Beautiful peaceful hotel! 15 mins walk to River, mountain, bridge etc. Have 5 private baths which are accessible in 24 hrs,but the public bath super good too. ( both open air and indoor , very clean with sauna) Has salt bath scrub and facial exfoliation products which you can try and buy at the souvenir shop. Has free coffee and matcha latte the whole day. Provides yakult, apple cider and black soy bean tea in specific hours. Has Yukata of different colors to choose. Helpful and knowledgeable staff, particularly Mr Chang, he was patient to answer your questions and helped book taxis if you need to. Lastly to mention is the breakfast, the grilled salmon or other fish has small bones. (Hope hotel can warn the tourists on this.) Big rooms. Suitable for family and solo travellers.

1. For a hotel in Kyoto, the room was quite spacious, with a walk-in closet, shower, and bathtub. The area was large enough. 2. It's a 3-minute walk from JR Saga-Arashiyama Station, and about a 20-30 minute walk from major Arashiyama attractions like Togetsukyo Bridge and Jojakko-ji Temple. The location is excellent. 3. The front desk staff were attentive and helpful. There was a very nice ********* lady at the front desk, and a fair-skinned Japanese gentleman with glasses who spoke excellent English. The other female front desk staff were also very helpful. Thank you all! This was a warm and welcoming hotel. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Arashiyama.

Hello, Mr. Boss! This stay in your store is a unique and wonderful travel experience for me. Although I don't understand Japanese, I can check in smoothly under your detailed guidance. At ten o'clock in the evening, because I forgot my room card in the room, I contacted you, and you came back to open the door for me in a timely manner. I lost my transportation card, contact you on WeChat, you went to the Rosen store where I bought things in time to find it, printed out the consumption card, sent it to the station together, and patiently guided me where to take the car when I was panicked. Here, I express my great gratitude! Sorry for disturbing you many times!

Having stayed in Arashiyama already for 1 day at another nearby hotel, I hadn’t anticipated liking the area so much. I located Mulan Hotel and stayed in the dorm bed for 2 nights. Being the only guest there, the beds and common areas (such as bathrooms, kitchen etc) were clean. They had access to a washing machine and dryer which was appreciated after 2 weeks of travel. Presented with a discount coupon for the neighbourhood onsen, 2 minutes walk from the hotel is a must! They also have bikes for hire, which made exploring the local area and neighbourhood really enjoyable. Price is great for those on a budget. The bus stop to return to Kyoto Station is 80m from the front entrance. Be mindful its 15-20 minute walk to the major sites and main restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and I look forward to my visit there again soon!

Transportation: Bus stops are right outside, and it's about a 30-minute drive from the city center. There's also a subway nearby. Public transportation is the primary mode of transport in Kyoto. Cleanliness: Very clean. The bathroom is a cubicle, not very tall; taller people might find it uncomfortable. Surroundings: A FamilyMart is 200 meters away, and a large supermarket is 950 meters away. You can buy groceries in the evening and bring them back to the guesthouse for cooking. The cooking facilities are fully equipped. There's also a hot spring bath called Tenzan-yu next to the supermarket, which you can try. The nearest attraction is the Arashiyama Scenic Railway. Overall: Carrying luggage on the third floor might be inconvenient. The guesthouse owner is very nice, and the surrounding residential area is quiet. There are also night buses available.

I knew it was a couple hotel when I placed the order, so I placed the order out of curiosity~ Environment: In general, it is hygienic, and you can indeed hear the sound of the isolation room. The room is very large, and there is actually a stage with disco lights. You can also see everything in the bathroom through the glass next to the stage. The bathroom is very large, and it is large enough for many people to take a shower together. Facilities: There is no key to the room. When you check in, the front desk will give you the room number and you can go upstairs. You can enter when you see the flashing room number. Then the door is locked, just like playing an escape room. There is a switch the size of a microwave oven on the door, which can deliver food without opening the door to ensure privacy. I want to recommend a food delivery robot to him. After entering the door, I also saw an automatic room renewal machine, but I didn't understand the Japanese.

Having stayed in many capsule hotels, this one offered the best experience by far. It has a large public bath and individual shower rooms, as well as a common lounge. Plus, there's a free lactic acid drink served in the afternoon. Most other hotels require guests to check out by 10 AM, but this one has no such strict rule, allowing residents to return to the hotel for a rest during midday, which makes traveling much more convenient and flexible. There's also a supermarket and duty-free shop nearby, which is very handy. The only downside is that the transportation isn't as convenient as I'd hoped. While it's easy to get there by bus, the bus frequency is quite low, and if you take the subway, it's at least a 15-minute walk. I'd definitely choose this chain of capsule hotels again!

The staff was very friendly. He helped me to pick up my luggage to my room. Only one point is not good enough is that it's a little far from the city centre. Some buses stop the service around 10 something. Even I wait the bus in the city centre. The service has ended already around 10 pm. The transportation is not convenience enough.

RReneehuangHighly Recommended Stay in Kyoto I would like to strongly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kyoto. The staff demonstrate exceptional professionalism and hospitality. In particular, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Miss Yuki, who assisted us with our check-in and kindly introduced many wonderful sightseeing spots and activities in Kyoto, as well as to Miss Tsai, a ********* staff member who supported us during check-out with great warmth and care. Their thoughtful service truly reflects the welcoming spirit of Kyoto and the hotel’s commitment to excellence. I am genuinely impressed by the quality of the team members who bring guests happiness and satisfaction through their dedication. They truly deserve recognition and applause for their outstanding service. Our two-night stay was far too short, and we are already looking forward to returning in the near future.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves. When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service. The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point. There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

I'll definitely stay here again next time.

GGuest UserThis hotel offers incredible value for money! It's super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto JR Station. The streets on both sides of the hotel are lined with small restaurants and pubs, and there's a medium-sized drug store (Don Quijote) at the corner. The room was clean and tidy, and we could see Kyoto Tower right from our window. I especially recommend the hotel's shampoo – it's really good! 😊 The room was spacious enough for two adults and two 28-inch suitcases, with plenty of room to spare. There are USB charging ports by the bed. There's no kettle in the room, so you'll need to bring your own and an adapter. The breakfast on the first floor is a set meal, costing around 60 RMB per person. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserAlthough it was short, I loved my stay here. Had great quality of sleep. Good base for Kyoto, near enough to key locations, but expect a lot of walking unless you use the bus. Nearest station is Kyoto Kawaramachi which is great for day drips just outside central Kyoto and if you are coming from Osaka or Kansai airport - see my tips below. Pros: great bathroom and toiletries, good water pressure and temperature, smart toilet, TV with streaming services, fridge, desk/stool, coat hooks (handy for winter time), semi-full length mirror, luggage rack, various lights to adjust to your preference, very clean, super comfortable firm mattress and pillows, good soundproofing for light sleepers, great air conditioning (room warms up pretty quickly in the winter), you can also open the windows which is nice, felt very safe as a solo female, can ask for more water bottles in reception, lift was never crowded, outlets next to bed, has luggage storage if you need, near the river and traditional streets for scenic strolls, close to bus stop, family mart otw from station for late night snacks. Cons: can hear police cars or cars with loud engines at night sometimes but not frequent, walking from the station with a suitcase was a bit longer than expected, my double room was a bit cramped for opening suitcase (could not open the front or bathroom doors fully to avoid hitting my suitcase) and I am one person (two suitcases would fit but you wouldn't be able to walk around the bed properly). Tips: If you are coming from Kansai airport (KIX), I recommend you take the airport limousine to Namba (bought a return ticket since it is cheaper). It drops you outside JR Namba station, you can go inside to get to the metro station, follow signs for the red Midosuji Line. Board the train to Umeda. Stay inside the station and follow signs for Osaka-Umeda or the brown Hankyu-Kyoto line. This line goes directly to Kyoto Kawaramachi station. When stations, always look for the lift signs if you have luggages. I think I took the lift closest to Exit 4, and it brings you up to a department store. You kinda have to walk through and get out. If you walk out the front entrance, there are a few steps, but if you go to the side doors, it has a slope to avoid carrying suitcases. It's a straight walk from the station. Unless you are doing day trips, Kyoto city buses are a lot better mode of transport in my opinion.

GGuest UserFacilities: My only complaint is that the king-size bed in the king room is made of two single mattresses pushed together, and after sleeping on it for a while, a gap forms between them. Hygiene: The hygiene is excellent. Environment: The surrounding area is very quiet, and there are convenience stores not too far away. Service: The service attitude is great, and the hotel even offers free shuttle service to Kyoto Station.

GGuest UserThe hotel is quite a long walk from Kyoto Station; it took us about 20+ minutes on foot to get there. You could take the bus, but it doesn't really save much time. There's a good ramen shop right next to the hotel that even gave our child a toy. The room isn't huge, but there's enough space for luggage. The lobby downstairs offers free coffee, which I enjoyed every morning.

DDr.p3pp3rI stayed here in a double room and overall had a pretty good experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and both the air conditioning and heater worked very well. One thing that really stood out was the bathroom — the bathtub was much larger than what you usually get in Japan. I’m a tall person, and I could actually sit down and lie back comfortably, which is rare. Most hotel baths feel very small, but this one felt closer to around 1.4m in length, which made having a bath genuinely enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job — the bed was made every day with fresh sheets. Wi-Fi was also very fast, which was a big plus. Amenities were decent, and you can pick up extra items if you need them. Check-in is a bit late at 3pm, which I didn’t love, but that’s balanced out by an 11am checkout. Having that extra time in the morning made it feel worth it overall. I did have a couple of negatives. The strangest one was finding an old sock behind the TV when I arrived. It was very obvious and not hidden, so I’m not sure how it was missed during cleaning. It was a bit gross, but I just left it. Another downside was the mini fridge — it’s more like a cooler than a real fridge. It keeps drinks from getting warm, but they don’t get properly cold. In summer, this really wouldn’t be good enough. Replacing it with a proper mini fridge would be a big upgrade. The other major issue was the lift. It is painfully slow, and there’s only one lift for the upper floors. On checkout day, I left my room about 10 minutes before checkout time, and I almost didn’t make it downstairs in time because of how slow it was. That part was honestly pretty ridiculous. Location-wise, this hotel is excellent. It’s very easy to get to from Kyoto Station — just head south and you’re there in about 4–5 minutes. It’s also very convenient when leaving Kyoto by train. A tip for using the subway: instead of going back to Kyoto Station, walk right from the hotel to Shijō Station. It’s on the same subway line, you’ll get on before Kyoto Station, and the train is empty — so you’re almost guaranteed a seat and can ride comfortably to your destinations. For food and shopping, there’s a shopping mall just across the road toward the station with a Don Quijote, McDonald’s, and other options. The hotel is also right next to a Coco Ichibanya curry house, which is fantastic and open late. Overall, despite a few odd issues, this was a solid stay with a great location, good comfort, and very easy access to transport. I’d happily consider staying here again.

LLeben.WanThe hotel's facilities are quite good, though the only minor drawback might be the poor soundproofing. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, offering convenient access to major attractions in Kyoto. The subway station is about a 20-minute walk away. As for the amenities, the hotel is well-equipped with individual shower rooms and toilets on each floor. The washing machine and lounge area are located on the fifth floor. Please note that the hotel does not have an elevator. If you have large luggage, you can inform the front desk to arrange a room on a lower floor.
