Neos Omalos Hotel

I knew as soon as I heard goats with their little bells on that I’d like this place. Quiet, quaint, country accomodation on the way to Samaria Gorge. The family who run it were all lovely, and mum even made me up a picnic to take on the hike before dad gave us a lift to the starting point. Maybe it’s because it never happens back home, but I ordered a beer downstairs upon arrival, and got given free olives - that made my absolute day and, though previously incorruptible, my loyalty was bought instantly and totally. I also had the rabbit fry up thingo, which tasted great, although the salad itself was even better, though it curse my carnivorous tongue to say it. The bedroom had a great balcony for looking out over the green and rocky hills. Bed was super comfy, and it actually was a little colder way up in the Omalos elevation (in June) which made sleep come very easily for those like me who run hot. Big fluffy blanket in the cupboard though for those of you who like to be warmer. The bathroom is a bit small and being on the tall end of the height spectrum I had to be wary not to knock myself out on the hand basin when using the toilet. But if you’re under 6 foot you’ll patting your genetics on their small back. The building is relatively old so expect to hear some footfalls as other guests go past your room, but other than that, blissfully quiet overnight. The daughter of the family speaks really good English which helped a couple times, when regretfully I seemed to have forgotten all my Greek (which I rudely hadn’t learned prior to arriving). I can’t recommend this homely hotel enough, so if you’re on your way to hike the gorge, park your car here and stay the night. Then stay in Agia Romelli at the very end of the hike. Then come back to Omalos the next day and get some home style cooking back into your weary body. Or whatever floats your ferry.
Pasiphae Heraklion Hotel

This hotel is well located between the airport and the city center and a bus stop to both nearby. I walked to the airport and it took me half an hour, a lot of restaurants are within walking distance too. The city center would be closer than the airport. The reception lady was friendly and correct, the rooms and bathroom are a little older but still in good state and good working airco. I did found long female hair on my bed, which shouldn't be there but everything was good and the bathroom was very clean!. Since you are near the airport you do hear an airplane flying over from time to time. Its worth the price for a short stay close to the airport.

This hotel has a great location, very nice room, and a huge bed. The price is not cheap or super expensive but rather somewhere in between. The thing I didn't like was that the reception was physically far away from the actual hotel rather than downstairs like most hotels. The hotel reception is a group that represents multiple hotels in the area so getting in contact with them to express any concern can be a bit frustrating. The bathroom is very clean, new, and the room is also big. The internet connection is also great.
El Greco Hotel

The breakfast variety is very rich and the location is very good on the top floor. The room was very good, there was hair on the pillow, but it didn't matter if I was thrown in the cabinet. As other guests comment, the block downstairs is very unfriendly, I don't know if they will attack people, but at least it looks scary, girls are best not to pass there at night
Cocoon City Hostel

A very comfortable hotel, the most cost-effective hotel in Europe for 20 days, you can choose to have a separate washroom, a public kitchen, the staff is very friendly, there are small supermarkets and large supermarkets around, because there are no nearby attractions in the winter, but So many days in Greece, I feel the most lively atmosphere here.
Mirabello Hotel

I arrived very late at night to a totally unsuitable unmade room The young man on reception immediately sorted out a new room which was clean and comfortable. He provided cold drinking water which was lovely after a long journey and offered any assistance needed. Very central to town and transport. 1 minor point - tea, coffee etc provided but need some sachets of milk. Would stay again and is recommended.

Mega friendly at the reception. Super clean and renewed. Good washing and shower. Very well-functioning air conditioning There could be a snack and a dish there and a large water instead of two mini bottles. Totally very recommended.

Sijainti on mitä parhain ja idyllisessä vanhassa kaupungissa. Huone oli ihana ja siisti, sekä hyvin varusteltu. Aamiainen oli laadukas!
Esperides Hotel

The location is within a 5-minute walk from the beach, and the room price is much cheaper than the beach. The room booked by Ctrip, when I arrived at the hotel, the hotel did not find the order, but I found it later. Fortunately, it is the off-season. If it is the peak season, just in case there is no room. The room price, I have to say, Ctrip's exchange rate is quite good. It is much cheaper than other foreign websites.
