"The hotel is situated halfway up a hill and offers ample parking in front of the rooms. We booked a two-bedroom room with ocean views, including views of The Nut Rock from the living room and one bedroom. The room facilities were relatively new. It included a stovetop, refrigerator, and microwave for simple cooking. Overall, the experience was worth the price and was a good choice for those passing through Stanley."

"I support the other very complimentary reviews of this hotel. It is a most attractive historic building in an excellent location. My upstairs room was well furnished, thoughtfully designed and decorated, well maintained and spotlessly clean. It had a good range of facilities. The breakfast left there each day was very tasty. Parking was easy. The self check in process worked smoothly. Although close to a road, the hotel is quiet at night. I slept well in a comfortable bed. Shower pressure was good."

Upon arriving at the reception, the front desk staff, as shown in the first two pictures, proactively used a map to explain the attractions in Stanley, marking each one for us. Later, there are photos of the room and the view, including the DIY breakfast ingredients in the fridge. It was fantastic!"

"Never ever will we camp here again!! The girls built a tiny cubby house out of 3 fern leaves that someone had cut down and the 2 males that inspect the park blamed the girls for destroying the habitat and made them cry because they were so mean also said we would loose our bond because of the fire pit which they inspected once we set up and they charged us a $15 inspection fee that we didn’t know about u til we realised we have been charged twice, so nearly $600 for 3 nights the fire is tiny compared to others and we don’t have any music going or doing the wrong thing!! When I went to reception after the girls took the cubby down I was met by both the owners and again the man verbally attacked me u til I was in tears and his wife told him to cut it and and pushed him into another room. We spoke to a lot of people that were there camping over the weekend and they won’t be going back because of similar issues!! Dale and his son are certainly nasty people and we will never support them again!"

"Our stay at The Ark Stanley was a fantastic experience. We spent three nights in the Anderson room. A well appointed room with lovely decor. The room was very clean and had a very comfortable bed. Our hosts Rhonda and Christer were wonderful. Cooking us a delicious breakfast each morning they are very friendly."

"Do not stay here. We paid over $200 for nights for a dirty cabin with furniture from the '70's that smelt. Beetle infestation & cob webs. When the hot water system broke & we had no alternative they told us they couldn't pull the broken part out of their **** then walked away. When we complained we needed to shower they said to go somewhere else at 9.30pm. This was all done in a angry heightened tone infront of our child."

"Fantastic three night stay at The Ark. Good idea to book directly with the property owners, best value stay 3, pay 2 nights and well worth it. Both Rhonda and Chris were friendly, helpful hosts who provided the BEST breakfasts, fresh and home made, each morning's breakfast seemed to have different stewed fruit and wonderful yoghurt along with fresh bread and jams, and also delicious eggs,bacon, mushrooms etc etc. The Admiral Suite was of very high quality, it was very clean, spacious and comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you R&C. We have already recommended the property to our friends for a relaxing stay. Dinners were at three local restaurants and the local pub is definitely the best meal."
