"My first comment is a negative one. Don't know if it's the hotel or Trip com The taxi dropped me off near the address but couldn't find the hotel. Luckily after asking somewhere else, who didn't know and 14 minutes walking around I luckily walked into another hotel to ask and Judy happened to be my hotel called Liz hotel not Mehood. Hotel was lovely and clean and reception staff couldn't do enough , with Google translate. Breakfast not as expected , think they mentioned catered for Westerners, I think they meant Western Chinese. Everything was Chinese, all the food and labels. You probably say when in China and all that but most hotels around the world cater for foreign guest a little., I would have thought one near the border too.. Some fried eggs and bread and toaster . No butter for bread. No cutlery other then chopstick and spoon. I asked for knife or fork demonstrating actions be side I cannot speak Chinese , they said no and showed my chopsticks. To be fair they brought out a fork later to me. So impressions hotel was good standard and well worth the money but not for foreigners."

"The location is good, and it's an old hotel. You can see its past glory. The facilities are complete, the hotel is clean, and the breakfast is rich. One shortcoming is that the window is against the wall, which basically blocks the light, but the cheap price is still satisfactory. I will stay here again if I have the chance."

"In short: disgusting rooms in a decrepit building, helpless staff. Long version: arrived after a long rainy day very tired. The room we were given (512) had the window open during the whole day of heavy rain so everything was wet, aside of that the window didn't close properly anyway. The bedding felt damp and the chair underneath the window was soaked. We asked for another room and were given the key to 412, same story there, water on the floor and everything wet because the window was left open during the rain. Asked again for a change of rooms and were told, we could cancel and book another room. Only when we said that if we cancelled, we would go elsewhere, we were given another room. The girl at reception explained via translator-app with a lot of faffing about how this was a free upgrade from the special priced room we had booked to a much better room (got 510). I'm not sure what was upgraded, maybe the mold levels or the size of cockroaches in the room? Or maybe the amount of piss stains on the toilet. Probably a combination of all that. Aside of that the room was maybe 5 square meters larger, that's all. At least the bed was dry and by now the free cancellation time frame was over. We stayed just because we desperately needed to sleep. The toilet in the room wasn't cleaned at all, neither was the bathroom, the windows were broken and even after the rain there was water dripping from the ceiling in two places, luckily not close to the bed. The room had two hairdryers, both of them are broken, just like most other installations in the room. We're backpackers and normally really not too worried about the quality of rooms if it's just for one night, but this place is with a distance the worst we stayed at in the whole of Asia. Funny thing is, when we checked out the next day the doors on the other side of the hallway were open and the rooms there looked freshly renovated. They were the same size and amenities, so they could have just as well put us into one of those instead of the mold farm they bunked us up on. Exceptionally poor service. Never again."

"The room is well designed, the bathroom is separated into three parts, and the transportation is convenient. Our family booked 4 rooms for the New Year. We came to the Guangxi border to play, and went to Youyiguan. We stayed in Pingxiang for one night and had a good sleep before leaving! Happy New Year"

"The hotel experience was truly excellent. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept soundly until morning. Overall, it was great value for money, the environment was quiet, and the cleanliness and facilities were top-notch. The staff member 007 was incredibly friendly and attentive. When I left my room key in the room while I went to get breakfast, they diligently helped me resolve the issue. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area, and I highly recommend it!"

During the Spring Festival, the hotel was very busy, and the buffet breakfast was replenished quickly. The lady serving hot pot was very welcoming. Half border life, half mahogany elegance. The wind blows through the Friendship Pass gate tower, Turning the pages of a century of war, and the morning light. The kapok flower is the torch of the frontier, Igniting the passion of the entire red earth, and illuminating the steel guns of the border guards. One foot in China, one foot in Vietnam. Here, you can smoothly cross the border without a passport."
