubtedly the staff. The receptionists , the bar staff and the lady who did all the cooking and the cleaners were all so friendly . Of course you couldn’t stay here without mentioning Zoe the amazing life guard. What an asset she is to the hotel! She has a lovely manner and even when she has to remind people that they can’t drink from a glass on their sun beds, or people who are ducking each other and getting too boisterous and she has to intervene people accept her guidance with understanding. She is always helping guests with their sunshades ensuring they are safely put up and in place and sometimes will help someone to learn to swim or even learn to speak Greek! Thanks Zoe for making the pool a tranquil oasis and for consistently putting safety first. Finally a warm greeting to my American pool buddy Patricia who is staying for another fifty days. What a delightful lady to meet maybe if you are going soon you will have that pleasure! So if in doubt… just book the Palatino I don’t think that you will regret it!! We loved it! We will be back!"
