"The property was amazing. You feel like you're in a paradise in the middle of the jungle. The food was great and the service was top notch. Only thing was some people had a bit too much fun at the pool and had accidents that made everyone evacuate the pool for cleaning, but there are other pools and lagoons that you can relax in to make up for it. Make sure you try the fish tacos at the restaurant by the beach and the roof vegan restaurant was also great for breakfast. Also make sure you go to XPLOR.... it's so well made... and we had the most fun there. We regret going to Xelha... you go there in the morning and you're stuck there until 4pm where as XPLOR you can go back an forth freely. We regret not trying the other parks that were a part of the resort."

"In the rainforest, the environment is not bad, but of course there are many mosquitoes... The food is average, it is not surprising, and it is not unpleasant. I think the service is quite average, not very active and will disturb the rest more often, the sound insulation is not good, most of the night Or I was woken up several times in the early morning, and the last thing I liked is to imprison several dolphins in a small swimming pool... In short, it is a very commercial and impersonal hotel"

"This is a group of hotels. There are three or four hotels combined. Some are suitable for families, and some are only open to adults. The hotel is very large and needs to take a sightseeing bus to go back and forth to various places. The facilities can be used with each other, and the activities are very rich. There is a housekeeper downstairs in each building to take care of all the needs of the customers in this building! The service was excellent! After 8:00 every morning, the butler will arrange the whole day's activities schedule, restaurant opening hours and various concerts, and send all the activity time to everyone, which is very considerate! There are plenty of activities every day! There are twenty different restaurants in the hotel group to choose from, all inclusive, very thoughtful! There are also many activities every night, music performances, various parties! Arrangements around the clock! The coastline is also very long, and there are also inland lakes crisscrossing the interior. The scenery is very good! Great for a family vacation!"

"This is the best value in Playa Del Carmen. The best bang for the buck especially if you’re booking on this app. Good food. Steak restaurant is great too. Everything is clean and modern although not the newest hotel. This is our go to hotel. Only complaint is they stopped including the premium tequila (Don Julio) in the all inclusive"

"The hotel is beautifully situated in the heart of Playa del Carmen. The staff is friendly and polite, making you feel welcome. There are several restaurants and a good variety of drinks and food. Unfortunately, the area isn’t safe—my bag was stolen, and we also witnessed a very serious car accident with fatalities. The hotel itself is great, but due to the safety concerns, I wouldn’t return to Cancun/Playa del Carmen."

"The hotel was packed, everyone was incredibly busy, and check-in wasn't possible even by 3 PM. No one was pushing timeshare packages that included spa treatments. The cleanliness was so-so; there was hair in the toilet bowl, and the drains smelled slightly. We waited over two hours for biso (a type of Japanese restaurant) in the evening, and the entire hotel was swarming with mosquitoes. I got bitten 12 times while eating outdoors. All the restaurants, except for the barbecue which was freshly grilled, seemed to be centrally kitchened. The international cuisine all had the same chef's style, and the seafood tasted frozen and wasn't of high quality. The beach was better than expected, and the rooftop pool was excellent, even better than the pool at Impression. I was very satisfied."

"The hotel was incredible and very stylish. The room was absolutely amazing. The ammenities, the services were exceptional. Also the food and drinks were really high level. The staff was very professional. We really enjoyed our honeymoon there. The staff did the best to make it special and unforgettable. The only negative was the huge amount of sargassum at Maroma Beach. The hotel cleaned its beach side every morning and they did a really good job, however the neighbour hotel, Catalonia did not. I felt very sorry for their guests who had to smell all day long the rotten sargassum. "

"Our stay was beautiful, I will not deny that. However it was not without a few letdowns. I am a woman who is all about a pool and was so excited to swim in the absolutely gorgeous pool I saw in all the photos online. I visited the week of Jan 1- Jan 7th and the weather was quite warm about 75 degrees every day. HOWEVER, the pool was absolutely FREEZING to the point where I was shivering being in it. Felt like an ICE BATH :( It was not enjoyable and with this being a secluded/ all inclusive hotel there weren't very much other forms of entertainment during the day except for the pool and the beach (the water was warm at the beach). It was so disappointing. I called the front desk to ask if anything could be done but they stated was no pool heater/temperature adjuster. We paid about 4 grand total for this trip and to be completely honest were only able to enjoy the pool once. My next complaint comes to the beach. We went to the beach which gets pretty bus. There was a day where every single chair was full and two of the hotel cabanas were being taken over by random street vendors - taking away two spots for the guests from the 100% packed beach area. These guys were NOT a part of the hotel and are the vendors who go around trying to sell cigars, etc. I watched the staff pass by them multiple times and say nothing while ACTUAL GUESTS had nowhere to lounge by the beach. That was very disappointing as these guys were laughing loudly, staring at guests, and did not move as people walked by looking for chairs. Other than that I will admit that the food was great, the staff was super nice, the hotel grounds were IMPECCABLE, the rooms were nice, everything else was quite lovely. But for the reasons listed I will not be staying at this all inclusive again, although you can still make the most of it and have a lovely experience overall. I'd recommend a stay if you're not going for the main reason of enjoying the pool and the beach."

"Instalaciones buenas, bien la comida y servicio en restaurantes y limpieza.  2 puntos negativos. 1) Te acosan a la entrada y salida para venderte un tiempo compartido disfrazado con otro nombre, haciendo mencion ellos que es programa vacacional 2) El área de la playa en época de bodas no te permite disfrutar, ya que los fotógrafos se apropian del lugar sin siquiera pedir permiso, situación que se reportó y pues no hace nada el hotel."

"I stayed 4 nights at Royal Tulum Catalonia and as a frequent traveler in my 30s I want to give my opinion so you don’t make the same mistake I made. This is a resort for older couples who just want to lay on the beach and do nothing. The resort is beautiful and the pool and jacuzzi are nice. The staff tries hard to give good service. But the food is absolute trash and the drinks are even worse. You are far from downtown so if you want to go out you will have to take lots of taxis which add up. Also the staff will try to book taxis and excursions for you at a crazy marked up price. It’s best to leave the resort and flag down your own taxi and pay for the excursions when you arrive. Pros: beautiful resort, nice pool, pretty beach Cons: food is horrible, cheap alcohol, have to make reservations for dinner, only allowed 1 hour at the spa, far from downtown requiring lots of taxis, lots of bugs. "
