UPDATE: Please see picture of recent riverbank changes. River access has become difficult & limited due to a recent windstorm that removed a healthy amount of land along the river. Access off back deck is not recommended. Feel free to inquire. River's Edge radiates a cabin feel, yet has all the necessities of home. Rustic decor including clocks, radios & snow gear reminds you that time almost stands still here, but AppleTV and HomePods remind you to stay in the present. The river, just off the deck, drowns out any distractions from your relaxation. Neighborhood:This is a quiet neighborhood w/ very only a few houses. Outside the neighborhood is where all the magic happens. Check the Guidebook below for Must See, Do & Eat's. If you get rained out, chill my homey brethren. River's Edge has your back with that 24/7 lazy-day-feels setup. Translation: It's Comfortable AF.Der Baring Store is a walk down the road & Index General Store is a short drive for most necessities. Gold Bar and Skykomish are each about 10 min away with more food options. Close proximity to Stevens Pass for skiing, mt biking, hiking, getting more food, or just hanging out, people watching. Amenities:Wi-FiApple TV with NetflixGaming unitsKitchen with all the tools need to make a Thanksgiving dinner.Pantry has basic items.Fishing in the river, off the back of the property, BYO Gear.Stevens Pass Ski resort within 25 minutes.Hiking and backpacking trails in every direction.House Rules:No smoking indoorsCheck-in is anytime after 4PMCheck out by 11AMSelf check-in with smart lockIf you want to have a SMALL outdoor fire in the pit, plan on bringing wood. There is not a supply at the house. Do not pull wood from nearby properties. The space:The "neighborhood" has very low traffic and property is mostly very-private. Access to the river allows for fishing and splashing around during certain times of the year.Guest access:You can take a stroll through the quiet neighborhood surrounded by forest and wetlands. Or you can meander down to the river and have your go at skipping rocks or pulling a steelhead out with a rod. Sheds and small cabin are currently off limits. For safety sake and to prevent from further erosion, the river should not be accessed from directly in front of house.Interaction with guests:I will be a phone call, text or email away. I know what it's like to be bothered on a vacation and I know what it's like to need something in a pinch. I will be available when you need to help alleviate all stresses you came here to avoid. You must also acknowledge:Must climb stairs - Three stairs on the porch and deck, 15 stairs to the loft/master bedroomPotential for noise - Trains. All day about one every two hours. Maybe one at night. It's pretty faint and wakes light sleepers. Bring ear plugs if you need.Amenity limitations - You're in the mountains with variable weather. Coziness awaits you! Come relax in our beautiful, fully renovated cottage nestled among the pines just 30 miles from Seattle in the quaint town of North Bend. We are located right off the road up to Rattlesnake Lake just one mile from the lake itself. Close access to the Snoqualmie Valley Trail and all of the popular hiking and biking trails nearby. We are just 20 minutes from The Summit at Snoqualmie ski area and just a few minutes to downtown North Bend & downtown Snoqualmie. Our cottage was built in the 1950s and was the main home for the original owners that we bought the property from until they built the main house. When we bought the property, we decided to restore the cottage and bring it back to life for people to enjoy. We recently fully renovated the space, which sits next to our main residence. Our property was a full-blown rhododendron nursery in the 1980s-1990s so you will find it popping with color in the Spring and early Summer. The cottage boasts a regular sized kitchen equipped with a microwave, Keurig, stove/oven, refrigerator with quartz counter tops and stainless steel farmhouse sink. All cooking utensils, plates, cups, silverware, etc. are onsite. WiFi access and large flat screen smart TV with built in Roku with access to thousands of titles on Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as several other apps. Please note, we do not subscribe to cable TV. Built-in electric fireplace creates a beautiful ambiance and will make you extra cozy in the cottage. Large extended length sofa that two people can comfortably lay on! Bedroom equipped with super comfortable queen sized bed you melt into. PLEASE NOTE: the bedroom has an angled ceiling for maximum coziness, so it’s very low on one side. Guests need to take extra caution when walking through the bedroom. Air mattress also available upon request. Bathroom has beautiful marble vanity and full sized tub/shower combo with stocked shampoos, shower gels.In the Summer months, outside you will chairs to relax and gaze up at the stars at night! Recently added is a propane fire pit to enjoy with easy start that also doubles as a table. You may also hear the little laughter from our two small daughters. We will be sure to keep noise to a minimum. We also have chickens (no roosters) onsite but they are on the other side of the property so you won’t really hear them. And our black house cat may occasionally wander by. She is very friendly and would love a pet.We hope you will come experience the relaxing ambiance of the Rhodie Cottage nestled among the pines! We always have a two night minimum and a 7 night maximum stay. For stays longer than 7 nights, feel free to send a request and we will determine if we can handle or not. This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit... easy I-90 access... 15 minutes to seattle, 10 minutes to bellevue, 15 minutes to Redmond and 25 minutes to the Pass .. driving into the Seattle for a game or concert at one of the stadiums is extremely convenient and quick if timed right to miss traffic…situated on 3 acres with Lewis Creek running thru it, can also walk out to the park and take a trail to the lake with a little sandy beach and be there in 5 minutes, enjoy a little bit of country close to everything. You'll feel like you're in the country but costco, and every major grocery store is less then 2 miles away!! :)Free to roam in field and light a bonfire along the creek... (provided there are no burn bans) fire pit is available !The bedroom is situated in the loft and requires you to climb a relatively steep set of library ladder stairs to access, but is very cozy. Old and arthritic people like myself can still get up there, but it’s not as easy as it used to be! :)There are tv’s both upstairs and downstairs and a comfortable electric fireplace provides both ambiance, and heat if desired.Guest accessGuest can access the loft from either the front or the back of the building with the same access code provided. Parking is available in front of the loft along the fence, you’ll see a reserved parking sign to pull up to.Guest are encouraged to wander around the property and out into the field to take it all in if time permits…You may be greeted by a bark or two from our two golden retrievers across the fence, Max and Samson, but they’re harmless and just like attention. There are several restaurants in the area as well as an incredible amount of delivery options, so your food choices are plentiful.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 13-17.Steep ladder is not good for small children.About checkIn:Check in after 3:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 18.About events:No events allowed.
