4-Star Hotels in Liguria, Italy

Due to an unexpected curtailing of a cruise I needed a hotel close to the airport at a decent price and this one fitted the bill. Check in easy. Room on floor 6 was spacious and clean with 2 single beds. TV channels all Italian. You're in Italy so fair enough. Not much round in terms of eateries on foot that I could see so Deliveroo will be your friend. Breakfast not great but it was in with the price so 🤷 Genoa airport is about 150m away so easily walkable which was my main reason for using. Not really close to Genoa centre so will have limited appeal to tourists although there are lovely mountain views to the rear.

I spent a good week at hotel des anglais,my room was not beautiful lack of equipment no electricity takes my business all the time I stayed in the bags no mirror in the room etc, Not of gardens or equipment in the bathroom but very well staff.Payment parking

It is a very good hotel. The location is perfect, close to everything. It is quite well soundproofed and nicely decorated. Hotel perfectly clean, with enough towels and products. The staff is helpful, welcoming and does everything to make the stay pleasant. Spacious room! Be careful with the parking lot because there is not enough space … we could not park our car at the hotel and places are very difficult to find in this city.

Our stay at the Hotel Continental Genova was very good, but a little unusual in that both my husband and I got sick with bronchial infections. We ended up staying in our room four out of five days! We relied on the hotels room service for our evening meals which came from the adjoining hotel restaurant. We enjoyed their Genovese vegetable soup, it really hit the spot, especially when you’re not feeling well. All of the front desk staff were very kind and helpful. They even contacted our hotel in Turin to have them arrange for a doctor upon our arrival. Which is something I hadn’t even thought of!! As for our hotel room, it was lovely and very spacious. Our room had a pretty mosaic patterned floor and large armoire. Along with one of the largest TVs I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The bathroom was a good size as well with a fabulous walk in shower. My husband and I really appreciated this hotel and their services. We highly recommend the Hotel Continental Genova. A final note, the hotel is conveniently located just a minute walk from the train station.

The hotel is perfectly OK, there was even an airport shuttle. Unfortunately there was no shower gel in the room.

The Hotel is very well located in the center. The rooms are clean and comfortable, of good size, the reception staff are very helpful and the cafeteria staff are also very helpful. They helped us order dinner since we arrived very late and the service was already closed, excellent service, highly recommended!!!!

We recently completed a trip through Europe by train staying in each country in four star hotels. The one hotel that stands out the most from all the rest was the Poet Hotel, La Spezia, Italy, unfortunately not for all the right reasons ! Although out of the seven hotels we stayed , the Poet was the most basic of all, in fact we'd be generous giving it a three star. The room we stayed in was very cramped, no cupboards, no draws, or wardrobe to unpack clothes etc. Just a bed, an open clothes rail, a mirror and tiny small shelf-desk. Although we found it clean this fell far below the standards in all the other hotels we stayed. We went through all the channels on the T.V and the BBC, CNN were not available. For a language commonly used widely around the world, you would have thought there would have been at least one channel in English available. When asking the receptionist which way to the bar, she smiled and said ”the reception desk is the hotel bar ” and that they would get us drinks and we could drink them in the breakfast area, goes to say, we didn't bother. The Hotel's web site clearly shows a bar but we didn't see one and to sit in the breakfast area, no thanks. There is a sign in the hotel saying ”Enjoy the Fun” I'm afraid no fun to be had here. We did contact our travel company and they were very quick to get straight back with a message saying that they had contacted the hotel management and that they were aware of the issues. No one contacted us from the management rest of the three nights we stayed but we decided to not spoil the holiday and tough it out. This hotel was more like an up-market student hostel and clearly if you like living out of your case off the floor this is the place for you. Alan Carlisle

The hotel is in an excellent location, only a few minutes away from the train station. Some of the rooms in the hotel have been renovated, but the room I stayed in was not renovated because it was a budget room. The room is underground. The walls and carpets in the corridor are dark in color and there is insufficient light. It feels a bit gloomy. The furniture in the room is shabby, the carpet is dull and the hair is falling off. I feel uncomfortable. I stayed for two nights and stayed there the next day. Skin allergies appear. Moreover, because it is a ”affordable” (hotel definition) room, it does not provide distilled water or a water boiler, nor does it provide free tea bags or coffee. The most outrageous thing is that there are no water cups, and the plastic cups used for brushing teeth will be taken away the next day! We booked five rooms. I stayed in an ”affordable” room, but the hotel did not indicate in advance that the room I stayed in did not provide the above items, so I just thought that compared with the other four rooms, my room was smaller. That’s all.

A great family friendly hotel! Staff were very helpful and thoughtful - I was travelling on my own to visit family with a small child and they very kindly upgraded me (without me asking as I would just expect the room I paid for). The room was very clean, and the daily service of the room was excellent too. Breakfast did get a bit crowded on a couple of days but they opened another section the following day to cater to the extra numbers. Pool was great, lovely and clean and nice big towels provided. A really great spot for staying close to the city with a small child who can only manage 1/2 day adventures. My daughter and I LOVED this hotel and thought it was great value!

We had a wonderful room with a deck and Mediterranean Sea view. The bed was great, shower great, breakfast great, Aperol Spritz great, etc. It's about a 15-20 min. walk along the Mediterranean Sea passeggiata to Chiavari train station, center of town is about another 5 minutes. Ok, so the train track is in front of the hotel, but try for a room on the back side by the Sea or pool. The place was renovated from pure decay to flourishing hotel. Pictures though out the hotel. Chiavari is a great town. Eat focaccia and pesto every day when in this region (Liguria.)

This hotel lies north of Genoa city. Approximately 15-20 minutes of a boredom drive through the gutters of the city. A nice surprise when you see the hotel coming up uphill. Nice and convenient parking behind the hotel. The staff is very very friendly. Check-in' went quick. Elevators are slow. Wi-Fi is adequate. Room coverage is ok. The room itself is clean, basic+ and small-medium sized. Bed is ok, but I think the matrasses could be replaced. There is a modern and spacious gym in the hotel with great Technogym equipment. The breakfast is good to perfect and the staff serving and maintaining it is the best I had since a long time. I had a wonderful (business) stay at this hotel and will return. The even have electric car chargers, which is a plus!

the location is excellent right across the Milano Brignole Rail station, and there are plenty of eateries and shopping nearby. The room is clean, and drinks and snacks in the fridge are free to guests. This is impressive and well received by both me and my wife. The room is quiet, even though our room is right across the elevator. The elevator is one of the oldest I have seen, and it works perfectly. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. Since I booked this hotel more than a month ago, so the tariff was quite reasonable.

Excellent 4-star hotel located in the ancient port a stone's throw from the historic center in front of the aquarium. I booked a room with a balcony and a view of the port and I was very satisfied both for the cleanliness and for the ample space available, including 4 Lavazza coffee capsules with relative machine, a 1/2 liter bottle of water in the room in addition to the various infusions to use with the kettle. Very friendly and helpful staff, the dining room very well furnished in ship style with ropes and sail inserts but not intrusive. Buffet breakfast with a wide choice and excellent ingredients, cappuccino or coffee made on the spot and served at the table. Even if for one night it is an experience to be repeated

Good service, delicious breakfast, comfortable bedding, clean and tidy bathroom, next to the supermarket, very convenient. But the hotel does not have paper towels, no hot water bottle and coffee facilities

This is a lovely hotel, directly on the sea front. All staff were very friendly, helpful & considerate. Rooms were clean & comfortable & bathroom was easily accessible with a walk in shower. There was a small balcony with table & chairs. Sadly weather wasn’t good enough for us to enjoy it or the views over the sea. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection available & it was regularly replenished. We were on a fixed menu for the evening but there was choice & what we had was tasty & enjoyable. There is a more extensive menu available. They had access to a section of beach (charge involved but this is standard in Italy). If we were in the area again, we would consider using it.

I booked this hotel via *********** for a family stay of 3 nights at the end of October. I made this booking many months in advance. 2 months before the scheduled stay, the hotel asked me via the *********** app to book a different period, several weeks prior to the scheduled period. An absurd request, as if people simply could re-schedule a planned stay by a couple of weeks, just like this. I declined, and my reservation was confirmed. 2 weeks before the scheduled stay, the hotel told me via the *********** app to cancel my reservation. THEY didn’t cancel my reservation, but asked ME instead to cancel it. Reason: The hotel alleged to close the establishment for refurbishment works. Which is most likely a lie, given the fact that they tried to get rid of me weeks before already. They simply needed the room for someone else, maybe someone famous, or someone paying more. It doesn’t matter anyway. Even if it would be true, it would be a joke to cancel on hotel guests who did a valid booking. I was tempted not to accept, but at the end I cancelled, as I didn’t want to stay at a place who treats its customers this way. I had to find a different hotel for me and my family, and at this stage (shortly before the stay) I had to pay double the price I would have paid at Hotel Paradiso. I cannot recommend to book a room at this place. Too risky they won’t hold up the reservation.

It's a very nice place but in no way a ”4-STAR RESORT” for Honeymooners. The pictures are very deceiving, and I swear some of these reviews were unavailable prior to my booking June 2022. $420/night! This is a residence, not a resort. It feels very sterile and cold. Luckily I was able to get out of the rest of our stay after a few somewhat intense conversations with the staff. Luckily one of the receptionists seemed to understand our issue/disappointment/confusion and spoke to the owner about cancelling the rest of our stay. There is really no nightlife or tourist type shops anywhere. The restaurant in the Marina parking lot was actually very good! Breakfast in the morning was very good as well. We went back to Nice.

We made a reservation several month prior our arrival to Sanremo. The selection was done based on the feedbacks on booking and also close location to city center and to the beach line. First impression was good, as the building is old and it was constructed as hotel back in 19th century. The air conditioning unit was not working and we have called 3 times to the reception until the technician came and fixed it. A/C is too noisy. Second issue is with WiFi connection in the room. The londra2 is visible from time to time on all devices that we have including iPads, iPhones and MacBook. londra5 WiFi is visible very rarely. Even when you connected to WiFi the internet doesn’t exist )))) signal is very poor and the connection drops very frequently. No chance to use WiFi at all. When I spoke to receptionist on the bad connection they claim they have internet. My argument that in the room we don’t have signal was not enough, and they claim that in corridor they have. So, I don’t leave in corridor, as I paid for the room. Another trick was with the wine bottle. When I asked for a wine opener the receptionist guided me to the pool bar. The guy on the pool bar told me that he can open a bootle for me for 10 Euro. Which was an absolute shock for me, as the argument was that hotel put a policy for them not to open wines for hotel customer that are not purchased at the hotel. But at the same time they want to charge you 10€ for this🤣🤣🤣. Hotel is old, not renovated and actually only wide rooms and clean territory compensate the mood. Still have a next 5 days in this hotel. Let’s hope that we won’t be surprised with new issues.

This place is a chick: only ground floor rooms with car place closely, located next to the bike track that snodes along the tyre and gives a wonderful shorts (the hotel rents electric bikes), The hotel is very close to the seafront of this micro-burgh, which is reached by a few steps and a few steps. In the same structure a great restaurant that serves a full and well-prepared breakfast with a clean and well-realized room. Prepared and gentle staff. Adequate price quality ratio.

We kind of got a bad feeling from arrival at the Hotel when we were told they don’t provide assistance with luggage, 16 stairs to climb with luggage was not a good start while the two front office staff sat behind the counter offering no assistance or help. This was followed by a issue in regards to beach access, the hotel web site states beach access courtesy of Hotel, be but we were informed they charge 45 EUR a day, the young girl girl working at the reception told us this is alway a problem with guests and the hotel should update its website. In the end we walked across the road to the club to find they only charge 22 EUR a day for two sun beds and an umbrella, it seems the hotel puts a 100% mark up on the price they charge. In the end we walked 300 meters along the beach and found a great beach club charging 14 EUR for two guests and spent our week there with a better beach and great restaurant and bar for lunch. Rooms are good size and bright but the hotel is poorly managed with staff not providing any levels of service. Breakfast is poor and impossible to get coffee. HK vacuuming corridors outside guest rooms late at night, all showing little management of the hotel. There are better options including Hotels with pools that we will book for our next visit to beautiful Sanremo.
