Relais du Bois Saint Georges - Hôtel de Charme

Relais du Bois Saint Georges - Hôtel de Charme ★★★★

📍 132 Cr Genet, Saintes

"We had a wonderful brief stay here several decades ago. Delighted to find that it is still a splendid venue with soothing and inspiring grounds , a welcoming and professional staff and very comfortable and somewhat distinctive rooms. A few slight frustrations;: twilight lighting in the bathroom, small sinks designed to splash outside and the lack of an overhead vent fan. But the bed and bedding are quite comfortable, the breakfast exemplary; ample parking and east access to major roads. The price is quite fair for a place that aspires to and delivers a superior stay."

Premiere Classe Saintes ★★
"It’s a premiere classe so you don’t expect much, but they could at least keep their hotels clean. Inadequate AC for the weather, but it gave us a place to sleep for a cheap price, and the staff were very friendly."

Cit'Hotel des Messageries ★★★
"Hotel in the centre near the river. Receptionist was not in shape, muffled everything in French. Parking in a small garage near the nice dining streets. Old building, somewhat clean, walk through, walk through, room smoke muff, view of the indoor. Good bed, average breakfast. Well, a nice night stay in Ipv... a sleeping box on an industrial site."

B&B Hotel Saintes ★★★
"It was located near to motoway, so very convenient to stay for 1 night on the way to Spain. For our family, 4 people and 1 dog, we have booked a room having a double bed and 2 single beds, but the room size itself is quite small. Since it is just for 1 night, no big complaints. Parking is easy, and no experience for breakfast as we lelt early morning. In the room, there is a window but it was super noisy (cars passing by) so we could not keep open. Since it is a budget hotel, ok that there is not much stuff but it will be great if there is a small minibar which we can store some drinks cold. Overall, value for money for this type of travelers"

Relais du Bois Saint Georges - Hôtel de Charme ★★★★
"I get the impression that most people use this hotel as a one night stopover. We had three nights and enjoyed the garden with its film set lakes with ducks, a swan and various other wildlife. The house is a converted farmhouse with an eclectic mix of old and new furniture. Our room was long and dark with a small terrace overlooking the garden, adequately furnished but with those awful hard rubber pillows the French seem to like. The bathroom was ok but could have done with another hook or two to hang towels which we were encouraged not to have changed. The food was fantastic, definitely worthy of five stars, but be warned the very small menu did not change the three nights we were there. Breakfasts were disappointing, delivered in a basket either to your room or a table, the pastries were rather dry, coffee in a thermos pretty awful. You have to say on arrival what you want for breakfast and unless you specifically change it, you get the same every day. Nearby Saintes had interesting old remains and walking through exploring it was a pleasure."

Brit Hotel Bleu Nuit ★★★
"I’ve stayed in Brit Hotels before. They aren’t the most modern or palatial, but they inevitably give you a comfortable stay at a great price. Le Bleu Nuit was no exemption. From the really warm welcome and the help to store my bike in the garage, you knew this was going to be a good stay. The hotel and the room were obviously a little dated, but everything in the room was cared for, it was very well-equipped (including a kettle), there were plenty of sockets, and both the room and the bathroom were immaculately clean. Good double glazing ensured I had a really good sleep even though I faced onto the main road. In short, if you’re looking for cozy comfort in a small, basic but immaculately clean hotel, this is for you. Absolutely recommended, and fantastic value."

The Originals City, Hôtel des Arènes, Saintes
"The room type of the picture we lived in, on the left is the doorway to the parking lot, and we carry our luggage out here when we leave. On the right is the bathroom, which is quite large and has a heater. It is estimated that you can not be afraid of cold in winter. Behind is the doorway and writing desk leading to the corridor, which is very comfortable."
