4-Star Hotels in West Bengal, India

"The hotel is very close to the airport, but definitely not within walking distance. The facilities are decent. My room had a connecting door to another room, which was sealed off. I was initially worried about sound insulation, but after staying one night, I didn't experience any noise. The breakfast, though simple, included meat. The restaurant doubles as a bar in the evening, and having drinks available is a real plus. The service was excellent; they even offered a complimentary late check-out until 3 PM!"

"This apartment offers a fantastic living experience. It has a great, well-proportioned layout with excellent natural light and ventilation throughout the day, so it never feels damp. All the furniture and appliances are fully equipped and in perfect condition, and the place was spotlessly clean – truly ready for immediate move-in. The complex has excellent security, and with supermarkets and the subway right downstairs, it's incredibly convenient for both commuting and daily life. The landlord is very nice, responsive to any issues, and there are no hidden fees. Overall, it's great value for money and highly recommended!"

"The staff forgets sometimes for what they have asked the client to hold on. Happened with me, whereas I was asked to wait during check-in and later the same person asked me why I was waiting."

"It's a very good hotel, with great amenities, and good staff behaviour and great stay. A good hotel to recommend and has a great food."

"Amazing experience from the beginning to the end, perfect location, great historical building, breakfast was good, diverse and clean. Within walking distance to many major sightseeing spots. Room was big, bathroom was clean, functional and with a good typical hotel style environment too. 100% recommend."

"Sumitel Queens Yard Hotel Service is very well and staff members are friendly and helpful"

"Dear Trip.com Team, I recently completed my stay at Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, booked through your platform. While the booking process and stay experience were satisfactory, I would like to highlight a concerning pricing discrepancy. The rate quoted on Trip.com was approximately 40% higher than the price offered directly by the hotel for the same room category and stay dates. This difference is significant, and frankly unexpected, especially considering that I am a Diamond member with your platform. As a valued member, I expect Trip.com to provide competitive or preferential rates, not higher than what the property itself offers. I request a review of this pricing inconsistency and an explanation of how such a large variation occurred. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your response and a resolution that ensures better transparency and fairness in pricing for loyal customers. Kind regards, Ratish Agrawal"

"*Review: One-Night Stay at Kenilworth Hotel, Kolkata* I recently stayed for one night at the Kenilworth Hotel in Kolkata and would rate my overall experience as a 6 out of 10. The hotel has a lot going for it, especially in terms of its location and general ambiance, but there are also a few aspects that could use improvement. To begin with the positives, the hotel is situated in a very convenient and well-connected area. Being close to central Kolkata, it’s easy to access various parts of the city, whether for business or leisure. The immediate surroundings are pleasant and relatively peaceful, which added to the comfort of the stay. The room provided was decent—clean, well-organized, and equipped with the expected amenities for a four-star property. The bed was comfortable, and the room had adequate lighting and storage space. The bathroom was functional and clean, although not particularly luxurious. In terms of comfort and upkeep, the room met my expectations. One feature I particularly appreciated was the hotel’s gym facility. It was clean, well-maintained, and had a decent range of equipment for a quick workout. For a short stay, it was more than sufficient and a welcome amenity for anyone looking to stay active while traveling. However, one significant downside was the dining experience. The biggest letdown was the limited food choices, especially in the set dinner menu. While the staff were polite and the service was timely, the menu lacked variety and felt quite restrictive. For a property of this category, I had expected a broader range of options, including some regional or seasonal specials. The lack of flexibility and limited appeal of the dinner options certainly took away from an otherwise comfortable stay. It might not be a dealbreaker for everyone, but for those who enjoy exploring a hotel’s culinary offerings, this can be a sore point. The check-in and check-out processes were efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and helpful. There was a general air of professionalism throughout the hotel staff, which contributed positively to the experience. In conclusion, Kenilworth Hotel offers a reliable and comfortable stay with the added benefit of a good location and useful amenities like the gym. However, the lackluster food options—especially in the set dinner menu—stand out as an area that needs improvement. With a little more attention to dining and guest preferences, the hotel could elevate its overall appeal. For now, I would consider it a decent option for short stays, especially if dining isn’t your top priority."

"One strange thing to come accross is they don’t allow Outside food !!!! I.e Swiggy - Zomato etc , so it’s clearly that you have to get abused by their food ….if this the policy of this property then kindly have it posted on your listing also - !!!!!!! All your listings across the online platforms should be mentioned as “NO OUTSIDE FOOD” - you cannot keep the customers in the dark and tell them when they come in for check in !!!!!!! Bad !!!"

"Hospitality was excellent. All the staff were very courteous, which is really commendable as now a days hotel staff are usually found to be inefficient."
