"Beautiful location, disappointing stay The location of this guesthouse is excellent, right in the center of Dehang Miao Village, with a lovely view of the river that runs through the village. The village itself is very charming and picturesque, and the setting could not be better. Unfortunately, our experience with the accommodation was not as positive. Compared with other places where we stayed during our trip in China, the room was not particularly clean. There were hairs on the bathroom floor and dead insects, which may have entered through the window after cleaning, but they were still there when we arrived. Our room was on the top floor, where renovation work was apparently still ongoing. Water was dripping from the ceiling directly above one of the beds. The owners had placed adhesive tape around the ceiling light where the water was leaking, which looked quite unsafe and raised concerns about a possible electrical short circuit. The larger double bed had an extremely hard mattress, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. The air conditioning unit was positioned so that the airflow blew directly onto the bed. However, turning it off was not really an option because the room quickly became hot and humid. The owner was kind enough to pick us up and drive us back to the village entrance with his car, which we appreciated. We had also asked about breakfast for the following morning. We were initially told to wait until the next day because the owner’s wife was not available. The following morning she kindly offered to prepare breakfast for us, but unfortunately we had already planned to leave early. Communication was difficult because the only way to contact the property was by telephone. As we do not speak Chinese, we had to ask the receptionist at our previous hotel to call on our behalf. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of information provided about the village. Nobody explained what there was to see or do, nor did they provide any information about Miao culture, local traditions, or typical dishes. We discovered by chance that there was an afternoon performance taking place in the village, and we found the trail to the waterfall only after searching online ourselves. Despite the positive reviews, our stay did not meet expectations, and we would not choose this property again. On a positive note, we had an excellent meal at the restaurant in the main square, the one with the hanging corn cobs and fans outside. The two ladies working there were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food was among the best we had during our visit."

"The location is super easy to find and very convenient. The transportation downstairs is also excellent, with subway, buses, and shared e-bikes readily available. The service is great too; the front desk staff were very friendly and easy to communicate with, which was a pleasant experience. The hotel room was neat and clean, really nice. They even gave me a free drink when I checked out, which was a fantastic touch! The hotel facilities are also excellent, and many things seem quite new. ❤️"

"If you're visiting Qianzhou Ancient Town, this hotel is an absolute gem! I stayed here for one night and couldn't have picked a better spot. It locates by the river! It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the main ancient town attractions. Within 2–5 minutes on foot, you’ll reach two very unique river-crossing bridges that full of local charm and character. Very nice spot to take picture right at the doorstep of hotel. The room overlooks the river, scenic bridges, and Qianzhou Ancient Town directly across. The views are gorgeous during the day and even better at night when everything lights up! The hotel features a stylish blend of modern aesthetic and traditional Chinese design. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly. Their hospitality is outstanding! The front desk was so helpful, one call upon arrival and they came right to our drop-off point to assist with our luggage. The owner is super friendly and welcoming! Some of great restaurants, cafes, teahouses, and bars right around the corner. Definitely giving this place 5/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! Will 100% stay here again next time!"

"I really want to praise this homestay! Traveling so many times, I rarely encounter such a caring store. We booked the room in advance. When we checked in, the boss took into account the actual situation and gave us a free room upgrade. There was no extra charge. It was a surprise, and the front desk service was super good. The hotel is next to Jishou University. The location is excellent. You can walk to the school gate soon. If you are coming to take the exam and visit relatives and friends at school, living here saves the trouble of taking a taxi back and forth. The newly renovated room facilities are brand new, and the room after the upgrade is more open. The whole house is cleaned very carefully, and the bathroom is dry and tidy. The environment is quiet and quiet, even if it is close to the school, the house is still not disturbed by the outside world, and the rest quality is very good. The overall living feeling is comfortable and the price is very high. Not the same hotel, more as home. If you want to come to Jishou, it is strongly recommended to consider this one. If you are lucky, you can also encounter an upside room. The experience of staying in is directly extra points!"
