Overall, it was a great stay. The hotel is located right inside the Dounan Flower Market, which makes it super convenient to explore. The front desk even called me before check-in to confirm my needs, and their service remained excellent and friendly throughout my stay. The two ladies at the front desk were particularly gentle and kind. I didn't take any pictures of the hotel, so here's one of the Dounan Flower Market instead.

The room itself is still good, but I can feel this hotel is going downhill, it's a bit desolate. You can tell from the hotel's facilities that the original owner put a lot of thought into it, and the overall hardware was excellent, plus the price was very cheap. However, I can clearly feel that the quality of their service staff has completely deteriorated and is utterly rotten. For instance, during breakfast, their staff would directly carry a slop bucket and clean the restaurant. I understand this is a very typical sign of their organizational breakdown. A flourishing hotel would never have something like this happen.

I chose this City Comfort Inn because I was going to the Dounan Flower Market, and the experience was fantastic!
Excellent location: The hotel is right inside the Dounan Flower Market. You can buy flowers as soon as you step downstairs, and after a tiring evening of browsing, you can go straight upstairs to rest – super convenient!
Clean and comfortable: It's a newly renovated hotel, the room was spotless, and the facilities are brand new. The bedding was comfortable, and the double-pane soundproof windows kept things very quiet, so I slept really well.
Attentive service: The front desk staff were warm and thoughtful, check-in was fast, and they always smiled and greeted me when I passed by, which was particularly heartwarming. There's also a free laundry room and gym, which are very practical.
Great value for money: To stay at a hotel like this at this price point is truly worth it!
Clean, convenient, and cozy – it truly lives up to its name, ”City Comfort Inn.” Next time I'm in Kunming, I'll definitely choose this place again!

No matter where you go in the country, Vienna never disappoints. Although it's a bit older, the rooms are clean and tidy, with no unpleasant odors. There's ample parking in both above-ground and underground parking lots, the elevators are fast, and the Dounan Flower Market is right across the street, where you can find four bunches of roses for only 10 yuan – unbelievably cheap! The shower water is great, with a strong flow, the pillows are comfortable, and the room temperature is just right. Check-out is quick; just give them your license plate number, and parking is free.

When I checked in that day, I arrived quite late, so I was assigned to a different building, also on the top floor. The room was beautiful and very clean. Although it was a bit small, I had requested a quiet room, which is why I chose one on a corner. Even though the room was small, I could still see Dianchi Lake, and across the street was the Dounan Flower Market. This is an apartment hotel, meaning there are many different hotels within the same building, so it can feel a bit crowded with various people. However, being on the top floor, it was relatively quiet. There's a small garden on the rooftop with two adorable, super friendly cats, especially the grey and white one. When I squatted down, it jumped right onto me. The front desk staff were also very kind and proactively helped me with my luggage.

This stay was absolutely fantastic, five stars for sure! The hotel's location is truly unbeatable – right next to the subway station, making getting around incredibly convenient. It's also just a short walk to Dounan Flower Market, so browsing and buying flowers is super easy. It's the perfect spot for tourists.
Parking at the hotel was a breeze, with plenty of spaces available, so if you're driving, you won't have to worry about finding a spot. I chose Atour because of the Dounan Flower Market. It's about a ten-minute walk, very convenient. We walked to the flower market the night we checked in, and it was simply stunning – huge, bustling with people, and full of life. The hotel is also a little over 20 RMB by taxi from Laoyu River, which was packed since it was a Sunday. But Laoyu River offers a close-up view of the beautiful Dianchi Lake. We were short on time and sadly missed the nearby Dounan Colorful Flower Exhibition. It's also a ten-minute walk to Meizi Village on Line 4.
Dounan is a bit far from the city center, but it's easily accessible by subway if you're driving. The surrounding area is still developing.
The room itself was great – spacious, clean, and with excellent attention to detail. There aren't many dining options nearby, but food delivery is convenient, and a little robot delivers it right to your door. The front desk staff were all friendly and polite. I was even pleasantly surprised with a small souvenir when checking out, haha!
Netizens definitely didn't lie to me; following the reviews led me to this hotel, and none of the hotels on my Yunnan trip were a disappointment. Looking forward to my next visit.

The room layout was stunning, truly reflecting a designer brand's touch. The TV screen was massive, and the two large floor-to-ceiling windows at the corner offered incredibly open views. The amenities provided were also top-notch. What really stood out was the impeccable butler service. They contacted me in advance to ask about my needs, and knowing I was driving, they even sent me the parking location, saving me a lot of hassle. They also gave detailed directions to Dounan Flower Market (it's not far, but you need to follow road regulations, which makes it feel a bit longer). There was one minor issue: even though we were on the 28th floor, the noise from passing cars on the road at night still affected my sleep quality.

The front desk mentioned that a night market is opening nearby, which is perfect for those who don't want to venture far. 👍1. Location. It's truly in the absolute center of Kunming. Downstairs is a pedestrian street, and the Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway is right next door (within a 5-minute walk). It's a paradise for food and snacks, with several local internet-famous spots (like roasted pancake, braised dishes, and Qiaoxiangyuan Rice Noodles).
❤️2. Service. Their service, from the front desk to housekeeping, is excellent. We booked different room types this time, and they specially upgraded our rooms to ensure we were all on the same floor. Thank you!
☕3. Breakfast. The hotel's breakfast offers a good variety, generally meeting our needs. There's still room for improvement.
👏4. On the third morning, some of our family members had to catch a train, and the hotel specially packed breakfast for us and left it at the front desk. Five-star service!
🙏5. We left some old clothes in the room that we didn't want, and the hotel specifically came to confirm whether we had forgotten them or if we intended to discard them. Very conscientious and responsible! 👏
👌6. The lobby is a bit small. The guest rooms seem to be on floors 23-28, offering fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding area. Truly excellent.
🤝Suggestion: The garment steamer provided releases steam very quickly once turned on, which could easily cause burns. I've already shared this feedback with the hotel.
Summary: The price is a bit high during peak season, but it's a worthwhile choice during off-peak season. If I had to give a score, I'd give it a 90.

Now, where do I begin, first of? if you sre arriving at this place via didi or taxi straight from the airport, do yourself a favour and get dropped off outside and walk to the entrance of the ”hotel”. If you get dropped off inside the underground parking lot, Goodluck to your driver finding the spot to drop you off that connects to the hotels' elevator (its a maze and once u get there, it looks sketchy but its alright).
Now, for the location: the location is superb! You're legit right beside a large mall with Tonssssss of restaurants to eat at even late at night! It is simply very convenient. And if you dont mind walking, there's another mall down south thats about 15mins walk. Lots of things to do.
The lobby, the receptionist were kind and warm. They provided water whenever asked and didn't hesitate to help where they could. The free tea upfront, although we didn't fully utilize, was a nice touch.
Now for the room: we selected the largest room they had which had 3 bedrooms. The price? It was insanely good. Almost unheard of. It was between 50-70 Canadian during the time of booking. I couldn't believe it.
But not all hotels are perfect, and i have to say some of the things i experienced could definitely be improved.
The restroom area had some scent to it that I couldn't point out as to what the smell is. I had to leave the exhaust fan on to ensure a neutral atmosphere. It worked fyi.
The living room: is huge but tell me how there's only a 2-3 people sofa available and one small chair and a table. Its a wasted space. It ought to offer a large lounging furniture at this kind of room. It felt bare.
The windows: simply put, although they installed windows capable of sound deadening, the weather stripping and the latch simply doesnt bond the gaps efficiently. Meaning, coldness of the night still finds its way. Luckily, the hvac system works and the curtains are relatively thick and also automatic (adjust at will).
The beds are ultra clean and the floors were relatively spotless.
But there's honestly one thing that is have to think about if I ever decide to rebook. I personally don't smoke, and i requested for a deodorizing treatment for our room prior to coming. The room itself? It didn't smell like cigarettes which was awesome, but here's something I don't see bring possible to address: at night time, while I lay down and sleep, there is a smell of people smoking cigarettes whose odour is somehow able to travel through the air ducts. Like each and every night, it was the same ordeal. My son didn't say anything, my parents inlaw didn't say anything, but my wife and I, yeah we smelled it.
It isnt like as if you're beside someone smoking cigarettes, but its more like a scent that goes along with the air in the room that suggest someone had smoked, just unsure when.
Other than that, sure, the beds, pillows and comforters were all clean and comfy.
Honestly, my family was OK with the room. The convenience and price is really really hard to beat. Like it is extremely beyond belief affordable. Perhaps id reconsider staying here again if we were in kunming. We'll see.

PPsymondDespite the convenient location, comfortable beds, and all-important quiet sleep we managed to get, the hotel's communication to arrange our pick up from the train station at night and what turned out to be a self-check-in was just dismal, clearly needing more training to ensure better organisation for future guests. The following constructive advice is to help the hotel improve and for (particularly foreign) guests to note:
1. Ask for guests' phone number and inform the driver well in advance of our arrival, instead of waiting till the very last minute to do so. We reached out to the hotel via WeChat the day before and rightfully received detailed instructions (in Chinese) to find the driver (the pick up service is actually outsourced to a separate company using 3 different vans), but once we found the van, the driver angrily insisted we call the hotel to identify us by confirming our phone number - we were not allowed to board without the hotel's confirmation, which should have been done directly with the driver well in advance of our arrival.
2. This hotel is not manned after hours, let alone 24 hours, so please make it known well beforehand that we will have to check in ourselves if arriving after hours, and provide clear instructions on how to do so instead of communicating them through the phone while guiding us using the security cameras. It is not the guests' responsibility to do your administrative work (to report ourselves to the authorities by scanning the police QR code and filling out our details) at 11 o'clock at night when we have an early morning train to catch the following day. The hotel should allow guests to enter the room as soon as possible upon arrival, not have us wait half an hour while they struggle with what was clearly their first time checking in foreign guests - worse still over the phone - insisting that this be done before we could enter our room.
3. If the hotel truly wants the patronage of foreign guests, they will have to prioritise our convenience and comfort over theirs by actually having someone check us in in-person. Remotely doing so to save costs is as absurd as expecting foreign guests to communicate our details over the phone, sending photos of ourselves, our passport details etc. via WeChat, and then finding our room card and the room by talking to someone over the phone in Chinese. At the very least, these requirements and instructions should be clearly produced and communicated beforehand so that nothing is improvised.
We hope the above experience helps improve what is a decent hotel providing good value for money.
