Hotels in Taihu Yuantouzhu/Liyuan Scenic Area, Wuxi

My friend and I came to Wuxi and chose the Junlai Hubin Hotel. The location is excellent, right next to Liyuan Garden, so you can walk there easily. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a room on the 9th floor, which offered great views. The overall service was good too. The bedding was a bit soft for my taste, but I personally found it acceptable. There were several pleasant surprises during our stay: They gave us Ferris wheel tickets, so we specifically chose to go at sunset. Watching the sun slowly set and the city lights come on was a wonderful experience. It was also the first time my best friend and I had ridden a Ferris wheel together, so it was quite memorable. We also received tickets for a double-decker Capybara-themed bus tour. The bus drove around Taihu Lake, and the scenery along the way was beautiful – a very interesting experience. I especially want to praise the hotel's travel photography service! The photographer was incredibly professional and great at guiding us. We were just wearing our casual clothes, but he was excellent at finding angles and using light to get fantastic shots. The editing was also very natural, making us look so good we almost forgot it was us – both authentic and natural, beautiful and slim. We felt like we could look so good in photos! Highly recommend! Another unexpected surprise was the robot show! There were robots in the hotel dancing to music, performing different routines according to the rhythm of various songs. Their movements were perfectly in sync, which was really impressive. We stood watching for a long time, surrounded by many children and even some foreigners. The atmosphere was fantastic and very entertaining. However, the hotel restaurant was a bit disappointing. The prices weren't cheap, but the food came out incredibly fast, making us wonder if it was pre-made. The taro puree with sugar was extremely sweet, almost sickly sweet, and the xiaolongbao skins were also too sweet – even for us from the Wu dialect region, who are accustomed to sweet flavors. I'd say it barely passed; I wouldn't recommend eating a full meal at the hotel. Overall, the hotel's location, service, complimentary perks, and travel photography were all huge pluses, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway. My advice for dining would be to find local restaurants with good reputations outside the hotel for a much better experience.

The location is good, only 1.8 kilometers from Lihu Light, and next to MixC shopping mall. The front desk service is very friendly and responsible. The lobby is very spacious, and overall it's worth the price. The only drawback is the poor soundproofing; noises from the next room, such as shouts, door closing, and washing noises, are quite clear, which is annoying.

The hotel is conveniently located next to Vientiane City Shopping Mall, making dining and shopping very easy. It's also less than 10 kilometers from popular attractions like Lihu Lake, Yuantouzhu Park, Nanchan Temple Ancient Street, and Huishan Ancient Town. The room was spacious, clean, and bright, and the service was attentive and friendly. Free parking was a big plus. The breakfast spread was excellent, and I'd especially like to thank the breakfast restaurant manager (a lady) for thoughtfully providing slippers for my child. That was a really sweet touch!

My family and I have a wonderful stay and received excellent hospitality during our recent stay at the Grand Kingtown Hotel. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The view was absolutely great and made the entire experience even more enjoyable and relaxing. I would also like to especially thank your staff (in particular菜菜）for the superb service and warm hospitality throughout our stay. Her attentiveness and professionalism truly made a difference and made me feel very welcomed. I truly appreciate the excellent service and look forward to staying with you again in the future.

No hotel is perfect, but some definitely have standout features. Taihu Hotel, I highly recommend it! Even though it's called Taihu Hotel, it's not directly on Lake Taihu. Only some of the lake-view rooms actually offer a glimpse of the lake, and there are no public areas with lake views either. So, if you're staying at Taihu Hotel and your budget allows, I'd suggest a lake-view room, especially one with a balcony. In spring or autumn, sitting on the balcony, you can see Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Isle) – that green shoreline across the lake. The balcony faces directly onto Yuantouzhu's ferry terminal, offering beautiful and delightful scenery. I had initially planned to find a lakeside cafe to relax, but this balcony was just too good to leave. The room came with a capsule coffee machine, so I brewed a cup and sat on the balcony. A gentle breeze was blowing, a few swallows circled overhead (I assume their nests are on the hotel roof), and the lush greenery enveloped me in the fresh scent of plants. The view was expansive, with boats coming and going on distant Lake Taihu, yet it felt incredibly tranquil. I didn't catch the sunrise or sunset, but I did witness the moonrise. I'd never seen the moon rise before; usually, when I look up, the moon is already high in the sky. There's a small hill directly opposite my room, and to my surprise, I saw the moon slowly ascending. It happened to be the 15th day of the ***** calendar, and the night sky was deep blue and cloudless. Unfortunately, my photography skills aren't great, so I couldn't capture it, and my literary abilities aren't good enough to describe it in words. All I can say is, it was incredibly beautiful. I'm not sure if this is visible every season, or if the moon might rise from a different spot sometimes. My knowledge of astronomy and geography isn't the best, but I imagine the moon doesn't always appear from the exact same location. The greenery between the hotel and Lake Taihu isn't all part of the hotel property, and you can't walk through it as there are fences marking off third-party property. The hotel's back garden is quite large; it takes a good half-hour to wander through every corner. In the evenings, they show open-air movies on the lawn. It's not too cold or hot right now, and the mosquitoes haven't started working yet, so it's quite comfortable. However, I'm not sure if this happens on non-holidays. Around May Day, they even had fireworks in the evenings. Fireworks aren't normally available on weekdays, and I'm not sure about weekends. This is a resort-style hotel. The hotel's facilities are pretty good. I was initially worried about it being outdated since it was renovated in 2016, but it didn't feel old at all, and the decor was quite nice. The parking lot is huge, with both an underground garage and outdoor parking spaces. There's a gym, ping-pong, tennis courts, and a pool. There's also an AI trail, which is a 1km loop around the back garden. They have small three-wheeled scooters, but I'm not sure if they're free or require a QR code payment to use. The staff are all very friendly and provide good service. There are a few areas for improvement. The gym has a sort of cable machine, which is great, but the accessory options are a bit limited. Also, the hotel's signage is a bit unclear. The underground garage is actually on the hotel's 1st floor, but there are no signs indicating how to get from the garage to the public areas on the 1st floor. When exiting the garage to check in, the elevator sign says the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and reception is on the 5th floor. Taihu Hotel's layout is a bit different from other hotels, so I was slightly confused and went to the 3rd floor looking for the lobby, but check-in is actually on the 5th floor. Perhaps it would be helpful to add a note like ”Reception (Check-in)” next to ”Reception” on the signs.

My stay at Atour truly exceeded expectations! The room facilities were incredibly thoughtful – smart toilet, high-definition projector, and super soft mattress and pillows; lying down instantly melted away my fatigue. Even the desk and chair were comfortable. The breakfast selection was incredibly rich, offering everything from freshly ground coffee and squeezed juices to hot congee, pastries, and salads. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was fantastic, plus there were local specialty snacks. I felt energized all day after eating! The environment was simply beyond words. The lobby was quiet and elegant with a very soothing fragrance. The hallways and rooms were sparkling clean, with every detail meticulously cared for. The staff member, Hongdou, was also exceptionally gentle and attentive, always happy to help with any request. My stay was so comfortable! I'll definitely choose Atour again next time.

The overall experience of this hotel exceeded expectations, the hardware facilities were complete and brand new, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff is warm and caring, responds promptly, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. The hotel is quiet and elegant, and it is very clean. The location is particularly excellent, you can go directly to major popular attractions when you go out, saving a lot of troubles of commuting, travel and play is particularly worry-free, cost-effective, and you will choose to stay next time.

An absolutely fantastic stay! Atour, as always, delivers consistent quality. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was warm and attentive. The location next to MixC is super convenient for getting around and dining. Both rooms we booked were excellent. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Wuxi. Highly recommend!

I read a lot of reviews before booking, so my expectations were quite low. But I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived! The hotel is a bit old, that's a fact, but thankfully, it was very clean. The location is absolutely amazing, right next to Cherry Blossom Valley. During cherry blossom season, having a shuttle to get into the park was a huge advantage compared to regular tourists who have to buy tickets and wait in line. The hotel service was excellent. They upgraded us to a room with a courtyard. The staff were all very helpful and tried their best to assist with any questions we had. Since we were traveling with a child, they provided extra blankets and disposable bathtub liners. The breakfast on the second day was also very good – the cherry blossom xiaolongbao were delicious, and the Suzhou noodles were great too. We could enjoy views of Cherry Blossom Valley while dining, and the 'King Cherry Tree' was right in our courtyard. The hotel lobby had complimentary tea and a coffee machine, which was a huge plus for coffee lovers. They even gave us some creative cultural ice cream, which made my child super happy!

Traveling with kids during spring break, this Holiday Inn Express was perfectly located. It's not far from the attractions, and right next to MixC shopping mall and the subway station, making getting around super convenient. Before check-in, the front desk upgraded us to a family room, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room was huge, with two separate bedrooms, each with a large bed, offering great privacy. Excellent value for money!
