"This hotel, touted as a must-stay for Shanghainese visiting Linhai, certainly lives up to its reputation! Or at least, that's what the book 'Linhai is Quite Interesting' claims. It says the building was originally a pawn shop, later transformed into a hotel named 'Yu Tong Feng' by a local owner with a passion for preservation. It remarkably survived the pandemic and has now become one of the two essential spots for Shanghainese tourists in Linhai – since I couldn't get a table at Xīnrongji (which has a 500 RMB tea fee!), staying here felt like a decent compromise. Ah, about the hotel's unique features – as soon as you enter the room, you'll notice them. The most impressive is definitely their bathtub. Just look at the size; it's practically big enough for three people, absolutely incredible! Backing onto Jinshan Mountain and facing the Lingjiang River, perhaps it allows guests to feel Linhai's complex relationship with water, even from their beds."

"This hotel is quite charming—it’s a large, old house that has been nicely converted into several hotel rooms. Our room was very comfortable. However, a heads-up regarding the bathroom: there was no door on the toilet area, and the shower was an all-glass enclosure. Since I was traveling with my husband, it wasn't an issue for us, but if you are traveling with friends, you might want to be aware of this lack of privacy. The location is excellent! It’s right next to the City Wall and super close to several great restaurants and cool bars. We also liked the service; the staff were quite attentive. One thing I found confusing, though, was that they didn't register my address as per the usual government standard for foreign guests, which most hotels in China follow. As for cleanliness, it was standard for China—there were a few stray hairs in parts of the room (usually women's hair), but I find this happens in practically any hotel here. Overall, it was a good stay!"

"The room was excellent, with exquisite amenities, a strong hot water supply for the shower, and great toiletries—everything reflected thoughtfulness and quality. Aside from the slightly high price, there were no other drawbacks. The young lady at the hotel was incredibly helpful, not only assisting us with itinerary planning and recommendations but also taking us to buy Jiu Jiu seaweed crackers. In short, it was definitely worth staying at and left a lasting impression. The hotel's cats were also fantastic! 👍🏻"

It is very convenient to travel, Longxing Temple and Xingshan Gate are 3 minutes walk, and Donghu Park is 15 minutes walk. The Renmin Road seafood food stall is 8 yuan by taxi. "Cao Su almost satisfied all my imaginations of a secluded countryside, with a quiet village, trickling water, stone walls and green tiles, and bamboo forests rustling in the wind. Unlike Beijing, where I live, the mild and humid countryside in the south of the Yangtze River touched me almost instantly. Back to Cao Su, the owner Shuicao is enthusiastic and gentle, the aunt in the store is kind and amiable, and the two dogs in the yard, Xiaohei and Heijian, are extremely smart and well-behaved. The best mornings and nights here are when you can stroll around the village or sit in the yard and read after eating the healthy breakfast prepared by the aunt in the morning. At night, you can listen to the chirping of insects and lie on a recliner to watch the stars in the sky. Returning to nature is really realized here. This morning, I left the store and returned to Beijing. Xiaohei and the aunt were not sent to the village entrance by me. I think I will come back, because Cao Su not only has scenery, but more importantly, it has human touch."

"On September 16, I rode 151 kilometers from Yueqing to Kuocang Town. It was mainly convenient to eat and live, 2 kilometers away from the mountain gate of Kuocang Mountain. "The room should be just installed, clean and comfortable. The proprietress is very simple and kind to people and things, and looks very good to the aunt who works in the kitchen. I lived in on Sunday, the off-season arrived, there was almost no one in the village, very quiet, the next day she took her young son to go out to pick up the courier, and sent us to Xiaozhi Mangrove Forest a few kilometers away for a walk. Dinner is made by the aunt of the hotel, saying that it is the aunt of the village. The cooking is really delicious, home-cooked, not greasy but very tasteful."
