Welcome to Lazy Arrow Lodge! This cozy, rustic cabin with modern touches is tucked under the magnificent Tahquitz Peak and nestled between mature, towering pine, cedar and oak trees. The views are magical and restorative - to the East you’ll find Tahquitz Peak towering over the cabin and to the West you can watch the sun set behind the mountains as it’s rays peak through the mature trees on our ½ acre lot. Awesome. Listen to the birds chirping, the woodpeckers pecking, the wind rustling through the trees…and sometimes…the silence. This is the perfect spot for you to unwind, recharge, restore, connect, disconnect, think and not think. This classic cabin has been lovingly designed with a tastefully curated mix of mid-century modern, cabin and basecamp chic. From the custom Pendleton couch pillows to the charger for your iPhone...it’s got rustic charm yet has modern touches.Architecturally speaking, as soon as you enter, you’ll feel the cabin’s relaxed and cozy vibe with the all wood interiors, the spacious brick, wood burning fireplace and the high ceilings and windows that look out to greenery throughout it’s 950 square feet. The deck has a 270 degree view, but our favorite view is looking right up to Tahquitz Peak. You can enjoy your morning coffee as you gaze up to it and sip your evening cocktails as you watch it turn from orange to pink while the sun goes down. The cabin is located on a large, ½ acre lot, which is filled with mature pine, oak, cedar and manzanita trees. It’s also fully fenced in so your fur babies will love running up and down the yard and sniffing the land. The cabin is located in northern Idyllwild in the upscale neighborhood of Fern Valley. It's at a higher elevation than the town of Idyllwild which means you'll get more snow! Only a 2 minute drive/20 minute walk to Humber Park, which is the jumping off point for many awesome hikes of all levels. And you’ll be a five minute drive into the center of the quaint little town where you’ll be able to browse cute shops, go wine tasting or pop into one of the charming restaurants.KITCHEN, BREAKFAST BARThe kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking/baking/roasting/bqqing needs...there's even a fondue set. Foodies will appreciate! Pull up a stool to the breakfast bar and enjoy a meal there or eat at the 4 person table where you can watch the sun trickle through the trees. Or barbeque outside and enjoy a meal at the outdoor dining table or outdoor couch.BEDROOMSDrift off to a restorative sleep in either bedroom. Both bedrooms look up to Tahquitz Peak and have two story windows. Sleep blissfully in the super comfy and cozy King and Queen mattresses and enjoy the stylish Pendleton blankets, (washable wool, of course!), when it gets chilly. LIVING ROOMMovie and game night is elevated here in front of a roaring wood fire. Watch your favorite shows on the 4k 49” Roku TV. Choose from one of the many boards games to play…from chess to Operation, there’s a game for everyone. Cuddle up on one of the luxurious leather couches with custom Pendleton pillows and washable Pendleton throws. Set your vibe with the record player and choose between the carefully curated album collection. Or hook up your devices to a bluetooth speaker and stream your own music. The internet has download speeds of 356 mbps…which means you’re good to go for all your wifi needs. BATHROOMSEnjoy the renovated main bathroom. Just because The Lazy Arrow is a classic cabin doesn’t mean we don’t like luxury. Wash the hiking dirt away under the rain shower as you look out of the skylight up to the trees. There's also a powder room off of the primary bedroom. Well… not actually a tree house, but you'll feel like you're in one. Nestled behind two huge boulders, on a quiet street, lies this 1938 vintage cabin, with views of tree or sky from every window. The space:Large living room and open kitchen, with an island that is great for cooking and entertaining. A beautiful restored Wedgewood stove is the centerpiece of the kitchen. There is an old oak pub table, with a unique mica hanging lamp, in the dining area that can extend for seating up to six people (vintage folding chairs available).Upstairs master bedroom has en suite 1/2 bath, Casper bed, and reading area with a claw foot oak reclining Morris chair. The other bedroom is larger, but is open to the stairwell, so not quite the privacy of the master.Downstairs bath has a claw foot tub with shower and mosaic tile floor.Coffee beans and a grinder provided. We have a French press and 4 cup coffee maker also. There is a Gas BBQ on the deck.Fast 500 Mbs WiFi.No frilly curtains, kitsch or tchotchkes… just classic cabin! $50 pet fee per week or portion thereof. As noted in our house rules, pet owners are not allowed to instant book.Five people allowed if one can sleep on the couch. This is a 1938 vintage cabin. We do everything we can to make it comfortable AND authentic, but please don’t expect Herman Miller- like dining seating, or hermetically sealed windows. There may be squeaky wood floors and clickety door knobs… but we do promise a unique experience.Other things to note:We have one air conditioner downstairs and one in the upstairs bedroom that is there only in the summer. There are fans upstairs to move that cool air around. On hot days we open the windows at night and close them in the morning, and the place will stay cool most of the day.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs less than 50 lbs per pet (limit one pet total). One small, well behaved dog is allowed..About checkOut:Check out before 12:00 PM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Quiet time outside and on deck 9p-8a. If you like the Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite, you'll love our little Ahwahnee-be cabin. Decorated with mission oak furniture and Indian themed fabrics and Pendletons, this 1953 vintage cabin is just a 10 minute walk into town. The space:Walk to county and state parks, hiking trails, bouldering and skate park. A beautiful real river rock fireplace is at the heart of this unique cabin. Large 1/2 acre lot with a badminton court. Downstairs is a game room/theater and large screen TV with surround sound, DVD, and PS2 game console. We have lots of Xbox 360 games, so bring your own Xbox.Super Fast Gigabit WiFi.Another nice feature of this cabin is the real plaster ceiling. Many of the cabins in Idyllwild have the same wood paneling on the ceiling as the walls. This makes for a rather dark room, and a feeling as though one is living in a crate. Some reviewers have mentioned the word "loft" for the upstairs bedroom. To be clear, it is a large finished attic room with it's own door to the stairs. The ceiling, however, is 6 feet high, so us tall ones have to stoop a little! We are on a corner large lot at a 3-way stop three blocks from town. Like any property that close to town, we have occasional cars pass by our cabin. Evenings and nights are mostly dead quiet. This is a cabin, there is a fireplace, and it is used. There may be a faint smell of smoke when you arrive. We do our best to clean the fireplace every time, but it is not perfect.$50 pet fee per week or portion thereof.Other things to note:We have a window air conditioner in the living room during the summer. There are fans in every room to move that cool air around. Usually we open the windows at night and close them in the mornings on hot days and the place will stay cool most of the day, even without the air conditioner on.The downstairs space (where the half bath is also) is normally unheated, so it may take a while to warm up with the space heater in the winter. Also, the stairs are a bit steep (up to code in 1953!). There is a handrail, but not recommended for toddlers and the elderly. Please keep the door locked when not in use.The attic room stairs are also steeper than you may be use to, but they are carpeted with a handrail, and are behind a lockable door. On the hottest summer days, the attic room will get warm, but is well ventilated and always cools off at night considerably.Sorry, no wood is provided for the fireplace. One can purchase boxes of wood from both markets in town, and there is usually kindling in the box. If not, we may have kindling in boxes at the rear of the property.Riverside County TOT #71-226.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs less than 50 lbs per pet (limit one pet total).About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Quiet time outside and on deck 9p-8a.
