Selina Brisbane is conveniently located in the heart of Brisbane. The kitchen, though small and lacking enough food baskets, is consistently clean and offers ample space for cooking. The beds are comfortable and come with curtains for privacy. My room didn't have windows, which I typically prefer, but the ventilation was adequate. They have a little space to read books which I loved. The bathrooms were consistently clean. Overall, it's a great hostel for socializing, too.

It's getting incredibly expensive to stay in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Budget options are severely limited, and inevitably you will have to make sacrifices. But if you're looking for decent accomodation that won't break the bank, this property has a lot going for it. It's definitely an older type building, and doesn't attempt to compete with the glittering modern skyscrapers constantly springing up along this coastal *****, but its location is unbeatable. Right across the road from the beach, and barely 5 minutes walk to the hustle and bustle of Cavill Avenue, yet once you're inside the apar**ent, you never feel like you're in the thick if it, and there's virtually no noise disturbance, so the best of both worlds really. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff friendly, and parking is free - another bonus that is rapidly dying out! There is also a nice pool, sauna/steam facilities, games room and small gym. And so to those compromises - There's no in-room laundry facilities, no dishwasher, and I think this is the only hotel room I've ever seen anywhere in Australia without aircon. (ceiling fans only) More of an observation than a criticism, but we only stayed for one night so it didn't really affect us. It could have been potentially problematic for a longer stay, especially in hot weather, so worth thinking about. Overall, I found Chateau Beachside excellent value and a pleasant place to stay for a short-medium visit. If you are realistic about what you can expect at this price point, you will definitely not be disappointed.

Booked a standard room with two double beds as a room for our family of 3 (2 adults and a teen), to sleep at after an event on the Gold Coast. Whilst not their issue our navigation app couldn't locate the property and when I called, I was told to use google maps. Reception was polite and on check in provided a physical room key and an electronic tag, and directions for parking. Our room was 1010, which is on the ground floor. A corridor left of the main foyer winds around, going outside and having a more motel vibe, outdoor corridors were tiled and wet and slippery. Struggled to open the door to our room with the key, unpacked and left for our function The room was very basic as expected, with shower, bath, toilet, kitchenette and tv. A sliding door to access a shared grass courtyard by the pool. We did not use any of the room or hotel facilities, beyond the bed and bathroom. After attending our event, we retuned around 9.30pm, and could not open the room door. Bar staff directed us to Mae, she was considerate, she and my husband could not get the lock to open. We ended up accessing the room via the sliding door at the rear, the screen door was unlocked (which was on us, as we opened the glass door to air the room out - it smelled stale - and assumed the screen was locked), Mae was apologetic i am thankful we returned early enough that staff were still on-site. Beds were ok, corridor was noisy especially luggage carts being wheeler through. Was fit for purpose, but the lock/security was concerning. It appeared the lock had been replaced by a handyman vs a locksmith. I wouldn't return

There are cockroaches in the room in slept. Those big flying cockroaches and small one. Guess in the middle of your sleep at 2:30am you feel a moving insect on your face, as you switch on the light to check what it could, there comes a big cockroach on your sheets. It petrified me and couldn’t sleep from that moment. Kindly work on it

I wish I had of read these reviews prior to booking a room. I wanted something close to the airport and at last minute this was all that was left. I don't consider $148 a cheap room for 1 night, a shared backpackers room would of been cleaner. I got a text after booking and paying asking me to enter more details again including credit card, it said to upload a photo, didn't say upload your licence so therefor never sent the room code, when I rang I got a lady I could not understand who explained I didn't need to worry because I could do it at reception, when we arrived at reception the lady told me I MUST DO IT OR I CAN'T STAY!! 1hr later and 2 others in reception having the same issues we were given a room code, the room smelt like a dead wet dog, we were on ground level the curtain was see through and didn't block any of the elements out, the shower was that small you could only fit in one leg at a time.... prior to arriving I asked if they had a laundry on site I was told yes to only be told once checked in the washing machine is broken.. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

Location of the hotel is near the Domestic Airport. There’s complimentary shuttle bus service to and from the International Airport. It was very convenient for us since we arrived Brisbane after midnight, when it’s impossible to go into the city as Airtrain has already stopped service by then.

I left another local hostel after one night as it was just too noisy - I wanted a place for a good rest so that I could really enjoy all the amazing day trips nearby. This place did just that! I booked a single occupancy room (shared bathroom) on the day and stayed for 4 nights - great value for money and really did the job - I had a perfect rest here. Other guests were of all ages and were friendly. The hostel was very quiet at night and put on some optional entertainment (I chose not to partake and it didn’t disturb me at all). The pool area is small but great! Big kitchen area to cook in and store food. The staff were great at helping me book day trips and the location is fantastic for these (I did the Great Barrier Reef, karunda skyrail and daintree trip from here and the location was perfect). I would definitely stay again!

Breakfast included, was only a small pack but that was sufficient. Few shops, cafes, restaurants nearby. Ample carparking. Wifi worked well. TV in room. Overall good place and highly recommended

I booked a private room to recover because I stayed in a very noisy 々 good buffer １ weeks until the day before my stay (laughs) I don't have a single for four consecutive nights, and the first two nights are twin singles It was like 50 〜 60 Australian dollars per night in Su, and 40 Australian dollars per night from the third night? Still, it is broken compared to the surrounding hotels. (Australia is really expensive and hard to stay) Also, it is good to move because it is difficult to move at check-in, so if you ask if you can't do it in the same room during your stay, you already have a reservation I was told I couldn't. Still, the staff was good. Except for the owner, the staff were all friendly and nice backpackers (laughs). The facility itself was old, well maintained, and there were several public spaces, and the privacy was moderately protected and cozy. Dark room, dining room, bright room with billiard table, spacious garden where smoking and BBQ can be done, garden with pool, and other garden with bench ５ places? There was. Unlike the buffer in the city, it was such a buffer that I wanted to stay again in a calm atmosphere. There are no restaurants and supermarkets around, but it is close to the airport, so it is good for the night before the flight or the rest after entering the field. I will definitely stay again soon.

I recently stayed at the Soho Hotel Brisbane from January 3rd to January 4th, 2024, and I must say it was a fantastic experience! The check-in process went smoothly; the staff was very welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel's central location made it easy for me to explore the city. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the room amenities. Overall, it was a delightful stay at the Soho Hotel Brisbane.

Excellent shower pressure. Plenty of parking. Didn’t have any power to the room so had to request it (apparently it frequently trips). Nowhere to put luggage. Common areas were very grubby. Very convenient to airport and airport parking companies.

The staff as always were pleasant and courteous. The meals were yummy. This time we both had lamb shanks. Disappointed that the bed base made cracking noises and the lounge chair had a tear.

Close to the airport, easy to find. Had no trouble with train noises once asleep. Room was clean as well as the bathroom. On the negative and really not that big a deal is that the undercover parking is limited and spaces not very big. Also Watch the bottom step in the dark. Miss stepped going down at 4.30am as I didn't see the bottom step and landed on my knees. Could do with a bit more lighting at the bottom of the stair.

Do not stay here, bedbugs!!!! On our second night of staying here we discovered a bed bug infestation, forcing us to leave the hotel and all our clothes behind. When we first alerted the hotel the next day they continuously berated us for not going to them straight away despite it being 1am when we first discovered the bugs and not seeing any hotel staff at reception when we tried to find them. The manager, Matt tried to say they have their hours on the check in sheet they provided however it doesnt not say anywhere on this that its open till 4am. The main problem of the bed bugs was trying to be shifted onto us for not alerting them in the middle of the night. The hotel staff further attempted to shift blame onto us, accusing us of bringing the bed bugs in despite the whole ecosystem of bed bugs, babies larve and dead ones under the bed that have clearly been there well before our one night stay. The hotel reluctantly gave us a refund for our stay after we requested it, however they refused any reimbursement for the significant expenses we incurred in dry cleaning and replacing our belongings. This experience has cost us hundreds of dollars in new clothes, additional hotel expenses, and cleaning services. We understand that bedbugs can be an issue in hotels, the disappointment lies in the inadequate response and understanding demonstrated by the hotel staff when addressing the matter. It's essential for establishments to handle such situations with empathy and professionalism, aspects that were obviously lacking in our experience. Save yourself the trouble and money - steer clear of this place

Is a disgusting hotel I never leave reviews for hotels but I felt as if I had to. There is no good in this hotel our room Was beyond dated furniture paying over $100 a night you expect a clean room This room Was far from it . Exposed nails on the floor. Dirty carpet and bed. Mould in kettle and fridge This place needs to be closed down and re done. Also I think it’s totally ridiculous that they think 2 towels for two people staying for 5 days is enough. I had to pay $3 extra for more towels . Do not stay here! This hotel almost ruined our holiday. Also we did complain about the room and got given another room Which wasn’t much better again mould in fridge and kettle Bathroom fan not working. Toliet didn’t flush properly And we both came home with bed bug bites

On the 14.3.23 at 1.25 pm my adult son and I visited the Hinterland Hotel for lunch as it was a busy day for us, we approached the counter and the mature aged blond was serving a patron first and we kindly waited, whilst the woman was pouring the beers she asked what did I want, I asked, ”Is this where we order lunch?” she replied, ”No, use the paddy app on the tables.” I said, ” I have a government phone that does not accept these apps.” She then replied, ”Use his!”. I nicely said ” My son has a vintage Nokia and that wont work.” The woman said abruptly, ”It works on all phones!” ”Can you please give me a paper menu,” I asked, ”NO PAPER MENU'S” was the stern reply... The other patron looked at us in disbelief. We felt discriminated against and we left as though we were won't welcome there. I have lived at Springbrook Mountain since 1977 and will never go back to this establishment ever again. P.S. Do you need an App to play the Poker machines out the back?

The WORST hostel I've ever stayed in. If you read positive comments they must be fake 100%! I spoke with other people during my road trip up to the east coast and everyone told me the same: this hostel is a nightmare, dirty, full of cockroaches and people that enter and go whenever they want in the room even if they are not from that room. The hostel itself is disgustingly dirty. Flies and pigeons in the kitchen, the entire room was dirty including cockroaches, sand, hairs and you can tell that people live there because every single space of the room is taken by their bags scattered around/clothes etc. Bed sheets were disgustingly dirty/full of sand, bathrooms don't look like they've ever been cleaned. I chose a 10 female dorm and at some point a girl that was surely living there brought one of the guy of the hostel in the room and they started to have s** with no problems and without caring of the other people in there and PLUS in the morning I went to the toilet (inside the room) and the guy opened the door… luckily I was already dressed, but this shouldn’t happen. And then he just ran away and went to hide in the in the girl bed as if I didn’t see him… Would definitely NOT recommend to stay there.

Good location motel for families, in front of Gold Coast Highway that close to the bus stop to go to airport or to the boardbeach south, where we can easily hop in to the trem / bus to central (surfer paradise, carvill / cypress ave) or Movie World. The motel have swimming pool and big bed with complete facilities for families (netflix, iron, toaster, microwave, refrigerator, utensils) and also has a 70 model bathroom in very clean condition. Besides hotels they have 24 night owl supermarket and many restourante (italia, japanese, ice cream etc) with 5 mins walk distance to Mermaid beach at the end of the road.

My experience was really good. You can meet  new people easy on the rooftop.  Maybe the hostel can add oil in the kitchen because I think a lot of traveller don't have oil with them for a travel duration of 3-4 days.  but all in all good:)

Perfect quiet spot to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise - only a few kilometers away - apartment living in a 2 bedroom clean and spacious unit with pool, kitchen, living and Finn g and large wrap around balcony - all facing the Broadwater/Spit overlooking Seaworld, right across the bay - underground security parking- not far from shops, harbourtown, petrol and Coles & McDonalds

We chose this hotel because it was one of the most inexpensive hotels near the reef terminal and close to other attractions in Cairns. It was a 30 minute walk to the Reef Terminal and 40 minutes to the Botanical Garden. It also has a good selection of restaurants nearby and is a short walk to Rusty's Market and quite a few shops. The area is very quiet and the bed was comfy enough. The room has a good wall unit which we stored all of our bags in and kept our stuff accessible with some shelves. There is a limited number of plug-ins in the room with two on the desk under the TV and a power bar was underneath the bed. A travel power adapter was used to keep our devices charged. The wifi was weak when we stayed and we felt the shower curtain and lip didn't do a great job keeping the water contained because the floor and bath mat got soaked each time we showered - you could aim the shower head at the wall and angle your body just so but it was tricky to have a good shower here. We did appreciate all the toiletries available in the wall mounted units including hand wash, shaving cream, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The towels were also very soft but never dried out so we had to ask to have them changed on our second day here because the bathroom smelled very damp due to the wetness. The front desk staff were very kind but they did not have it manned after hours so there are late night check in instructions provided. They also can help arrange and book tours while you are in Cairns. The hotel offered a complimentary breakfast which included bread, a toaster, a pancake machine, cereals, juices, coffee, milk and water. The highlight of the breakfast was the pancake machine and the giant jar of Nutella with a pump attached. You could order a hot breakfast for a little bit more and it was fairly priced for things like sausage, bacon and eggs. The hotel also has a bar area (open 3-7), heat and eat meals, a vending machine, pool and laundry facilities. There is a microwave available in the bar area and kettles are available in the rooms for hot water. The laundry machines are commercial and quick - it cost 4 AUD to wash and the same price to dry and our laundry was done within 1 hour and 10 minutes. The laundry room also has an iron and ironing board. The hotel had a good amount of parking and it is about a 10 minute drive from the airport. We felt everything was very convenient during our stay and would recommend it if you are planning to save on a hotel and spend on excursions!

Good points: Room was spacious and clean. Aircon and wifi worked fine. Was in a good location. Quiet, dark, comfy bed. Good value for money. Could be improved: Communal areas really dirty. Lift didn’t work the whole time we were there. No one on check in (apparently they text us with instructions but we didn’t get a text)

This Motel was disgusting.It just smelt of cigarette smoke and a bottle of bleach.But the room was still dirty.The door did not lock properly.The shower had dirty shoe marks in it the fridge did not work and my food was spoiled.The bed was like a brick so uncomfortable and I only sat on it.I rang to get help with the fridge and they were not helpful at all.I had to move and spend more money on a motel.And still 2 wks later the manager won’t return my phone calls or emails will not refund my money.Highly recommend you never stay at this motel is absolutely disgusting.The fridge had mould in it.

The man in the high vis showed us around, he was lovely and really helpful. Good price, good location. Only thing was that the shower curtain was mouldy

Omg staying at this hostel was equally parts traumatic and entertaining. The best way to describe it is imagine if a problematic 60 year old man opened a hostel with a nightclub underneath, and all the social activities were designed with other problematic 60 year old men in mind. They don't seem to do any sort of gender balancing in the mixed dorm, one girl checked into my room in the middle of the night, because she was put in a mixed dorms with only men over 50. The social activities are old fashioned but not in a good way, I'm talking wet t shirt contests, pole dancing competitions, jelly wrestling. But honestly this hostel gave most of the girls staying here the ick so we ended up having movie nights on the girls floor, going to the market and Esplanade together and to the free gym. I actually had a good time, ironically. The facilities at this hostel are really good to be fair, the dorms were clean, they all had air conditioning and balconies (unfortunately you are not able to control the temperature of the air conditioning or turn it off when it is cold outside), they had large well equipped kitchens, a pool and a free gym. Even the nightclub was a good venue, but the social activities are like something out of the Wolf Of Wall Street. If they are going to be a sleazy venue they could at least hire Magic Mike dancers. But honestly they just need to get a new entertainment manager and this place would be fine. Location is alright, about a twenty minute walk to the Esplanade.

It is very rare to have a hotel of this price during the Spring Festival, so if this hotel can meet the basic needs of rest, in addition to additional facilities, it is really good value for money! First of all, the location of the hotel is a certain distance from the city center. It is a half-hour walk, but there is nothing to visit in the city, it is nothing more than a supermarket to buy things. Secondly, the hotel's facilities are complete, basic things are available, and you can rest well at night. There is also a kitchenette in the room where you can cook your own meals, which is really a bonus. Finally, because it is a motel, the service is basically absent, but the front desk staff are very enthusiastic, so there will be no uncomfortable feeling.

This hotel was well located in terms of proximity to the main tourist areas, but we had difficulties using public transport. The rooms were very clean and the shared bathrooms were very clean. The environment was very well kept and wonderful, we would definitely repeat for the price.

It’s not bad. The room is big and has a small swimming pool. It’s suitable for us, two adults and one child, with a big bed and a small bed. The price is right and it’s cheaper now. It used to be more than 900, but now it’s 670, which is better than a B&B. Cheap and very good. The front desk doesn't close very early, so you can check in later. The hotel is not far from the night market, but it's still more convenient to drive. Parking in Cairns is free on Sundays, so if you plan to go out to sea on Sunday, it's best to leave it at the pier. Everything is free, and you can drive to every place. The hotel lobby is on the M floor, and the second-floor platform where the car is parked is on the 1st floor. There is an elevator to enter the hotel.

Once I got used to it (it took me a day or so), I liked the place! The manager, Mike, was laid-back, friendly and always very helpful. We arrived on a dark, rainy day and night (normal for the time of year in Cairns) and my first impressions of the accommodation were a bit gloomy: breeze-block walls (thankfully painted white), *****-lighting, a bit of a stale/damp aroma and sofa with black-tape repairs. However, for most of our stay we had sunny (and mostly dry) weather and it felt much better in the apartment and the breeze-block walls protected us from most of the neighbourhood noise. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. The cooker worked well - we didn't mind using matches to light the hobs. Good, clean toilet / shower room. The shower was powerful enough with water staying consistent at the chosen temperature. Very good value.
