Mitsui Garden Hotel Yokohama Minatomirai Premier

9.5/10
Amazing

The hotel's location is super convenient, close to Minato Mirai and Sakuragicho. There are tons of restaurants in Landmark and Queen's Square, plus my favorite supermarket, Seijo Ishii. Traveling with kids, we opted for a room with a microwave and washing machine, which was incredibly handy. The hotel even provided special toiletries for our child every day, a really thoughtful touch. The hotel itself is new, with a modern design, and the staff are all very enthusiastic. You can even see Mount Fuji from our room! We'll definitely choose Mitsui Garden again next time we're in Yokohama!

The hotel's location is excellent, with a direct elevator from the MM line subway right to the hotel entrance, making it very convenient for getting around. The rooms are quite spacious and come with a microwave, a mini-fridge, and a countertop. The breakfast is quite generous, mainly Japanese and Western style. The front desk provides common amenities like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and combs, but there are no small-sized skincare products or facial cleansers, which some other hotels do offer.

The Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu

The hotel is noticeably dated. The rooms have a persistent old-carpet smell, and the advertised room views are misleading. We selected this room expecting abundant natural light and a panoramic 280-degree view, based on the photos provided. In reality, roughly half of the supposed windows are frosted for privacy reasons, something carefully obscured with curtains in the website's photography. The actual view consists primarily of an office building, an amusement park and several construction sites, one of which appears to be a recent development within the amusement park. Due to very poor sound insulation, we could hear jackhammers starting from around 7:30 a.m. each morning. Due to the same reason one would hear every speeding motorbike and, every weekend, loud window-shaking partying early to late evening. The Ferris wheel prominently featured in the hotel's marketing materials is visible only if you stand at the extreme left window of the room. By contrast, the ventilation shafts directly below the room are impossible to miss. When I inquired about changing rooms, the staff did not acknowledge the discrepancy between the advertised and actual views and instead attempted to upsell us to more expensive room categories. The gym exists largely in name only. It consists of two pieces of equipment in a cramped room that closes early, and guests must request special permission each time they wish to use it. To make matters worse, the hotel entrance emits a continuous high-frequency sound. I understand such devices are sometimes used to discourage loitering or deter pests, although their effectiveness is debatable. For younger guests or anyone without significant hearing loss, the sound is distinctly audible and quite painful every time they enter or leave the hotel.

This hotel boasts a great location, not far from Yokohama Station, making it easy to get to Sakuragicho and the Red Brick Warehouse via local lines. It's also very convenient for trips to Tokyo. The room was incredibly comfortable and surprisingly spacious for a Japanese hotel in this price range! It was very clean, and the housekeeping service was excellent. You really can't fault the service at Japanese chain hotels either.

It's only 50 meters to Keikyu Tsurumi Station, making it a great place to stay for a layover at Haneda Airport. Although it's a small station, there are all the necessary drugstores and cosmetics shops around. The room is a standard JR hotel style. You can store your luggage after check-out.

If you’re looking for a hotel near K-Arena, this one is absolutely worth considering. The location is excellent, situated in a business district with plenty of restaurants available during the daytime. There’s a 7-Eleven on the first floor, which is very convenient, although it closes at 11:00 PM. After around 9:00 PM, it can be a bit difficult to find late-night food nearby. However, the vending machines offer options like takoyaki and pork teriyaki rice, which are helpful for a quick late-night meal. The room is spacious enough for two people and offers a great view. The bathroom is large and separated from the toilet, which makes it more comfortable to use. Amenities are available at the lobby for guests to pick up, and they provide everything you might need—cleansing oil, face wash, cotton buds, conditioner, shaving cream, shaving kits, and more. Pajamas are also provided in the room, and they are very comfortable. One of the highlights is the onsen located on the lobby floor, open until 1:00 AM. It’s perfect for relaxing after a long day of meetings or events. There is also a laundry area with washing and drying machines at a very affordable price. However, the dryer may not fully dry clothes even after 90 minutes, so keep that in mind. The lobby area is suitable for working late into the night. Wi-Fi is strong, and complimentary coffee and hot tea are available 24/7. The TV is excellent—Sharp 4K with good sound quality—perfect for watching your own Netflix content. Overall, a great stay, especially for business travelers or anyone attending events at K-Arena.

Capsule Plus Yokohama Sauna & Capsule

8.7/10
Very Good

It is not the first time I have stayed at this capsule hotel. The capsule does not make you feel claustrophobic, and it is quite sound isolated from other capsules. In addition, the hotel is very well located, just a couple of minutes' walk from Yokohama Station. The only problem is that there is no private men's bathroom. So, if you don't feel comfortable showering in front of others, you may have to consider another option. If collective showering is okay, there is plenty of space. There is even a sauna and pools; not to swim, but it is big enough for several people to enjoy it at the same time.

The hotel is short walking distance from shin-yokohama station. Check in was easy and smooth. Out room was a bit small and tired , typical business japanese style but the furniture looked worn. The bathroom was also japanese style : no window + small bathtub with shower and minimal (well equipped) space overall. If you are lucky enough to get an upper floor room , the view from the big window is nice. On the basement there is a 7Eleven and just out of the hotel it is plenty of shops/restaurants

The hotel is right on Zhonghua Food Street, so it's very easy to find. The front desk was staffed by a very kind old Japanese gentleman. The room space was decent, with a separate wet and dry area, and even a dedicated desk area. The overall space was quite large. The facilities were average, but overall it was a good stay.

Since it was my first time making a reservation, I had some trouble getting into the room, but they responded quickly so there was no problem. The accommodation fee was cheap, so I was able to spend more money on sightseeing. There were convenience stores, restaurants, and parking lots nearby, so it was comfortable.
