"The hotel is new and perfectly located, and the breakfast is good. Service, however, varies depending on the staff member. Unfortunately, one morning, an employee was sleeping near the reception desk and missed my four calls from the room requesting breakfast (as it's only served in-room). As a result, I lost about an hour that I could have spent exploring the city. My suggestion is to pay more attention to staff performance. Also, the currency exchange rate at the hotel is unfavorable; you'll get a better rate even in the Old City."
"Facilities: Excellent, newly renovated. The price is reasonable, and it's a great value for money in Baku.
Cleanliness: Excellent.
Environment: Very good.
Service: The front desk staff were very friendly and patient, and the handsome room service staff were also very gentle and polite."
"I was told they were fully booked on the day of my arrival but I got an earlier check in. I really appreciated it. The room is quite dirty and black hair was absolutely everywhere. The smell of cigarettes was disgusting"
"I stayed for just a few nights at this hotel, but I will choose another one next time. Our room was very average. It was quite dark, with a window facing a nearby building, letting in minimal light. Breakfast could definitely be improved.
On a positive note, the location is excellent for exploring the city, just a short walk from key attractions. However, since the hotel is on a main street with a bus lane, taxis dropped us off in a side street, which was inconvenient with a lot of luggage or a stroller. Overall, it had its pros and cons."
"The location is fantastic, with the metro just around the corner and shops nearby. It's only a 5-minute walk to the Old Town. The reception staff are incredibly friendly and speak both Russian and English. There are 7 toilets and showers available. There's also an elevator, as the hostel is on the 4th floor. You can't beat this price! I'll definitely be back. You guys are the best!
The only downside I can think of is the plastic cover on the mattress, which crinkles when you turn over."
"Отличное расположение, подойдут для прибывания дней на 5. Оплачивать на ресепшене можно СБП.
Завтрак за такую цену вполне достойный
Персонал очень хороший
Уборка проводилась каждый день
Недостатки: жили на третьем этаже, выше проводился ремонт в дневное время. Номера чуть подустали, но не критично."
"The room was clean and tidy, and the front desk staff spoke both English and Russian. The breakfast was rich and varied, and the hotel facilities were complete. There's a park, a 24-hour supermarket, and a pharmacy right nearby, making it convenient for shopping and sightseeing."
"I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, close to everything I needed and very convenient for getting around the city. The property is exceptionally clean, and the rooms are well-maintained, comfortable, and inviting. The service was impressive from start to finish — the staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely made me feel welcomed throughout my stay. Overall, it was an outstanding experience, and I would definitely choose this hotel again. Highly recommended.”"
"Very nice staffs at reception, met different faces during my stay but all my needs are well taken care of. Great job front desk team! Room is spacious, location is a bit far from tourist attractions, but has supermarket within walking distance, also a shuttle bus can be booked to go to old town. Breakfast is not good as Intercontinental, very little choices so didn't eat there."

Great
KKitty’sLove the hotel. Great location. Clean. But i dont like my view at balcony - direct facing retaurant and not privacy. Smell the food from the restaurant too. But overall , the staff is polite & nice. They have balinese massage too & i love it so much.
GGuest UserNice room. The vacuum cleaning could have been better. The bathroom had a bad smell due to some piping issues. The guys at the reception were all nice and polite!
GGuest UserThis place is excellent honestly, especially for the guys in the reception. He help us to bring our luggage as the room in 2nd floor. At first I would like to recommended this place but then the bad thing happen when we had breakfast. The lady in the restaurant was so rude, the space is so small and can’t accommodate for all guests. So if you come late then no table available. You have to wait. Me and friends really angry to the lady in restaurant, im not sure whether she’s the owner or only a worker. But please tell the lady to be polite to the guests. I put my bread into the toaster and waiting on my table, when it’s ready this lady took my bread with her hands and brought it to my plate. I was shocked, she supposed to take it with thongs n put it on the plate then bring it to me. Or just let it be, i can take it by myself. I don’t like the way she treated us, no attitude at all ..if this lady isn’t available in this hotel then i would gv like thousands stars for the rating. She hide the food as well, we have to asked her for yogurt, eggs or some foods.. but she will bring it to people who looks like european, happy to served those kind of people. ******!!!! Please for asian especially southeast Asia never ever try to stay here if the rude lady still there, beside her all are perfect and im still kind to gv good star coz im not a rude woman. She will ruin this business tho
AAnonymous UserLocated along a main street before 4 Seasons, on the fringe of Old City and opposite the Seaside Boulevard. Walk, catching a bus or taxi are all very easy. Food is readily available as there's Room Service, Rooftop terrace in the hotel, restaurants aplenty around the hotel or short walk away. Daniz Mall and Park Bulvar Mall are closest.
Staff are generally helpful and polite. Even though they may struggle with our English, every effort is made to assist. This is especially so with most of the reception and breakfast service staff.
Housekeeping would have been great for me if they had not returned a pouch I'd left behind in the bedside table. There's nothing of real value in it ( to me), except a printed copy of my passport and phone charging cable. It's frustrating as I'd contacted them the day after I'd checked out and no one else had been staying in that room since I'd left.
Rooms in the hotel are large, with a small foyer where the wardrobe is located. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Getting a room on the back (no Caspian sea view) was great as it's quiet. Bathroom was horrible as the sanitary system was old and gave off a strong stench that hit you the moment you open the room door. Flush was also not working properly. Shower stall doors were old and water leaks onto the bathroom floor when you shower, making it a hazard if you're not careful.
Breakfast spread was ok, offering both hot and cold dishes. Fresh vegetables and fruits were available too. The coffee and tea need big improvements though.
My biggest gripe was the refusal by tge hitel to move me to a room without the stench. As per my return to search for my pouch, that room (206) was definitely not often used.
GGuest UserI took a taxi from the airport to the hotel, but the taxi driver made a mistake and took us to another Wyndham Hotel in a different area. No wonder the front desk couldn’t find our check-in information... Later, we contacted the Wyndham Hotel for our order, and we took a taxi again It was already very late when we checked in. The front desk helped us upgrade to a king-size bed room for free, and stayed for 2 nights later. The hotel is generally good, but if you don’t drive by yourself, you need to take a taxi to get in and out.
DDivine Soul🌟 A Perfect Family Getaway at Modern Hotel Baku – Exceptional Service & Unbeatable Value! 🌟
My recent stay at Modern Hotel Baku was nothing short of outstanding! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, making it a truly memorable experience for my family – including our two-year-old.
The hospitality here is top-tier. The team was attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. Whether it was arranging extra pillows or offering timely assistance, they anticipated our needs with a smile.
The food was a highlight of our trip – some of the best we’ve ever had at a hotel! The breakfast spread was lavish, with fresh, flavourful options, and dinner menus offered a delightful mix of local and international dishes. Every meal felt like a gourmet experience!
Traveling with a toddler can be challenging, but Modern Hotel Baku made it effortless. They provided fresh milk for our little one at various times of the day without hesitation, and even offered snacks tailored for kids. The staff’s patience and willingness to accommodate our needs (like high chairs or kid-friendly utensils) made us feel completely at ease.
For the level of service, amenities, and quality we received, the price was unbelievably reasonable. It’s rare to find such affordability paired with luxury – this hotel nails it!
Modern Hotel Baku is a gem for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. Their attention to detail, dedication to guest satisfaction, and focus on creating a welcoming environment for children set them apart. We left feeling pampered, well-fed, and already planning our next visit!
It's hardly at distance from Nizami Street/Little Venice/Daniz Mall/Old Baku/Carpet Museum all at max 3-4Manat taxi fare.
– if you’re heading to Baku, look no further than this hotel. Five stars all around! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
MMuhammad666Very caring, helpful-room very clean-breakfast wonderful, thankyou

” Thank you for your welcome and your smile, fantastic breakfast ” specially thank you so much Reception Man ( Novruz )he is the best person always help regarding any issue in room, laundry etc Also housekeeping (Lady) she is so innocent and so helpful I really thank you so much for sure I will recommend to everyone ♠️👍
SSurmai DuniyaThe hotel itself is good and rooms are comfortable 👍, but the service was very disappointing.
We stayed for 2 days (24 -26 March 2026)and had already paid for breakfast. At 8:30 AM, the restaurant was still closed and no breakfast was provided ❌🍳. When we asked, they said due to the war, very few guests were staying.
But this is not acceptable. If services are not available, they should either inform guests in advance or refund the amount 💸.
At checkout, they still did not refund the breakfast charges, which felt unfair and unprofessional.
📍 Final Thought: Good hotel, but poor management and lack of basic customer responsibility.
TTriptacular7Situated in the heart of Baku's Old City (Icherisheher), Old City Inn Hotel provides guests with immediate access to the city's rich history and vibrant culture <3
Landmarks such as the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, the Maiden Tower, and Fountains Square are just a short walk away.
The room was clean with crisp, new bedsheets. The balcony offered stunning views of the Old City. It was a pleasure to see the Flame Towers at sunset and again at night from my balcony.
Breakfasts on the 5th floor, surrounded by glass walls, came with an incredible view. Absolutely amazing and spacious!
The hotel owner is truly kind and sincere.
✅ Pros
Prime location in Baku's Old City
Clean rooms with essential amenities
Proximity to major attractions and public transport
⚠️ Cons
No elevator, which may be inconvenient for some guests
No safe in the room
