"The Apex hotel, location is just perfect. 5 minutes from Edinburgh Waverly station. Pros: Location, cleanliness, accessibility. Cons: It was just our experience, where we went out and came back to our room with a leaking bathroom. The upper light socket was pouring and leaking water. But, the team quickly sent the maintenance to check, moved us to another room and provided a complimentary breakfast. This is a really a good hotel, where you can easily walk to key locations and use public transport for travel. A good place, and I would recommend to other fellow travelers."

"This hotel is really convenient for transport. It's close to the airport, and right next to the train station, from which it's only a 12-minute direct ride to the city center. It's just as good as those hotels in the city that cost over a thousand [currency unit] a night! Plus, there's a super big supermarket next door, which is perfect for picking up souvenirs. Just a heads-up: the hotel's standard is to clean every three days, so if you prefer daily cleaning, remember to arrange it when you check in!"

"The absolute best thing about this hotel is the service! We checked in late at night, tired and cold after getting off the train. Isabel at the front desk was incredibly thoughtful, preparing various hot drinks for us, and cookies and teddy bears for the kids. She personally escorted us to our room, engaging in such a warm and fun interaction with my two children along the way that they absolutely adored her! During our conversation, Isabel learned about the kids' favorite colors and toys. The next evening, she even came to our room to deliver gifts for them, which made the kids incredibly happy! My older daughter repeatedly told me to make sure to give a huge shout-out to the lovely Isabel! The hotel's location is also great, convenient for both the train station and the attractions in the Old Town. The breakfast restaurant offers a nice view as well."

"The hotel was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the reception staff was welcoming and amazing! I was thoroughly disappointed at the breakfast selection - the eggs were overcooked and floating in water, it was quite gross. The gentleman taking care of the tables was quite rude. We asked the reception whether we can look at the breakfast before we make a decision to add on, she said sure, we went there and this gentleman working the floor was quite rude saying for how many? I told him I am still deciding as my partner wanted to come in and have breakfast too. It was me and my mom staying in the room, but he was so pushy and rude, he asked for my room number, I gave it to him, he came back saying it's not paid and I said to him I know I am just deciding if I want to add it on -- we were standing away from the food and didn't have plates or anything, we were just texting my partner to get a decision from him. He was so rude and said ”see I told you, this is why I asked, come with me” and he had a very rude attitude. We paid for it at the bar and then went to sit down, but this gentleman was the only rude man in the hotel - quite frankly would not eat at that place again!  He messed the whole experience for us. "

"I really enjoyed my four days. Wonderful hotel the team was very friendly and helpful at all times of the day. Great location easy to get to from the Station/airport. Good trams service along Princes Street. Plenty of buses along South Bridge which is a short walk. Enjoyed the spa facilities especially the swimming pool. The lounge near the reception area is a little chilly but a nice spot to relax with a warm drink. Overall a very pleasant stay. Would recommend. Rooms Good size room, fantastic shower and products. Bed was very comfortable. It was a tad cold so I requested a blanket which was very snug. Bonus having a fridge and complimentary water nice touch. Tea/coffee try was good but would be great to have some hot chocolate. Nearby activities Holyrood Palace and gardens on your doorstep along with great views of Arthur Seat. Five minutes walk to the Royal Mile. Food and drinks There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel. I found the food a bit hit and miss to be honest. Breakfast is great with a great choice in food for all palettes. Warm friendly service."

"This is a classic British-style hotel in Edinburgh, highly recommended by a friend. Due to a change in our itinerary, Ctrip was very responsible in communicating with us, but the hotel refused to adjust the dates or the number of rooms, so we had to cancel and rebook, with the price going from 6,700 to 9,200... Since we were traveling with a child, the hotel added a small bed for free. Although the mattress was very soft, it was a great value at no extra charge. The hotel's amenities are exquisite, and upon check-in, they gave us small cookies that we could draw with syrup. We also received three bottles of water and a Scottish seabird doll every day. The breakfast was the same every day, but the fruit was delicious, and they provided heated milk, maintaining the quality of a high-end hotel. Overall, it's a hotel with good service and facilities, but the price wasn't as impressive."

"Excellent location, next to Edinburgh Castle. It is a very old hotel with good facilities, a small swimming pool and sauna. A family of three checked in and the front desk gave us a family room with a separate small bed. The view outside the window is also good. There is a bathtub and capsule coffee. There is TESCO downstairs, which is very convenient for shopping. Such a good room, buy some beer and drink it in the room, it's really not too good ☺️ The breakfast on the first floor is very good 35 pounds per person. The main meal must be told to the waiter separately, which is included in the 35 pounds. This hotel has hosted members of the British royal family. There are photos in the restaurant on the first floor. It takes 15 minutes to walk to Cardington Hill. You can see Edinburgh Castle all the way. The surrounding core scenic spots are 15 minutes walk, which is great! A very satisfactory stay experience 👍👍👍"

GGuest UserA lovely hotel with a luxurious feel to it. Great service from staff even when we had an issue it was sorted swiftly and professionally. Both the restaurant and the bar, which also served food was excellent and staff everywhere were very attentive and courteous. It would be a good idea to offer the reduced breakfast rate when hotel guests change their mind for their whole stay not just on the day they check in as plans can change as tourists to Edinburgh, especially with the weather being so hit & miss! Especially if they call ahead to book a breakfast. The location of the hotel just steps away from the foot of the Edinburgh Castle is perfect and walking distance to most places. The pool is fantastic but once again, when at the pool, guests may change their mind and want to visit the spa facilities so it may be a good idea to offer an hour option for those wishing to do this. This would benefit both hotel and guests. A great hotel and I would highly recommend.
