Shenzhen Hostels

"I booked this place for my IELTS exam. It's really close to the test center and I stayed for two nights, which was pretty good. It was quite clean, and there were a lot of foreign guests. I even met an elderly foreign lady traveling alone in China for the first time; she saw me carrying English books in the morning and said hello and we chatted a bit. If I had to mention any downsides: the power outlets were very loose, so my phone wouldn't charge properly, and on the second night, someone was showering loudly between 4-5 AM."

"This hostel was quite comfortable, mainly because the owner really pays attention to many details. For example, there was always toilet paper in the bathroom – not once did it run out during my month-long stay. If the shoe rack wasn't suitable, the owner would replace it with a new one. Also, if someone was smoking 🚬 or making loud noise after midnight, the owner would genuinely step in to stop it. The owner runs this hostel with great dedication, making it a perfect spot for anyone visiting Shenzhen on business to rest and spend the night."

"I stayed here for about 6 days in total. Before coming, I was really nervous and scared because I had previously stayed in a very dirty and crowded hostel. But when I arrived, it was completely different – this is by far the best hostel experience I've had in Shenzhen. The bathrooms have a wet/dry separation, and there are plenty of shower rooms and toilets, so I almost never had to wait in line. The auntie cleaned daily, and they even provided a vanity room. The common living area outside is also very spacious with lots of seating, like a library where everyone can work or study together. The front desk staff and volunteer girls were all very gentle and sweet; they meticulously explained the hostel's facilities, which made me feel very welcome and warm."

"Having traveled through several cities and stayed in numerous hostels, this is the first time I've genuinely felt at ease. 1. At first glance, it felt like a well-established hostel that's been operating for years. It has many rooms, quite different from the hostels I've stayed in before, offering a real sense of security. 2. There's a spacious and comfortable common area, and surprisingly, even a kitchen! I saw many guests cooking, and it felt just like cooking at home (the kitchen is even bigger than mine, haha!). 3. The owner is incredibly warm and patient, chatting with us about everyday things (when he learned I'd broken up with my girlfriend, he consoled me patiently like an older brother, which touched me deeply). 4. Even though I stayed in a shared dorm, I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. My roommates were super friendly; even though we were strangers, one even offered me their laundry detergent – so kind! 5. The shared bathrooms are very clean. Every time I went, I saw the cleaning lady tidying up; she's so diligent. 6. I met many foreign guests chatting in the common area. I bravely tried to speak a few words of English that I barely understood myself, and they actually understood me! We even chatted for a while, and I suddenly felt like my English was amazing – it was a really happy feeling. 7. The location is super convenient, just a few hundred meters from the subway and a few minutes' walk to the city hall. There are also plenty of diverse dining options nearby – just perfect! Overall, it was truly an unprecedented experience. If any friends come to Shenzhen, I highly recommend staying here to relive those youthful memories of bunk beds from college. You'll feel right at home! As the New Year approaches, I hope the hostel thrives, and the kind owner stays healthy and happy. I also hope to have the chance to stay here again for a longer period."

"There are many entrances in that building - this big entrance near the kids playgrounds and McDonalds is the one to hostel elevator. 24h security guard downstairs might ask for ID. Gangxia exit B and Gangxia North exit 9 subway entrances are both 100m away - in Gangxia trains are closer. Hostel itself has limited space, nothing fancy, but friendly staff speak english. I've seen better hostels, but based on ratings not sure if Shenzhen has any lol, at least for male travellers. Dengba was quite similar, more spacey, just a bit more walk to subways."

"The boss is very good, the Youth Hostel facilities are also very complete, there is also drinking water, it is also very close to the subway station, there are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, it is not bad for the Youth Hostel ～"

"The hostel is incredible value for money. Less than 5 min walk from Nnanyou metro station, F2 exit. Staff is very flexible. The capsule and decorations are very cool theme. You need to give 100CNY deposit. They provide towels, shampoo, shower gel, Toothbrushes and slippers. The room hosts about 12 people, slightly messy but understandable. Everyone keeps to themselves. The only downside is the constant smell of smoke"

"Excellent location, very convenient for getting around. The room was spotless and the bedding was super comfy. The common areas were clean and had a great vibe. The owner was incredibly warm and attentive, providing exceptional service. We had a wonderfully comfortable stay and will definitely choose this place again next time!"

"I would recommend this place. I stayed 4 nights and every day the rooms were cleaned. As usual in china cities, the guesthouse is not easy to find, so if you're foreigner, keep phone number or wechat contact ready. Metro is just opposite the building entry, very convenient. Only downside, one of the toilets was always dirty. But this depends also a lot of the guests not being able to take care. Otherwise toilets and showers are a bit small. The lookers are big, that's really cool. Great location."

"Very nice and comfortable. The youth hostel is located in a community, with a good surrounding environment and close to the subway station. It is cleaned every day by dedicated personnel. The quality of the residents is relatively high and the boss manages it well."
