“Firmament in Flux” explores the invisible energy, the path of “Chi” energy, and the philosophy of emptiness and existence by artist Gi-ok Jeon (Gi-ok Jeon) The artist uses art as a medium to explore the invisible energy, especially the concept of “Qi” or life force that permeates all things and all time. Inspired by ancient Eastern philosophy, combined with contemporary ideas and modern science, the artist has created an artistic space that connects the physical and immaterial worlds through the use of ink paintings, video art, and installations. One of the highlight pieces is a sculpture of a human-shaped telephone wire, which serves as a metaphor for the energy networks that connect us in our daily lives, both physically and spiritually. These lines are not just structures, but “energy paths” that run through silence. The heart of this exhibition is to question the nature of “emptiness,” which in Eastern philosophy does not mean nothingness, but rather a space where subtle energy is always moving.
