Brilliant hotel and a great place to stay. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the location was perfect — tucked away on a quiet little road, away from the busy side of the city, but still with plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff were incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout our stay, and the whole area felt very safe. The free welcome snacks were a lovely touch too. Really good value for money, but what stood out most was how comfortable and welcoming the place felt. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. Would definitely stay again!

The room was great, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The courtyard (siheyuan) is absolutely beautiful. The underground parking was also very convenient. The service was excellent. I didn't use my car for two days, so leaving wasn't the smoothest. I had to rush to Yungang Grottoes and left before 7 AM, getting a bit delayed at the entrance. The parking fee was 100 RMB (even though there was a free parking voucher, it didn't link successfully), but the owner paid it for me. This is a very responsible establishment, and both the owner and the housekeeper are wonderful. The location is super convenient, and the breakfast is incredibly delicious. Many thanks!

We had a wonderful trip, and my child absolutely loved all the little animals, especially Little Grey – so adorable! The location is also fantastic, right across from Huayan Temple. Whenever we came back, refreshing watermelon would be sent to our room, which was such a thoughtful touch! We accidentally left some underwear behind when we checked out, and the hotel immediately contacted us and helped mail it back. We're so grateful!!

This guesthouse boasts a wonderfully elegant ambiance and a truly superb location. Stepping out, you're right on Gulou East Street, perfect for exploring, and Southeast Yi is just a few minutes' walk away. Despite its bustling street location, the guesthouse's courtyard offers surprising tranquility. We slept soundly through the night and woke up naturally, completely undisturbed. The owner and the housekeeper were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They were always ready to answer any questions, from before our arrival until our departure, and their responses were always very detailed. Every day, the housekeeper would kindly ask us what time we'd like breakfast the next morning, and at the agreed time, she'd even come to our room door to let us know it was ready. I absolutely adored it!!! If I ever visit again, I would definitely choose Yishui Street.

The place is very clean, and the environment is really cozy, making for a very comfortable stay. The shower pressure is fantastic, I'm very satisfied, it's such great value! The staff (specifically, a young lady) was very welcoming and even thoughtfully prepared breakfast for us. Five-star recommendation!

Allow me to share my honest experience at this hotel in Datong: On the 9th day of my Shanxi trip, I caught a cold in Shuozhou. Upon arriving in Datong that evening, I chose to stay at Yunzhong Chaoran Pavilion. Just before going to bed, I noticed the bed frame making creaking noises. I contacted the butler, who explained that rosewood furniture can sometimes expand in the summer, causing friction and noise. As soon as the butler learned I had a cold, without a word, he immediately offered me a complimentary upgrade to a duplex room. He didn't leave until I confirmed that the new bed was silent. I had such a restful sleep that night. At breakfast, the waitress proactively asked if my cold was getting better and prepared ginger brown sugar tea and a light dinner for me. When she saw that I had a delivery person bring a bucket to soak my feet, she asked the kitchen chef to cut some ginger for me, suggesting I boil it to soak my feet to dispel dampness and cold. She also told me to rest for a while after soaking and not to rush checking out. This was the most touching day of my 10-day trip. Datong is truly magnificent! The people of Shanxi are genuinely simple and kind. The room's facilities were impeccable. If you're visiting Datong, I wholeheartedly recommend this place!

The front desk staff were very diligent and responsible. The room was large and spacious. They promptly contacted us when something was lost. A huge thumbs-up to the front desk service staff! Shanxi tourism is great for a reason; they genuinely care about their guests. The hotel's location within the ancient city is absolutely fantastic!

On my trip to Datong, I booked a stay at the Howard Johnson Jindi Plaza Datong, located right by the ancient city, through Trip.com. It's rated 5 stars online, and it truly lives up to the hype! As soon as I checked in, I was upgraded for free to a deluxe business suite. It was my first time seeing a suite with a dining table big enough to host over 10 friends and family. After one night, I switched back to my originally booked business king room. The king room was also incredibly comfortable, measuring a spacious 62 square meters. Opening the curtains revealed views of Datong's streets. If you walk to the end of the corridor, you can even see a panoramic view of the ancient city of Datong. What truly stands out is the fantastic Chinese restaurant at this 5-star hotel. I stayed in Datong for three days, and除了one lunch I had in Hunyuan Ancient City, all my other five lunches and dinners were enjoyed at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. Here, a bowl of Shanxi's specialty knife-cut noodles is only 6 RMB, and a bowl of cold noodles, even tastier than those in Hunyuan, is just 3 RMB. You can order half portions of shumai, and during the first dog days of summer, they even had dumplings. I tried the braised deer tendon with scallions, something I'd never had before, and it was superb, as were the husband and wife lung slices and jellyfish salad – perfect with drinks. Dining here is delicious and affordable. If you top up 200 RMB, you even get a complimentary plate of Shanxi's signature 'guoyourou' (fried pork in sauce). A huge shout-out also goes to the restaurant staff. They are warm, thoughtful, and genuinely care for guests, even advising against ordering too much, ensuring just the right amount! In summary, I give a 5-star rating to both the hotel and the F&B department. The last photo is of the hotel's breakfast, which was also excellent. The hotel has two breakfast restaurants, so even with many guests, it never feels crowded!

This time to Datong, choosing to stay at Shengyajuju is really the wisest decision! From booking to leaving the store, the whole experience is impeccable. Location: The location of the homestay is quiet, it is very convenient to go to the core attractions such as the ancient city wall, Huayan Temple, Kowloon Wall and other attractions, and it is within walking distance. The surrounding life is convenient, but it will not be too noisy, and the rest is very quiet at night. Environmental facilities: I was deeply attracted as soon as I entered the door! The decoration is very distinctive, perfectly integrating classical Chinese aesthetics and modern comfort. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and I lay on it to remove the fatigue of the journey. The facilities are full marks, high-definition projection, first-class quality toiletries, details can feel the owner's intentions everywhere. Warm service: The hospitality of the boss and staff makes people feel at home. The room introduced the play guide and food map, helping to book tickets, and saving a lot of worry. Featured experience: I have to mention the breakfast near his home! The authentic Shanxi characteristics are clean and delicious, and they are full of energy for a day of play. In short, Shengyaju is not only a place to stay, but also a good memory during the trip. Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!
