DenisStaying in the Jacuzzi Villa was an absolute delight! The Naxi-style courtyard was elegant and peaceful, and the private, temperature-controlled Jacuzzi was clean and comfortable. Soaking under the stars at night melted away all my travel fatigue. I must commend Elin, our butler, for her outstanding service. From coordinating before our arrival to her attentive care during our stay, she was always quick to respond to any needs. She was thoughtful and professional, never intrusive, which truly enhanced the relaxing vacation vibe. The facilities were excellent, and the service was an added bonus – a perfect Lijiang getaway! Highly recommended!

Guest UserThis hotel is located near the South Gate of the ancient city, offering a quiet retreat while still being conveniently accessible. Stepping into the lobby reveals a hidden gem, with understated yet tasteful design and excellent facilities. We stayed in a room with a balcony this time, which the kids absolutely loved. What's more, the butler service was impeccable from before check-in right through to after check-out – so thoughtful and attentive! Highly recommend!

Guest UserBack in Dali, I decided to revisit the Xianyun 360-degree Cliff Seaview Hot Spring B&B, and it truly lived up to expectations! The front desk staff were incredibly polite and attentive. I later found out that the humble and helpful manager, who was always ready to assist, was also from Beijing, which made me feel right at home. The B&B's environment is serene and immaculate. The private hot spring pool in the room is definitely the highlight. Soaking in the hot spring, you're directly facing the Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake – it's like a landscape painting come to life. During my downtime, I loved sitting on the balcony, gazing at Cangshan and Erhai, which was incredibly therapeutic after a long journey. The restaurant's dishes were delicious and flavorful. My experience was as excellent as ever, truly a hidden gem of a seaview B&B. Choosing to stay here twice speaks volumes about its reliable quality. It’s my top choice when visiting Dali, highly recommended!

ShengbulanqisifulijiaFor my 4-day, 3-night stay in Kunming, I chose the Sheraton, as I've always been a fan of the brand for my travels. The location of the Sheraton Kunming City Center is truly excellent. Right outside the door, you'll find a snack and shopping area, with the old street all around. You don't even need to go to other attractions; you can spend several days just eating, drinking, and exploring the immediate area. 👍
Secondly, the check-in experience was fantastic. From the front desk staff when I first walked in to the cleaning staff and restaurant servers, everyone was warm, polite, and helpful. I didn't encounter a single unenthusiastic person, which is definitely something to praise! 👍
Each floor had plenty of bottled water available for guests to take as needed, which I really appreciated. 👍
On the 8th floor, the breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, with different hot options each day, and everything tasted great! 👍
I've already recommended this hotel to my family and friends! 😄

The location is good, right at the entrance of Gaozhuang, so you can walk there. However, the facilities and service don't live up to a five-star (or diamond) rating. The decor and amenities are quite simple, feeling more like an apartment. The concierge service was great; they actively helped with luggage and were very polite about storing it. But the front desk was just average – expressionless, and looked annoyed when I asked for a bag. Although it's on a high floor, I'd advise light sleepers to reconsider, as there was loud music outside early in the morning, not sure if it was a public square dance or what. Overall, the experience was just okay.

Guest UserWe had a pleasant stay overall, with several things that really stood out.
The room was extremely spacious, with two king-sized beds and plenty of room to move around. It was comfortable and gave us ample space to relax. The dining area also offered gorgeous scenery, making meals much more enjoyable.
The front desk staff were friendly, helpful and responsive. When we discovered some hair caught in the hair trap in the bathroom when we checked in, we reported it to the front desk. They immediately arranged for housekeeping to come and clean it. We were also pleasantly surprised when the front desk later delivered a dessert to our room as a gesture of goodwill. This was a nice example of prompt and thoughtful service recovery. Another small but memorable example of the front desk team's helpfulness happened after midnight. I had an issue with the dryer and needed to open it in the middle of its cycle, but could not figure out how to do so. Although it was already past midnight, the front desk staff patiently helped me troubleshoot the problem and guided me on how to open it. Her assistance quickly resolved the issue, and I really appreciated her willingness to help despite the late hour.
Another lovely touch was the warm milk delivered to our room daily. We also enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea, especially the beautiful dessert designed in the shape of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. These little touches made the stay feel special.
Unfortunately, the restaurant experience at the hotel was a weak point. We went for dinner at around 9pm. After the staff seated us, they disappeared, and despite the restaurant being very large, there were no other wait staff in sight. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I eventually had to go looking for someone and tell him that we wanted to order.
When we asked whether using DianPing or the hotel guest discount would offer better value for a particular meal we wanted to order, the staff member was unable to advise us. We had to work out the best option ourselves. While this may seem like a small matter, I would expect restaurant staff in a hotel to be familiar with the promotions and benefits available to guests and to be able to provide basic guidance.
Things did not improve much after our mushroom hotpot was served. We were essentially left to figure out how to prepare and eat the hotpot ourselves, without any explanation or assistance from the restaurant staff.
Based on our experience, they appeared to lack some basic training in customer service, attentiveness and product knowledge. The issue was not that they were unfriendly; rather, they seemed somewhat clueless and undertrained, which made the dining experience unnecessarily difficult.
Overall, the hotel has many strengths — a wonderfully spacious room, beautiful scenery, friendly front desk staff and thoughtful guest amenities. The service recovery from the front desk was also impressive and showed that the hotel genuinely cares about its guests.
However, the restaurant service needs significant improvement. Better staff training, stronger attentiveness and greater familiarity with the menu and hotel promotions would make a big difference. With those improvements, this could be a much more enjoyable and polished hotel experience.

Guest UserI travel a lot for work, so I've stayed in many hotels. I've been to Kunming countless times, and I stumbled upon this hotel with a really high rating. I honestly thought it might be a fake, so I just booked it to give it a try. To my surprise, it truly exceeded my expectations – definitely lives up to its reputation!
I don't think I need to go into detail about the facilities and services; they're pretty much what you'd expect from a hotel in this price range. However, so many small details were perfectly executed! For example, the little toiletries provided at the sink really won this girl's heart.
I slept in until noon, then went to the restaurant thinking I'd just grab a quick bite. But to my surprise, the selection of dishes hadn't diminished at all, even though it was getting close to the end of the mealtime. I absolutely love Yunnan cuisine; they can turn all sorts of weird and wonderful flowers and plants into delicious dishes. Everything looked so appetizing, and I just ate and watched my show – it felt just like being at home, haha.
It's been ages since I last left a review; I used to be too lazy to write them. Now that I've written this much, I realize I've gone on and on, haha. As I was leaving, I casually mentioned how comfortable the pillows were. The butler said they sell them at the hotel and can even ship them, so I happily bought one to take home.
Knowing I was heading to Dali next, the butler, a sweet-voiced lady, even gave me a lot of travel tips and recommendations as she escorted me to my ride. She was incredibly thoughtful.
Overall, it was a really pleasant surprise! It's a shame I didn't have enough time for a travel photoshoot, missing out on some great photo opportunities. Next time, I'll make sure to get all those lost shots back!!

Guest UserDali Hotel, Take Three: Living in an Underwater World!
Bringing the kids to Dali and fulfilling their dream of an underwater room! 🌊
I’ve put together a super honest guide to our stay! I'll cover prices, floor choices, hidden costs, and food and drink, so first-timers can just copy this plan!
💰 Room Prices & Floor Pitfalls
▪️ Standard Rooms: 400-600 RMB/night
No underwater view, great value for money if you just need a place to stay.
▪️ Underwater View Rooms: 1600-1900 RMB/night
Prices vary by floor, and here’s the key thing to avoid!
❌ Definitely don’t choose the 1st floor!
The floor is too low, the window is quite small, you can only see corals and small bottom-dwelling fish. Photos turn out very ordinary, and the experience is poor.
✅ Go for the 2nd floor first! Best value for money overall!
The price is moderate, the viewing window is super large, and the view is expansive. You’ll get great photos effortlessly. Call the front desk in advance to reserve a room with a good view. We stayed in room 8220, and the view was quite good.
⭕ The 3rd floor is slightly more expensive.
The view isn't significantly different from the 2nd floor. If you're looking for value, just go for the second floor.
⚠️ Charged Activities
The mermaid and golden storm performances, which used to be free, are now all charged! 200 RMB per show.
Other self-funded interactive activities:
▫️ Touching dolphins for a photo: 100 RMB
▫️ Feeding seals: 50 RMB
▫️ Feeding penguins: 100 RMB
✅ Perks Worth Praising
Booking a room includes a complimentary diving experience 🤿. There are no hidden secondary charges, which is really thoughtful!
🍜 Food and Drink
▫️ The mini-bar in the room has a rich variety of snacks and drinks, all free of charge.
▫️ There are very few restaurants around the hotel. If you want a proper meal, you'll need to take a taxi for about 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can order takeout or dine at the hotel.
▫️ The hotel’s own breakfast is of good quality, and the à la carte dishes in the restaurant are also very reasonably priced.
(It’s advisable to order takeout in advance, as delivery times can be quite long.)
Many people think almost 2000 RMB for one night is expensive. But seeing the kids pressed against the window, watching the underwater world with eyes full of surprise and wonder ✨, makes all the expenses feel super worth it! A true fairy-tale experience exclusively for children! 👧🏻

The location is excellent, not far from the center of the old town, and taxis can drop you off right at the entrance. The food is fantastic, especially the breakfast which is incredibly rich. The complimentary afternoon tea is also thoughtfully prepared. On the third floor, there's a self-service area with fruits, drinks, and coffee, and in the evening, they offer 'goodnight' desserts. The service is very attentive; any questions in the chat group are answered promptly. The hotel provides a 'comfort pack,' sunscreen spray, shawls, and umbrellas. We happened to stay during a period of rain and a temperature drop, and these items came in very handy.
The only minor drawback is the soundproofing, which is indeed poor. This is a common issue with old wooden houses. Our sleep quality is generally good, so it didn't really bother us. If we visit Dali Old Town again, An Yu will still be our first choice.
