The room design is trendy and packed with style. I particularly loved the window seat and the filtered tap water at the vanity, making it convenient to drink directly from a glass. The shower room also had a great design, but the floor didn't drain well, leaving a puddle after use. The toilet, shower, and main room weren't separated, which meant less privacy. Plus, the room faced residential buildings directly, so closing the curtains was a must. Another thing I enjoyed was the small speaker in the room; the bass was quite atmospheric. The rooftop bar was convenient and offered good views of the harbor and the opposite shore. However, the tables were very close together, which detracted from the overall ambiance. My absolute favorite aspect was the location, right by the Tai Koo MTR station exit – super convenient for arriving with luggage. Lastly, I appreciated the Australian-made aromatherapy toiletries; they really enhanced the atmosphere.

I practically always stay here whenever I'm in the area. It's a very old-school hotel. The ambiance and service are quite good, the only minor issue is that the Wi-Fi sometimes acts up. I heard they're improving it now, and you can ask the front desk for a better connection. There's a bus stop right downstairs and the subway is a 2-minute walk away. There's also delicious and cheap Vietnamese pho nearby. The rooms don't come with water, but the Wellcome supermarket close by sells 1.5L bottles for just over four dollars.

The hotel is super convenient, just a three-minute walk from North Point MTR station. The soundproofing in the room is excellent, the blackout curtains work perfectly, making it quiet and cool. The sea view and night view are absolutely stunning! The hotel even gave us vouchers for famous local snacks around North Point, which were free and tasted great. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time I visit.

Heads up, everyone! This is my fourth time in Hong Kong, and I never expected such an unpleasant experience. My flight landed at 11:30 PM on the 24th, so I didn't get to the hotel until around 1:00 AM on the 25th. Being a budget-conscious traveler, I booked this hotel, The Arca, for the first night, planning to make do and then switch to the Kerry Hotel in Hung Hom the next day. As mentioned, it was quite late and I was tired and sleepy when I checked in. So, I just brushed my teeth, washed my face, rinsed my feet, and went straight to bed without showering. The next morning, before heading out, I took a shower. As someone who showers daily and has short hair, I usually finish in about 10 minutes. To my surprise, after stepping out of the shower, I found that the drain was clogged and the water had overflowed. Since the room was small, just over 20 square meters, the spilled water had already reached the bed. And because the bathroom is right by the entrance, the water had also seeped under the door into the hallway. This was my first time encountering such a situation at a hotel, and I was still bewildered when the doorbell rang. It was the cleaning lady who had noticed water seeping from my room and rang the bell. That's how it all started. When I got dressed and went to check out, the front desk staff told me that I was responsible for the situation, and therefore, my room deposit wouldn't be refunded, serving as a cleaning and maintenance fee. I was traveling with a friend; I had one room, and they had another. Each room had a HKD 500 deposit, totaling HKD 1000, which my friend paid. My friend was understandably upset and argued that even if they had to deduct something, they could grudgingly accept the HKD 500 from my room, but why were they withholding the HKD 500 from his room as well? The hotel staff explained that according to the deposit form we signed, my friend had paid the deposit for both rooms and had also signed a guarantee agreement. So, if there was an issue in my room, the HKD 500 deposit for his room would also not be refunded. (Talk about learning something new!) Of course, I couldn't accept such an unfair treatment. So, I called the police. Growing up watching TVB, I always thought the police would uphold justice for me, but I was naive. Six officers arrived. They simply tried to mediate, saying both parties were responsible and suggesting we resolve it through email to reach an agreement. Basically, they offered no real help. It was my first day in Hong Kong, and I didn't want this small dispute to ruin the rest of my trip and mood. It wasn't until I showered at the Kerry Hotel on my second night that I realized something: the shower stall at The Arca was only a third the size of the one at the Kerry, barely enough for me to turn around. Plus, The Arca's water pressure was quite strong (which is usually a good thing). So, it's no wonder such a situation occurred. After returning home, I contacted Trip.com customer service to report the incident, hoping they could mediate. My request was a full refund of my HKD 1000 deposit. Through Trip.com's communication with The Arca, I learned the answer to my biggest question: what caused the shower drain to clog? The hotel responded to Trip.com, stating it was 'long hair and other things.' I thought, 'Why couldn't you just admit it?' Since they admitted it was long hair, it clearly wasn't my fault, but the hotel still refused to refund the deposit. Trip.com, to show their goodwill, compensated me 292 RMB, which at least recovered some of my losses. What I'm grateful for in this incident is that I didn't shower before bed that night. Otherwise, dealing with such a dispute late at night, tired and sleepy, would have been far less calm and collected than it was the next morning. Also, a word of advice, especially for those with long hair: avoid this hotel! Given their situation, long-haired individuals are particularly prone to clogging the drains when showering. I was trying to save HKD 800 by staying at The Arca for one night, but instead, I ended up spending HKD 200 more than if I had just stayed at the Kerry Hotel.

The room was small but fully equipped, exactly as pictured online – what you see is what you get. It was very clean, and housekeeping did a great job. The front desk staff were friendly. The room had a fridge and a safe, but no complimentary bottled water. The view from the window was nice, and the soundproofing was excellent; I wasn't disturbed by any noise during my two-day stay. Most importantly, it's super close to North Point MTR station, making it very convenient to get to popular attractions. The 'ding ding' tram and bus stops are also nearby. Directly across the street is a shopping mall, and there's an ICBC bank where you can withdraw cash. There are also many authentic local eateries in the vicinity. Overall, it was incredibly convenient for dining, shopping, and getting around. I had a great experience and would definitely want to stay here again next time I visit.

We appreciated a generous upgrade to a larger (Deluxe?) Harbourview room. The view is amazing! The room was clean with a good layout, small working desk and view from the bathroom through a window. It looked newly renovated, especially the carpet looked quite new. I think it’s the perfect place if you need to be in the Ngau Tau Kok/Kwun Tong

I recently stayed at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong near North Point for four nights with my family and baby, and the experience exceeded my expectations. First, the location is excellent. It's just a five-minute walk from the Fortress Hill MTR station on the Island Line, and there are plenty of dining options nearby. The hotel is also only a few minutes' walk from the seaside promenade, which is perfect for a relaxing stroll. Second, the room was quite spacious for Hong Kong standards, with a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom. We even had a sea view! Third, the hotel facilities are comprehensive. The swimming pool on the third floor is huge, and my baby absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this hotel.

For around 500, I got a reasonable ground-floor garden view room. The hygiene was excellent. Although no complimentary toiletries were provided, I was well-prepared, so it wasn't a big issue. I'd definitely stay again if the price isn't too high.

One of my favorite budget hotels I've ever tried and so far favorite budget hotel in Hong Kong. Important feature mold level is way lower than many hotels in HK. I stayed for about 9 nights and did not feel yucky, however can't say the same for other budget hotels in HK ans Guangdong. If your room has a mildew smell, ask to switch rooms, because mine was good. Super close to subway station and easy base to explore from.

I visit Hong Kong a few times a year and almost always choose to stay at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel. Its location is great, not far from SOGO, which is convenient for shopping. The staff are also very friendly, and the buffet is good. However, the hotel facilities are a bit old-fashioned, and there's a lot of glass, which affected my sleep. Also, the soundproofing in the rooms isn't great, as I could hear other guests arguing in the middle of the night.

AAlasijialaonanrenOur overall stay exceeded expectations. The room had great natural light and was spotlessly clean, with even the corners thoroughly tidied. The amenities were excellent: stable hot water and a quiet air conditioner. The staff were thoughtful and polite. It was convenient for dining and shopping nearby, yet the area was quiet and peaceful. We felt secure and comfortable throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThis hotel totally win cause of its strategic location, it has direct bus A21 to the airport. Room is small and cosy but it might be too small for 2 person especially opening the luggage to its full size is a problem. One downfall is the attitude of the female receptionist, I didn’t understand her mandarin as it has hongki ascent and I repeated my question again, she responded in a rude manner and said she has already answer my question earlier, this is really unnecessary

LlamlllThe hotel is nestled at the foot of the mountain, offering a tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of areas near MTR stations. However, it's about a 20-minute walk to Central/Admiralty MTR stations, or a 6-7 minute taxi ride (around HKD 20-35). We were assigned a room on the 28th floor facing Central, and the view was absolutely stunning. We had a complete panoramic view of the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens, the US Consulate, the Peak Tram Terminus, Government House, and even the distant Bank of China Tower, Standard Chartered Bank Building, and IFC. The staff were all very warm, friendly, and accommodating. They even helped bring up our food deliveries to the room. The room cleanliness was excellent. The soundproofing, however, was average; we could hear louder noises from upstairs and next door. In the mornings, we could also hear the birds chirping from the Zoological and Botanical Gardens below. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, but there was a kitchen available for cooking. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you're looking for something a bit more unique. Compared to 5-star and 4-star hotels near MTR stations, this place offers a really good stay.

Upon entering, we were met with delightful surprises everywhere – it's filled with playful, childlike touches, making it incredibly kid-friendly. DdzhoOur stay at South Nest was truly pleasant. The staff were attentive and approachable, making check-in quick and hassle-free. I initially had an issue with too much sunlight coming into the room even with the blinds closed, but the staff responded promptly and accommodated my request to transfer rooms. If you value peace and quiet and don’t mind traveling a bit, this location is ideal. It’s slightly far from the city center, with buses, taxis, and minibuses as the main modes of transport. Nearby, you’ll find Chinese restaurants and fast-food options within walking distance. One standout feature is the pantry provided on every floor, allowing guests to cook their own meals if they wish. Overall, the stay was comfortable and enjoyable — a great choice for those seeking a calm retreat away from the city buzz.

LLuna Blanca Ysmeralda⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a great stay at Venetian Hostel in Tsim Sha Tsui! The location is honestly one of the best things about it — it’s right in the center of everything in TST. There are so many food places just outside the building, so finding something to eat was never a problem. The MTR is also very convenient, only about a 2-minute walk from TST Station Exit D2, which made commuting around Hong Kong super easy. If you’re coming from the airport by bus, you can simply stop at bus stop #14 (Mirador Mansion), which is very close to the hostel. Another thing we appreciated was the housekeeping. They collect the trash every day, so when we came back our bins were already clean. They also changed our bedsheets and towels even though we didn’t request it, which was a really nice touch. Just a small tip: they sometimes offer room upgrades when you arrive, but you can always say NO if you want to stick with your budget. We stayed on the 13th floor, and that floor has a free water refilling station (which the other floors don’t have), so that was a big plus for us. The only downside is that the elevator in the building can be very slow, especially during busy hours. But overall, the stay was comfortable, clean, and very convenient. Great option if you’re looking for a budget place in TST!

Bbb1979_2006I booked two adjoining double rooms. Though small, they had everything needed, and the hotel felt quite new and comfortable inside. It's located next to a highway, so there was some noise (rooms facing the small road on the opposite side would probably be quieter). I'd say the air conditioning unit was even louder. For breakfast, they offered one pastry and unlimited coffee refills. There was no bottled water in the room, and toiletries and slippers were not provided. It's about a 10-minute walk to Prince Edward MTR station. The value for money is much better than some of the older hotels.

MMax_Nicole_When I booked I didn't knew it was in the Chungking Mansion. Its know as the ghetto. Let's start with the good thing. It has a great location, close to everything. The problem is that Chungking mansion is a massive appartement complex and has a streetmarket down. It is really unsafe according to fire safety. Everything has dust and I got really claustrophobic. The first night I didn't sleep cause I was scared of getting trapped in case of a fire. The cover of the bed was really dirty and had body liquid stains and fungus. So I end up sleeping under my disposable towel. I would have really want to go to another appartement, but I already paid really much money and a better place would have even cost way more money.
